Chapter 3 A kind-hearted person

Ningxia wanted to live, but that didn't mean she had to live a cowardly life. No one in the Ning family prepared any supplies for her to go to the countryside, and even her subsidies for going to the countryside were taken away.

Ningxia went out and saw the whole house. It was a two-bedroom, one-living room house. The space was not big, but things were piled up like mountains, leaving no space even for a foot.

The wooden bed she had just been lying on was a partition built in the living room. Usually, Ning Jiao and Ning Lian lived there, so she could only sleep on the floor.

It was fine in the summer, but in the winter, even if she put on all her clothes, she still couldn't keep warm. She didn't know how the original owner survived. In her memory, the original owner seemed to have never worn a new piece of clothing.

Those patched clothes were what Ning Jiao and the others had left behind. She would just curl up in the corner and cry silently.

Ning Jiao is a nice person in front of others, but secretly jealous of her looks.

Ning Lian is the most shrewd. Since the original owner is not liked by her family, as long as she gets benefits, she doesn't care whether the original owner is cold or not.

I think even if she froze to death, she could still save food for the family.

Ningxia turned and entered Ning's mother's room. The room was in a mess. She found the iron box that Ning's mother had hidden based on her memory.

She vaguely remembered that all the valuables in the house were placed in this box. She hurriedly opened the iron box and found the household registration book and a passbook. She excitedly opened the passbook and found four hundred yuan in it, plus more than seventy yuan in scattered change and some bills.

He felt a little regretful, but then he realized that this was the 1970s and he had a family to support. This money was what Ning's mother had saved her entire life, so it wasn't a small amount. He happily put it into the space.

Seeing a locked cabinet next to it, I thought there must be something valuable hidden there.

I went to the kitchen, got a knife with a notch, and split the wooden door open with one stroke. I don’t know who this broken cabinet can protect me from.

There were a few damp biscuits and some slightly yellowed white flour, a paper-wrapped bag of brown sugar, and something else that was black and hard to tell. The more valuable thing was Ning Jiao's dowry.

A brand new cotton quilt, a thermos, a thermos bottle, a betrothal gift from her eldest sister, and a watch. Her brother-in-law is such a good man. Wherever he goes, Ningxia gets everything clean.

After searching every room again, he found more than 20 yuan and a brand new floral cloth at Ning Jiao's place, 7 yuan at Ning Lian's place, and only 2 yuan at Ning Xin's place.

The whole family was born in the Year of the Rat, and their nests were everywhere. In order not to miss any, Ningxia also put the kitchen stove and charcoal into the space.

After the "spring cleaning", Ningxia felt much more comfortable looking at the clean house. She took the household registration book and passbook and went out. She lowered her head and quickly walked out of the family compound.

He didn't say a word when he met acquaintances along the way. The original owner was a taciturn person and the more he talked, the more mistakes he made.

There are always gossipers in every era.

"The third girl from the Ning family is someone who can endure hardships, but her appearance is too conspicuous."

"That's right. He looks like a dishonest person. If anyone dares to hire someone like him, he'll get into trouble sooner or later."

"I heard that the Ning family wants her to go to the countryside. It's good to go there so that she won't be bothered by those confused young men in the building."

"She looks like this? Going to the countryside..."

Ningxia listened silently in her heart. Suffering? She had endured everything in her life, except suffering.

Ningxia found an uninhabited place. It was said that the family had been sent down to the countryside, and no one dared to come here. He observed secretly for a while and then slipped into the space.

She took out a piece of cloth and wrapped her entire face, then took out her passbook, intending to withdraw the money. If she couldn't withdraw the money, she would think of other ways.

The teller took the passbook and looked at the information in the deposit slip. After checking it with the household registration book, he withdrew the money to her without saying a word.

Ningxia turned around and saw an uncle dressed exactly the same way and seemed to understand something.

Nowadays, everyone who saves money hides it. Coming to withdraw money is like being a thief, and you are afraid that thieves will take advantage of it.

There are many more exaggerated things than hers. As long as the money is reasonable and the procedures are complete, the staff will not care.

After withdrawing the money, I found an opportunity to put it on my space, and then went straight to the registration office for educated youth with my household registration book.

She was a person who would never let anyone stay overnight, and she promptly signed up the three siblings of the Ning family to go to the countryside.

You can choose your address when you register on your own. Which address should you choose? The Northwest is great. It is a vast and beautiful place. She is a really kind and good person.

The comrades in the Youth League Office all looked puzzled. In this day and age, are there still people who volunteer to go to the countryside?

But it's also good, as it takes up one more spot and makes their work easier. Now that three people have signed up, the staff immediately wrote out the notes and treated her as nicely as possible.

Ningxia originally wanted to collect the subsidy for going to the countryside, but those people said that each person could only receive one share, and Ningxia's share had already been collected by Ning's mother.

She saw the note only a few days later than her, and she was afraid that something might happen if time passed.

After completing such an important task, Ningxia felt much better. After thinking about it, she decided to go to Teacher Chu to get her graduation certificate.

The streets in the 1970s were filled with black, white and gray. Occasionally, a girl wearing brightly colored clothes would definitely be the highlight of the crowd.

People coming and going, even if they are dressed simply and look pale and skinny, have smiles on their faces. They are much happier than those people in later generations who are burdened by mortgage and car loans.

Ningxia breathed in the fresh air without car exhaust, and the dull feeling in her heart dissipated. She quickly walked to the high school she remembered.

"Ningxia, I was just planning to go to your house to find you. Your graduation certificate has arrived." Ningxia had just arrived at the teachers' family building, and the door was opened before she even knocked.

Teacher Chu was about to go out to look for Ningxia. In the original owner's memory, Teacher Chu was very kind to her. When the original owner was so hungry that she had to drink water all the time, Teacher Chu would save his own food for her.
