"Xiaxia? What brings you here?" Father Jiang asked curiously. Why would Jiang Anxia be here?
"Mom asked me to call you home for dinner." Jiang Anxia approached her father and relayed her mother's instructions.
"Look at me, I didn't even notice the time," Mr. Jiang said with a sudden realization.
He didn't bring a watch when he came out, so he didn't realize how much time had passed.
I originally thought that Zou Lanjuan would just treat and bandage the wound, and it wouldn't take long.
Two hours have passed, and Zou Lanjuan still hasn't returned.
"It's alright. Dad, has the matter here been resolved?" Jiang Anxia glanced at the others before looking away.
"No, you go back first! Just ask your mother to leave me some food. I'll go back as soon as I've finished dealing with this." Mr. Jiang sighed.
He wanted to resolve the matter as soon as possible, but the victim, Zou Lanjuan, had not returned, and the matter had not been properly handled, so he couldn't leave now.
“Okay.” Jiang Anxia frowned slightly, clearly not expecting this.
"Go back! Don't go hungry." As he spoke, Jiang's father raised his hand and patted Jiang Anxia's head.
"Okay." Jiang Anxia nodded obediently, took one last look around, and then turned to leave.
Based on the few glances she had just taken, she was certain that the incident was caused by Tian Wenjia and Su Qianxue.
As for Zou Lanjuan, she was probably just unlucky today, encountering all these things.
With her mind preoccupied, Jiang Anxia arrived home quickly.
"How is it? Is everything settled?" Jiang's mother had been waiting for Jiang Anxia at the kitchen door, so she asked as soon as Jiang Anxia returned.
"No, Dad said to just leave him some food, and he'll come back once he's done with things," Jiang Anxia said quickly, noticing the anxiety in her mother's eyes.
"Alright! Let's eat first." Hearing Jiang Anxia's words, Jiang's mother breathed a sigh of relief.
It's good that nothing bad happened.
She was quite worried after being away for so long, fearing that her father might have fallen and gotten into an accident on his way back.
“Okay.” Jiang Anxia nodded and took her mother’s hand as they walked toward the main room.
"Xiaxia, tell me quickly, what happened at the educated youth compound?" Jiang Nanqing was extremely curious about what had happened at the educated youth compound.
"I don't know either," Jiang Anxia shook her head.
She didn't see anything! Everyone was sitting when she arrived.
No one spoke; they all stared intently at the doorway.
"Ugh! That's boring." Jiang Nan lowered her head in disappointment.
He thought Xiaxia might see something if she went there, but she didn't see anything.
"Say it again, and you're eating." Jiang's mother slapped Jiang Nanqing on the back of the head and said irritably.
What a simpleton. He's nothing like her son; he's too simple-minded.
Sigh! I hope my future second daughter-in-law won't look down on me!
The child is already like this, and there's no way to change him; oh well, let him dislike him if he wants!
"Ouch! Mom, what are you doing!" Jiang Nanqing cried out in pain, clutching the back of her head with innocent eyes.
He said something, and Jiang's mother slapped him across the face.
Jiang Nanqiu and Jiang Anxia exchanged a smile and shook their heads helplessly.
The second brother said these things while eating, wasn't he just trying to get Mother Jiang to beat him?
As the days passed and the weather warmed, the call to production was sounded again.
Jiang Anxia stood on the hillside, watching the people working in the fields.
I can't believe how fast time flies.
A lot has happened in just one month.
Jiang Nanqing returned to her unit on the third day of the Lunar New Year. The incident at the educated youth compound was also resolved; Tian Wenjia and Su Qianxue each paid ten yuan to Zou Lanjuan and were punished by being forced to carry manure. Jiang Xiaohua discovered Li Linshu's secret not long after marrying him and subsequently filed for divorce, but the matter was ultimately dropped.
Jiang Xing and Jiang Wang, the two little ones, also went to school. Jiang Nanqiu also returned to his job.
Now she's the only one left in the family who has nothing to do but come up the mountain to check on things.
At home, apart from letting her help with the fire in the kitchen, her father and his family didn't let her do anything else.
They've waited so long, but they still won't let her go to the fields to help.
But then she thought about it again and decided it didn't matter. If they wouldn't let her go, she would just cook for them.
That way they can have a ready-made meal when they get home.
Suddenly, Jiang Anxia's eyes narrowed, and she stared straight at a certain direction.
She had just seen a gray rabbit run past.
With a slight movement of her feet, Jiang Anxia cautiously approached, making no sound.
Soon, she spotted the gray rabbit. It was grazing under a tree, completely unaware of Jiang Anxia's approach.
Jiang Anxia took out a bamboo basket from her spatial storage and placed it over the gray rabbit.
In an instant, the gray rabbit struggled violently in the basket, trying to escape.
Jiang Anxia chuckled. Now that he was in her hands, he shouldn't even think about escaping.
Once the gray rabbit calmed down, Jiang Anxia lifted the basket a crack, looked down, and grabbed the rabbit's ear.
The rabbit struggled again, but finally gave up when it realized it couldn't break free.
This made Jiang Anxia smile happily when she saw it.
He grabbed a vine, tied the rabbit up tightly, and threw it into the basket.
I never expected to have such a fruitful first trip up the mountain after the start of spring.
Jiang Anxia put her mind at ease and started walking towards the mountains.
Along the way, my trouser legs were soaked with dew.
However, Jiang Anxia didn't care. It was like this when she went up the mountain in the morning. The dew hadn't dried yet, so it was normal to get it on her skin.
So what if it gets wet? It's no problem at all.
