Jiang Anxia shook her head, then looked at the thin blanket covering her body.
She seemed to remember that at six o'clock in the morning, Jiang's mother came to her room and told her that they had all gone out, and even little Jiang Xing had gone to school with Jiang Wang, leaving her alone at home.
No wonder no one came to disturb her sleeping in this morning; apparently, no one was home.
Ah! It feels so good to be home alone.
After finishing her reflections, Jiang Anxia quickly got up.
After changing my clothes, I opened the door and went to the kitchen.
Just as she expected, her breakfast was being kept warm in a pot in the kitchen.
Jiang Anxia smiled silently. The Jiang family always cared for each member of the family in this quiet way.
They never say anything, but their actions are silently demonstrated in their daily lives.
After finishing breakfast, Jiang Anxia cleaned the house in the Jiang family's yard.
Around noon, Jiang Anxia washed her hands and began preparing lunch for everyone.
This way, when Jiang's mother and the others come back, they can have lunch, and after they finish eating, their afternoon nap will be longer.
Jiang Anxia calculated the time and calmly prepared the ingredients.
The food was ready, but the person hadn't returned yet, so Jiang Anxia put the food in the pot to keep it warm.
Even though it's summer, it's still not good to eat cold food.
After finishing her work, Jiang Anxia returned to her room, took out her phone again, and found a novel to read.
This time, she was reading a period novel to gain some experience so that she wouldn't be completely clueless about this era.
After Jiang Anxia had read several dozen chapters, a sound finally came from the courtyard gate; it was her father and the others returning.
Jiang Anxia quickly threw her phone back into her storage space, opened the door, and walked out.
"Mom and Dad, you're back! Where are my older brother and sister-in-law?" Seeing that only her parents were there, Jiang Anxia asked why Jiang Zhuohua and Zhou Laidi hadn't returned.
"They'll be back soon." Jiang's mother looked at her obedient daughter, feeling extremely satisfied.
Daughters are better; they know how to care for the family. Unlike sons, who are always busy outside and do nothing around the house.
(The three Jiang brothers: Huh? We didn't, we're not taking the blame for this.)
"Then Mom and Dad, you can sit down and rest for a bit. We can eat when my older brother and the others come back." Jiang Anxia nodded knowingly.
“Okay.” Father Jiang replied with his hands behind his back, then walked to the corner of the yard, scooped up a ladle of water, and began to wash his hands.
Seeing this, Jiang's mother also went over to wash her hands.
Seeing that the two had gone to wash their hands, Jiang Anxia went to the kitchen, intending to light another fire in the stove to heat up the food.
Just as the fire was lit, Jiang Zhuohua and Zhou Laidi's voices could be heard from outside.
When Jiang Anxia saw them return, she carried the food to the main room one by one.
Jiang Zhuohua, who had just washed his hands, immediately went over to help.
After a tiring morning, the Jiang family began to eat lunch.
"Hmm... Xiaxia's cooking skills are getting better and better." Jiang Zhuohua praised Jiang Anxia as he ate his food.
"It really is getting tastier and tastier," Zhou Laidi couldn't help but say.
"Don't you know whose daughter she is? Her skills are bound to be excellent!" Mother Jiang said haughtily upon hearing these words.
“Exactly.” Father Jiang nodded in agreement.
The four of them chatted away, and Jiang Anxia's face grew increasingly red as she listened. She quickly shoveled the rice out of her bowl and said, "Mom and Dad, eldest brother and sister-in-law, I'm done eating. You can continue eating."
After saying that, Jiang Anxia put down her bowl and ran away quickly.
"Is she embarrassed?" Jiang's mother wondered as she watched Jiang Anxia run away.
"It seems so." Mr. Jiang pondered, feeling that his wife was right.
Back in her room, Jiang Anxia covered her face with both hands, trying to reduce the heat on her face.
In the end, not only did it not work, but the heat from his palms made his face feel increasingly hot.
Jiang Anxia reluctantly lowered her hand and lay down on the bed.
It seems she's too shy to accept such praise.
As the coolness of the bamboo mat on the bed cooled her down, Jiang Anxia fell asleep without realizing it.
The amazing thing is that the person who was originally lying face down has now turned over, and there is a corner of a thin blanket covering her stomach to keep it warm.
Jiang's mother carried the water and quietly went to Jiang Anxia's room. Seeing that she was sleeping soundly, she put the water on the desk. Then she went to the bedside, pulled out more blankets, and covered Jiang Anxia's chest with them. Then she quietly left Jiang Anxia's room.
Jiang Anxia was unaware of any of this, and instead slept even more soundly.
When she woke up again, no one was home; they had all gone out to do their jobs, leaving her, an unemployed woman, alone at home.
Thinking it over, Jiang Anxia found a small basket and went out.
She's going to go up the mountain to see what else she might discover.
Jiang Anxia was walking leisurely when Jiang Xiaohua stopped her halfway.
"Get lost." Jiang Anxia coldly uttered a single word to her.
"Xiaxia, you... how... how could you talk to me like that?" Jiang Xiaohua looked at Jiang Anxia in disbelief.
What's wrong with this little rascal? How dare he tell her to get lost?
"I have even more outrageous things to say, do you want to hear them?" Jiang Anxia truly didn't understand.
Jiang Xiaohua was probably cursing her in her heart! But her face remained completely unchanged, still with that innocent, innocent look.
She was truly speechless.
"Xiaxia, I'm your cousin, you can't treat me like this." Jiang Xiaohua looked at Jiang Anxia with tears welling up in her eyes.
What on earth is going on? Has this little Beckham gone mad?
“That’s well said. Since you’re my cousin, shouldn’t you return the things you borrowed from me?” Jiang Anxia said it as a statement, not a question.
“Things? What things? Those are clearly…” Jiang Xiaohua’s expression changed, as if she had thought of something.
“Then I’ll tell you all about it.” Jiang Anxia spoke clearly, word by word.
"You borrowed two pieces of Dacron clothing, a pair of pants, three pounds of pastries, a pound of candy, and some other odds and ends from me. I don't expect you to return any more; let's round it up to eighty."
After hearing Jiang Anxia's words, Jiang Xiaohua cursed inwardly. Where did she get so much money? This little bitch was trying to force her to her death!
"Xiaxia, didn't you give these to me willingly?"
Jiang Anxia glanced at her sideways, "Whether it's a gift or a loan, I believe you know perfectly well in your heart. If you don't want to pay it back, I have a record of every single thing I've lent you."
Jiang Anxia was truly grateful that the original owner wasn't so foolish as to not know to write down every single thing given to Jiang Xiaohua and have Jiang Xiaohua sign it.
“You…” Jiang Xiaohua remembered. No wonder every time she wanted to take something away, this little Bei Jianren made her write her name. So that’s what he was waiting for her here.
