Chapter 108 Provocation

Chapter 108 Provocation

Early in the morning, Tang Jingmo and Xiaobai were called to Gu Xicheng's office.

He held an encrypted document in his hand.

"The latest intelligence," he handed it to Tang Jingmo.

"Hunter secretly met with the Northern Federation's security adviser last week. Our people didn't find out what they discussed, but it was definitely not just about the competition."

Xiao Bai checked the modified pistol in his hand and said without looking up: "No matter what conspiracy he has, he is just a paper tiger in front of absolute strength."

Tang Jingmo quickly browsed through the documents and his expression became even gloomier.

"The people of the North have recently made a breakthrough in the field of 'unconventional weapons'," he whispered, "and they need a stage to demonstrate them... and a suitable test subject."

The three of them were silent for a moment, and they all understood the meaning. This competition was far more dangerous than it seemed.

"Remember," Gu Xicheng said at last, his eyes moving back and forth between them, "The gold medal is important, but coming back alive is more important. I have already prepared everything for your wedding, don't let my efforts go to waste."

Xiao Bai smiled and put the pistol into the holster on the side of his leg: "Don't worry, Chief Gu, we will grow old together."

She turned to Tang Jingmo, her eyes gleaming with excitement before the battle, "Are you ready, dear Commander Tang?"

Tang Jingmo adjusted the tactical watch on his wrist, and a barely visible smile appeared on his lips: "Anytime, my dear fiancée."

The sound of helicopter rotors was heard again, this time coming to pick them up.

The two walked side by side towards the tarmac, with the postponed wedding behind them and an unknown battlefield ahead of them.

But at this moment, they only had one thought in their minds -

No matter who the opponent is or what their purpose is, we must make their plans fail and let them see what the awakening of the dragon means.

The cold wind from the Northern Federation scraped across his cheeks like a knife, and the white air exhaled by Xiaobai quickly condensed in the air.

The competition lasts for ten days. As usual, teams from each country can freely choose training areas for adaptive training in the first three days.

In theory, there should be no direct conflict between the teams during these three days.

But it is easy to tell that only a few people can abide by a gentleman's agreement. Direct conflicts are not allowed, but that does not mean that "accidents" cannot happen.

In previous years, many countries had to withdraw from the competition during these three days due to accidents.

Xiaobai believes that this time will be no exception.

She and Tang Jingmo had just finished the first day of adaptation training and were returning to the dormitory along a secluded path outside the base.

This road was chosen by Tang Jingmo - it is one-third farther than the main road, but it is rarely traveled and is most suitable for saying things that you don't want others to hear.

"Hunter has been observing you today." Tang Jingmo's voice was almost blended into the sound of the wind. Only Xiaobai, who was walking closely beside him, could hear it clearly.

Xiao Bai chuckled, his boots breaking a thin layer of ice. "He looked at me like he was looking at the steak on his plate at lunch."

She paused, "But I'm more concerned about the Japanese representative next to him, the one named Sato, who has been staring at us like a venomous snake all day long."

Tang Jingmo was about to answer when he suddenly stopped.

Xiaobai's muscles also tensed up at the same moment—they both noticed something unusual at the same time.

It was too quiet. The sounds from the distant training ground that could be heard ten minutes ago had completely disappeared.

It seems that some people can't wait!

"Six people." Tang Jingmo's lips barely moved. "Two at three o'clock, on a tree; three at nine o'clock, in the bushes; and one..."

"Twenty meters behind us, just moved into position." Xiaobai continued his words, his right hand naturally resting on the tactical dagger at his waist.

"They are masked, but their concealment is completely in the style of Japanese hermits."

The two men still maintained a walking posture, but every muscle was ready to explode.

There was a bend in the path ahead, where there was a broken street lamp. The light flickered, casting irregular shadows on the snowy road.

"Turning the corner to start the fight?" Xiaobai asked softly.

Tang Jingmo nodded imperceptibly: "Old rules, you go left and I go right."

As they turned the corner, the first bullet flew past Xiaobai's ear and embedded deeply into the tree trunk behind them.

Almost at the same moment, Xiaobai and Tang Jingmo pounced to the sides like two bullets.

Xiaobai slid three meters on the snow, grabbed a handful of snow and squeezed it into a hard lump.

The attacker who jumped down from the tree was hit in the face by a piece of snow before he landed on the ground, and blood immediately seeped out of the mask.

Xiaobai didn't give him a chance to breathe, he knocked him down with a sweeping kick, and hit his solar plexus hard with the handle of the dagger - enough to make him unconscious for an hour without causing any permanent damage.

"You dare with just this little ability--" Xiaobai's sarcasm came to an abrupt end. She lowered her head suddenly, and a samurai sword slashed across her head, cutting off several flying hairs.

Kenichi Sato!

The Japanese representative had sneaked up behind her at some point, his samurai sword glowing blue in the moonlight - the blade was definitely poisoned.

Xiaobai's pupils contracted. This was not just an ordinary show of force, this was a deadly killing move!

"Jing Mo! The knife is poisonous!" she shouted, and at the same time flipped backwards to create some distance.

Sato followed closely, the sword light weaving a deadly web.

Xiaobai continued to retreat until his back hit a fir tree - there was no place to retreat.

A hint of pride flashed in Sato's eyes, and he raised his sword with both hands above his head, preparing to end the fight with a chop.

Just as the blade was about to fall, Xiaobai suddenly turned sideways and the samurai sword cut deeply into the tree trunk.

She seized this fleeting opportunity and chopped Sato's knife-holding wrist with a knife. The sound of broken bones was clearly audible.

Sato groaned and quickly pulled out a short knife from his waist with his left hand.

But Xiaobai was faster than him - the tip of her boot hooked a piece of frozen mud on the ground and hit Sato's eyes accurately.

The moment his vision was blocked, her fist had already hit his Adam's apple hard.

Sato fell to the ground like a rag bag, curled up in pain.

Xiao Bai kicked his dagger away and said coldly, "Tell your master to send a more ferocious dog next time."

On the other side, Tang Jingmo faced three attackers at the same time.

He dodged the first man's punch, grabbed the man's arm and threw him over his shoulder, slamming him into the second attacker.

When the two men fell to the ground, the third man's stun gun had already hit Tang Jingmo on the back of his neck.

Tang Jingmo seemed to have eyes on the back of his head. He suddenly squatted down and the electric baton brushed against his hair.

He elbowed the attacker behind him in the abdomen, and when the attacker bent over, he slashed his carotid artery with a knife.

The attacker fell limply, and the stun gun fell to the snow, making a slight "sizzling" sound.

"Hunter, is this all the courage you have?" Tang Jingmo said to a place in the darkness, "You let your men die while you hide behind?"
