Chapter 148 Clues

"What? Have you seen the 'white bird'? Are you sure?" Officer Liu asked seriously with a serious expression.

Cheng Jiawen nodded, "Sure, I checked the photo, it's him."

"Okay." Officer Liu nodded, then immediately stood up, looked around, and pointed at someone. "Xiao Chen, call the military district immediately to report this. Dashu, Linzi, Xiaoshan, you guys follow me."

The people whose names were called immediately stood up and answered in unison: "Got it."

Afterwards, everyone started to take action. Xiao Chen immediately ran to the office to make a phone call, and Dashu and others immediately checked their weapons, took their equipment and prepared to set off.

-------------------------------------

Night falls on the cold winter village, and a group of people ride bicycles, speeding on the dark road.

The cold wind howled, slicing through the air like a sharp blade. The chilly night wind whipped their faces, causing them to feel a stinging sensation. Their breath condensed into white mist in the frigid air, but no one complained, only moving forward resolutely.

"Brother Liu, we're ready. We're just ahead." Cheng Jiawen saw the shadows at the village entrance and whispered to Officer Liu beside him, "Should we go to my house first to find my mother and identify the criminal, or should we go directly to the back mountain and the east? My mother said she often saw them hanging out there with Wang Mao and his men."

"Wang Mao? Who is he? What is his relationship with 'White Bird'?" Officer Liu immediately extracted the key words from the words. A new person appeared, 'Wang Mao'. What role did he play in this case?

Was he involved in this matter? Another question is, if there really was explosives, how did White Bird and his men get them in without anyone knowing?

Questions one after another surrounded Officer Liu's mind, making him frown.

The flashlight emitted a weak light, barely illuminating the road ahead. The bicycle wheels creaked on the icy road, as if fighting against the cold night.

Their figures are looming in the darkness, mysterious and majestic.

-------------------------------------

After entering the village, Cheng Jiawen did not take them along the main road, but took them along a small path on the side of the mountain.

There was no other way. Such a large group of people coming to the village in the middle of the night would likely attract the attention of the villagers. If the news was leaked accidentally, it would easily alert the enemy.

On the mountain path, everyone's bicycles were parked one after another, forming a convoy walking along the mountainside.

"Brother Liu, how are we going? Where are we going first?" Cheng Jiawen was leading the way. When he saw that they were about to reach his home, he quickly turned around and asked, "We were already at my house. So, are we going to my house first?"

Officer Liu shook his head. "No, let's go catch Wang Mao. It's most important to catch him first and prevent him from escaping."

"Okay." Cheng Jiawen responded and immediately turned the car and headed in another direction.

After riding for more than half an hour, they finally saw Wang Mao's home. Cheng Jiawen stopped his bicycle not far from Wang Mao's home. After everyone got off, he pointed to a mud house not far away and said, "That's Wang Mao's home."

"Who is in his family?" Officer Liu asked cautiously, squinting his eyes at the house not far away.

Cheng Jiawen thought about it in his mind, "There are only two people in his family, him and his sister."

"Just two people?"

"Yes." Cheng Jiawen nodded and then explained, "His father died a long time ago, and his mother ran away. He and his sister were raised by their grandmother. Two years ago, Grandma Wang also passed away, leaving them alone in the family."

"Yes." Officer Liu nodded slightly, indicating understanding, and then carefully examined the location of the house. He quietly discussed with the others and decided on a possible hiding place.

Everyone followed the instructions, quickly formed a circle, and listened attentively to the task assignments given by Officer Liu.

Officer Liu looked at everyone solemnly and said in a low voice, "Does everyone hear clearly? This operation is extremely important. We must maintain absolute silence and must not disturb anyone in the village."

"Understood!" Everyone responded in unison, their voices small but firm and powerful.

They were fully aware of the sensitivity and danger of this mission, and nodded to indicate that they had kept Officer Liu's instructions in mind.

Then, Officer Liu asked everyone to make preparations for the final inspection.

Time passed minute by minute, and half a minute later, Officer Liu swung his arm suddenly with a clean and neat movement.

Everyone understood what he meant and immediately followed the plan they had made earlier, approaching the house in an orderly and silent manner, forming a tight and hidden encirclement.

When they arrived at the house, Officer Liu saw that everyone was ready, so he immediately called a police officer in the station who could open locks and quietly opened the door.

"Squeak~" the door opened.

Officer Liu and his men were holding weapons and carefully observing the surroundings. The house was not big and was filled with all kinds of things, including wood, branches, various bottles and jars, and a lot of miscellaneous things.

The house was small, with only two rooms. Officer Liu glanced around sharply and gestured to everyone to silence them.

After receiving the instructions, the team members understood and automatically split into two groups, silently encircling the two rooms. Everyone was on edge, their steps as light as cats, afraid to make the slightest sound.

The entire operation was tense and orderly. No one spoke, only the gentle sounds of breathing and footsteps intertwined. Everyone knew that this mission could not afford any mistakes and must ensure that everything was foolproof.
