Chapter 70 The Growth Story of Liang Xiaoju, the Sea Queen of the 1970s

Liang Xiaoju knew she wasn't a good woman, but what could she do? What had society given women?

Her family background was poor. She had seven sisters and was the fourth oldest. At first, her family was called Zhulanmeiju (meaning bamboo, orchid, plum, and chrysanthemum), but later it was called Zhaodi (meaning to seek a younger brother), Wangdi (meaning to hope for a younger brother), and then the arrival of a younger brother.

Her family was already poor, but her mother kept having children.

I didn't have the energy to take care of her after she was born, so I left it all to her older sisters.

During the day, I have to go to work, and when I come back from work, I still have to go home to do laundry, cook, and take care of the children.

If that's all there is to it, even if life is tough, you can persevere and bear it to some extent.

But with the birth of Hachiko...

My eldest sister got married early, and my second sister was taken by my mother to exchange for grain.

The third sister had already found a husband, so the heavy burden of the family fell on her, the fourth sister.

Her younger siblings are still small, so she now does all the work that her older sisters used to share.

If the work isn't finished before dark, the person will be beaten and scolded.

She had never considered running away at first, but then she saw her third sister's fiancé arrive on a bicycle to propose marriage.

The mother happily invited the man in, and even though everyone else was giving a dowry of twenty yuan, the man gave a dowry of fifty yuan.

After that day, until her wedding, my mother wouldn't let my second sister do anything.

She was washing clothes while wearing clothes that were too short and patched up, with her youngest sister on her back.

While she was being beaten by her mother, her third sister was sewing new clothes in the house.

She felt a pang of envy.

She also wanted to find a partner who could offer a dowry of fifty yuan as soon as possible.

But all the villagers were strange and unattractive, and she didn't like any of them. Her third brother-in-law, who lived in town, was much more handsome.

But he was, after all, my third sister's husband.

Soon the day of my third sister's wedding arrived, and on that day, everyone in the village came to celebrate.

Of the four eligible daughters in their family, three have passed away.

Finally, everyone noticed her, including Wang the Cripple.

Wang the Cripple told his mother that he could afford to give a bride price of fifty yuan.

Today is a perfect day for the two sisters to celebrate their wedding together, a double celebration!

Everyone initially thought it was a funny joke.

Ironically, her mother agreed.

So she was forced to become a bride that very day.

She knew that if she married Wang the Cripple, her life would be ruined.

So, under the pretext of going to the toilet, she stole the new clothes her sister had been rushing to sew and also took fifty yuan from her mother's room.

One person ran out.

She felt relaxed and free in the air of being alone. After several moves, she left the village, left the town, and left her hometown completely.

In an unfamiliar town, she washed her hair and took a bath in the river under the cover of darkness.

She took off her tattered clothes and put on new clothes that she had stolen from her third sister.

Surprisingly, it fits perfectly.

Wearing new clothes and no longer having to work, she was free from the oppressive atmosphere of her home, and her whole demeanor changed.

The money just disappears very quickly...

She had thought it through: if she couldn't change her fate, she would try to change her destiny.

One birth, one marriage.

If she seizes the opportunity now, she will definitely have a different destiny than before.

She met her first husband through her deliberate approach.

She later got married smoothly; her husband was a workshop director, and they lived a comfortable life.

Just when she thought she could be happy like this forever, she discovered that her man was secretly supporting another woman.

Later, they even ended up in the same bed. Her heart was dead, yet she wasn't.

Why can men do this, but women can't?

She made thorough preparations to prevent her husband from discovering that she already knew.

When he returned home, she treated him to good food and drinks and showed him concern for him as always.

Then, after she got him drunk and passed out, she took all the money and banknotes from the house and left the place.

The world is so big, and her mindset changed after she left that place.

Her first husband was very wealthy; she brought with her nearly a thousand dollars in banknotes.

This also changed her original intention.

With money, anything can be faked.

If you dress up and are willing to spend money on yourself, you can easily become any kind of person.

A young lady who lost her status, the daughter of a factory owner from out of town…

She then used this opportunity to get a second, a third, and a fourth.

Life, though like guerrilla warfare, is full of excitement.

The world is both vast and small.

Those men weren't pushovers; after much searching, they finally found out about her.

They appeared unexpectedly before her.

Fortunately, her appearance had changed so much that the first person to meet her was her first husband, but he didn't recognize her.

This was enough to make her realize the gravity of the situation.

Just as she moved to another city.

I ran into that idiot.

That fool actually thought that meeting her several times was fate.

Little did she know that she had already selected many potential suitors before that.

Of the three of them, she initially had her eye on the tall one, but he looked too fierce, and she was afraid that if she ran away after getting him, she would be in deep trouble.

Later, she took a liking to the fair-skinned one, but he ignored her several times when she pretended to fall, so she gave up.

Until she went out for breakfast, the little guy stared straight at her.

Although she was not satisfied with his appearance, she could tell from the sight of them carrying large and small bags into the guesthouse all day long that they must be from a wealthy family.

She's got money now, why would she care about looks? They can't put food on the table.

So the second time she deliberately created opportunities, and all that the man did was stare at her, but he was too cowardly.
