Chapter 18 Say It Out Loud

When Ren Jingxiao left, the sky was already filled with stars.

A man and a tiger were walking on the road. Dapao could obviously feel his owner's good mood and wagged his tail even more happily.

Ren Jingxiao's home was at the edge of the village, at the entrance to the mountain. Two medium-sized stone houses made it convenient for him to enter and guard the mountain.

Mountains are usually guarded by cannons. With cannons there, the guys on the mountain usually don't dare to come down.

He packed up quickly because he had to get up early the next day. He made an agreement with the director of the glass factory to exchange two pheasants for a piece of glass.

He agreed and made an appointment to pick it up tomorrow.

Thinking about what the little fox still needed, he soon fell asleep.

As for Ningxia, he put the whistle on a string and hung it around his neck, and slept soundly, as if the muscles that had been tense for a long time had finally relaxed.

The book did not mention Ren Jingxiao, a passerby and a cannon fodder, and she felt that they were a perfect match.

The next morning, Ningxia, under the disapproving gazes of the village ladies, carried a basket and went to cut grass for pigs happily with a group of little kids.

The children were much more innocent and were full of curiosity when they looked at this sister who was much older than them.

"Big sister, are you pregnant with your little brother?" He understood, because when his mother was pregnant with his brother, she would also come to cut grass for the pigs.

Ningxia was completely bewildered. Who had spread the rumor? She'd just gotten married yesterday, and now she was pregnant? Even a rocket launch couldn't be that fast.

"Who said that?" Ningxia looked at the radish-headed boy in front of her, who was very dark and thin.

"Hey, do I need anyone to tell me this? I understand it all. My mother was like this when she was pregnant. She had to be careful and could only do the easy work." He looked like he knew everything and he was not a kid anymore.

Ningxia was very upset.

"Sister is not pregnant. I am just in poor health, so I can only pick grass for pigs with you." Ningxia did not feel ashamed to pretend to be weak in front of the children.

She is weak and she has her reasons, and besides, she may not be able to defeat these kids.

"Come on, who among you can tell me which grass is suitable for pigs to eat? I will reward you with a candy."

Ningxia took out a handful of hard candies that she had prepared in advance and wanted to get them into the child's heart. There was nothing that a piece of candy couldn't solve.

"Me! Me! Me me!!" They gathered around and chattered, their eyes staring longingly at the candy in Ningxia's hand.

This is sugar, which many of them have only heard of but never tasted. Only during the Chinese New Year would their families give them a cup of saccharin mixed with water to let them taste its sweetness.

Under the guidance of these children, Ningxia learned about the grass that pigs can eat and rewarded each of them with a candy.

Some could not wait to peel them open and stuff them into their mouths, while others secretly hid them in their pockets. Ningxia smiled and lowered her head to pull out the weeds seriously.

This job is very free. She can rest when she is tired, drink some water mixed with malted milk when she is thirsty, and eat some candy from time to time. It's really nice.

When it was time to get off work, the scorer looked at the pig grass she had brought back and was speechless.

"You can't even record half a work point!" Those children were fighting and making noises, and every one of them was recorded with a centimeter or two.

"It's okay, just leave it for now. I'll collect it in the afternoon and we can both get one work point."

Ningxia ignored the incredulous looks from others; she felt the intensity of the work suited her perfectly. One work point a day, no more.

When they returned to the educated youth center, Cai Xiaoya winked at her. Before she could understand, she saw that her house was full of people standing.

Ren Jingxiao had already replaced her windows. The glass back then wasn't as transparent and thin as it was later. The glass now was very thick, with those wavy patterns and dark patterns printed on it.

It’s not transparent. Ningxia is planning to make a curtain to block it if it is transparent.

"Comrade Ren, where did you get this glass? We're paying for it too, so could you help us get a piece too?"

He Jiahui was very satisfied with the glass. If they also installed one, they would not be afraid of the strongest winds in winter.

There was no response. Everyone looked at He Jiahui, who smiled awkwardly.

She forgot that this man was not easy to talk to. She just saw that he helped Ning Zhiqing make things and buy things several times, and seemed very easy to talk to, so she thought he had changed his personality.

"What are you all doing together?" As soon as Ningxia finished speaking, Ren Jingxiao raised his head, and there was no trace of impatience on his face.

The ferocious face instantly became very gentle, Ningxia smiled sweetly at him. The two did not shy away from each other.

The educated youth around were all shocked. They looked at Ningxia and then at Ren Jingxiao. Everyone felt it was incredible.

"Ning Zhiqing, what are you doing?" Wu Jiajia smiled. She had never imagined that Ningxia could be so desperate. Finding a peasant was fine, but finding such a wild man.

"He is my boyfriend." She said it openly with a smile on her face.

When Ren Jingxiao heard her words, his eyes sparkled like stars. He thought that as long as she liked him, he would always treat her well.

If she doesn't like him anymore in the future, he will still stay with her silently, but she says she is his partner.

He understands what a partner is. They can spend every day together and stay together for the rest of their lives.

They were looking at each other lovingly, while other people's hearts were in turmoil.

Wang Zhiwei thought she was fickle, while Qin He felt he was a step too late. Zhang Kangcheng was very disappointed. How did this educated young man Ning find a partner?

As for Xu Hengzheng, his heart was twisted and ready to explode. If not for Zhang Yining following him like a dog-skin plaster, and Zhang Kangcheng watching him covetously from the side.

He didn't even dare to look at her, let alone talk to her. How could he let her be deceived by a peasant from the countryside in just a few days?

If he had just said he liked her, Ning Zhiqing would have known what to choose. He couldn't express how difficult it was for him, how much he felt sad, and now he just wished Zhang Yining would disappear forever.

Besides her family background, what else does she have? He thought of his father's instructions and closed his eyes in pain.

One day, once he had gotten through it, like a carp leaping over the dragon gate, he would no longer be bound by the constraints of the Zhang family and would boldly speak his mind.

Believe that everything can turn around.

While the male educated youth were having complicated thoughts, the female ones were mostly happy. Finding a partner was good, and once she found one, they would be popular again.

Besides, it's not easy for her to break up with her boyfriend. She will have to spend her whole life here facing the earth and the sky.

Cai Xiaoya was also very happy. She was happy that no one would dare to bully Ning Zhiqing anymore. Ning Zhiqing was pretty, and she had heard everyone discussing her at work more than once. The village was in chaos, and she was really worried that something would happen to her one day.

Now it's all good. Although she has just arrived, she can feel that Comrade Ren will definitely be able to protect her.

Chen Yaoyao even felt that it was as she expected.

Zhang Yining was very envious. When would she be able to get Brother Hengzheng to generously admit that she was his partner?

Ningxia looked at everyone's faces, which changed like chameleons. It was not difficult to imagine what the team would look like that afternoon.

But so what? She didn't care. They were together, so they were together. There was nothing shameful about it, so of course she had to say it out loud.
