Chapter 16: Using the best to defeat the best

Zhang Guilan, who was standing there secretly laughing, felt something hit her butt hard. She cursed loudly, "Who is so blind as to throw things around?"

Yao Caiying stood behind her, hands on her hips, looking down at her with a sneer, "Who is so blind as to come here and act like a troublemaker?"

Yang Liu thought about it carefully in his mind and saw that the woman opposite him had a pair of triangular eyes, two curved willow-leaf eyebrows, and a slightly raised corner of her lips. She had an expression that was intimidating without being angry. It was obvious at first glance that she was a tough character.

She hurried over to pick up the lost shoe and handed it over, calling out sweetly, "Second Aunt."

Yao Caiying looked her up and down, and seeing that she was intact, she felt relieved and said solemnly, "Next time you run into a scoundrel like this, come to me directly. Girls like you are no match for her."

She has to take action to deal with Zhang Guilan, a top-notch person.

Yang Liu smiled and nodded. Now that Second Aunt was here, it seemed that there was no place for her to be of any use.

When Zhang Guilan saw that the person behind her was her mortal enemy, she immediately lost most of her anger, but she still didn't dare to show it on her face.

"Don't think I'm afraid of you just because you're in large numbers." She raised her head, puffed out her sagging chest and snorted heavily.

Just now, relying on the fact that she was older than Yang Liu, she held her back very straight when she spoke.

But this time she was facing an old rival who had fought with her several times without gaining any advantage, and she had obviously lost her previous aggressive momentum.

Yao Caiying wasn't intimidated by her at all. She sneered, "You're an elderly woman, buried up to your neck in the dirt, yet you don't think twice about speaking politely. Instead, you're pestering a little girl with such shameless words. My niece married Chu Zhiqing after getting a certificate from the Party Secretary. How can you so easily question her with your bare mouth?"

"Besides, whether the couple sleeps together or not is none of your business. Do you peek under their door every day? You spend all day nagging at other people's affairs instead of doing anything serious. I think you're just sour grapes."

"Everyone in the village knows that Chu Zhiqing is a handsome man. My sister-in-law has such a son-in-law. Everyone is envious. It's no use being jealous. He won't look down on your daughter." After saying this, she covered her mouth and said sarcastically, "That's right. With a mother-in-law like you, anyone with a better eye wouldn't look down on your family."

What Zhang Guilan is most proud of is her own daughter, but it just happens that the Yang family has good feng shui, so all the girls born to them are very pretty, even better than her own Xiuzhu, especially Yang Liu.

She hated it most when people talked about her daughter. Every time they talked about it, it felt like a poke in her heart and lungs. The anger in her heart suddenly shot up to the top of her head. She rolled up her sleeves and pounced on Yao Caiying like a toad, shouting, "You bitch, I'll tear your mouth off and teach you a lesson for talking nonsense."

Yao Caiying was no pushover either, and farmers usually worked in the fields a lot, so their hands were very strong. The fighting power of the two should not be underestimated, and they started fighting in an instant.

In just a quarter of an hour, both of them had bruises on their faces, but Zhang Guilan was clearly at a disadvantage.

When Aunt Dazhu brought people over, they saw Zhang Guilan rolling on the ground, crying her heart out and cursing.

Seeing her in such a horrible state, if Tian Shouyi hadn't been standing next to her, she would have laughed out loud. It was so satisfying.

After all, he is the secretary. Yang Liu felt it necessary to explain the whole story in front of everyone to prevent him from causing trouble for their two families in the village in the future.

Although officials always say on the surface that they will not abuse their power for personal gain or bend the law, there is no telling how they might be plotting against others behind the scenes.

No matter how close they are, can they be closer than the person next to them?

Yao Caiying stood aside and saw her niece speaking so confidently and logically, which immediately refreshed her understanding of her.

After listening to this, Tian Shouyi just said that it was his mother-in-law who was making trouble for no reason, and asked them to forgive her. He would definitely give her a good beating when he returned.

It was over. Without saying a word, he pulled the person up from the ground and dragged him back like a chicken.

Li Qiuhe saw Yao Caiying's hair was torn apart and there were several claw marks on her hands. She looked guilty and asked, "Caiying, are you okay?"

Although she is the eldest sister-in-law, she is cowardly. Whenever she was bullied in the village, it was her sister-in-law who stood up to help her vent her anger.

Because of this, she was injured many times.

Yao Caiying reached out and pulled the hair tie off her head, then she smoothed her hair over and tied it up again. She waved her hands and said, "It's okay, just think of it as a dog bite. Oh, and I brought back a lot of potatoes from my mother's house yesterday. I'll have Liu Liu go get some for me tonight."

Yang Liu went inside and got some safflower oil, handed it to her and said, "Second Aunt, rub this on your wound when you get home later. It will heal faster."

"Okay, I understand."

After saying that, she walked away with confidence.

It was as if the person fighting on the ground just now was someone else.

There was no sign of embarrassment on her.

Yang Liu thought that her second aunt was truly a heroine.

After the others left, Li Qiuhe sighed and said hesitantly, "Liu Liu, how about we gather ten eggs and return them to Zhang Guilan so she won't keep nagging about this in the future?"

"Mom, don't worry. She was beaten so badly this time that she doesn't dare to say anything anymore. Besides, those eggs weren't given by her, so why shouldn't we eat them?"

After returning home, Zhang Guilan was still crying heartbroken. Wiping away her tears, she said, "I don't want to live anymore. Outsiders bully me, and my family doesn't treat me like a human being. What's the point of living? I'd rather die."
