Chapter 11 The Price of Marrying Her
After a while, there were fewer people at the train station.
After the last customer made their purchase, there was still half a basin of conchs left.
It was one o'clock in the afternoon. Yu Yaoyang and Rutang sat on mats to rest. The street, which was just crowded with people, was now only filled with a few people passing by.
The passenger flow at the train station is like this. When it is busy, there are a lot of people, and when it is less, there is no one. Everyone moves according to the train schedule.
Seeing that she was fanning herself with her hands because of the heat, Yu Yaoyang wanted to pour her a glass of water, but when he picked up the kettle, he found that all the water in it was gone.
"I'm going to the train station to get some water and see when the next train arrives." He stood up and said.
Rutang nodded. Her throat was about to smoke and she felt a little sore from talking continuously.
Yu Yaoyang was a natural at doing business. When Rutang just told him that there was no one there because no train was arriving at the station, he immediately learned the lesson and went into the station to ask when the next train would arrive.
The tea egg stand next to them didn't sell many eggs at noon. The stall owner had a gloomy face and leaned on his stall with one hand on his waist. When Yaoyang left with the thermos, the stall owner said to Rutang in a gloomy tone: "I didn't expect you two were so good at business at such a young age. Didn't your family arrange work for you? Why do you come out to do this instead of working in the factory?"
This is a mockery of Rutang and Yu Yaoyang for being young and uneducated. Faced with Rutang's booming business, the stall owner's mood can only be described as envy, jealousy and hatred.
"There's still a little left. Would you like to try it?" Rutang poured the remaining soup into a cup and handed it to the female stall owner. "My man has a straightforward personality and speaks without restraint, but he has a good heart."
The female stall owner was stunned for a moment, and her face suddenly felt a little hot.
She had been watching from the sidelines with a sarcastic look on her face the whole morning, and even cursed in her heart that the other party wouldn't be able to sell a single copy. She felt ashamed of Rutang for treating her like this.
"Well, no need..." The female stall owner waved her hands with an annoyed look on her face, and Rutang smiled and stuffed the paper cup into her hand.
"It's not easy to get out. I see you didn't have time to eat lunch. Try this."
The female stall owner's face turned even redder. She thought about how she had just mocked the man for not doing his job properly, but when she listened to the man's heartwarming talk, it became immediately clear what her inferiority was.
Rutang broke the deadlock with a cup of leftover conch shells, and the woman selling tea eggs soon started chatting with her.
Rutang first chatted with her about some trivial family matters, and then when he felt that the time was right, he got straight to the point.
"Sister Zhang, you've been setting up a stall here for a few months. I want to ask you about someone."
"Who is it?" Sister Zhang was the one selling tea eggs. After eating Rutang's conch, her mood became warm.
"There is a middle-aged woman named Sister Ying, she is about fifty years old and this tall." Rutang pointed to her neck. She was asking about the woman trafficker who teamed up with Jingquan to kidnap her in her previous life.
She set up a stall at the train station. On the one hand, there was a large flow of people, many of whom were from other places. Another reason was that this was where Jing Quan met the human traffickers.
When she was selling goods just now, she kept looking around and didn't see Sister Ying.
According to the trajectory of the previous life, Sister Ying should be near the train station now.
"Why are you asking about her... Hey, I don't know anything." Sister Zhang realized that she had said the wrong thing, and quickly put down the half-eaten conch and pretended to sort out the tea eggs.
Seeing her reaction, Rutang guessed that she must have seen Sister Ying committing a crime. As a small business owner who has been staying in one place for a long time, she didn't want to offend these evil people.
"One of my classmates mentioned this to me. He said there was this guy at the train station. He didn't tell me what he did specifically, but he said he was pretty impressive."
Sister Zhang looked around and saw that there was no one around. She then covered her mouth with her right hand and whispered, "Sister, I advise you not to ask any more questions. Let's just do our small business honestly. If we see something we shouldn't see in the future, we'll just pretend we didn't see it."
Rutang nodded calmly and changed the subject.
But she was even more determined in her heart that she must catch the hateful human trafficker Ying Jie. Judging from Sister Zhang's attitude, Ying Jie had harmed many people.
When Yu Yaoyang came back with the thermos, Rutang was chatting animatedly with Sister Zhang. Yu Yaoyang was a little surprised. Why did Rutang get involved with this gossipy woman?
"I asked around, and they told me that only people can get on after 3 o'clock. Although there are trains coming into the station during these two hours, not many people will get off."
Yu Yaoyang poured the water from the thermos into the bowl, and it turned out to be tea.
I found out the detailed time of the train arriving at the station and also received tea. Many signs pointed to one thing.
"You've won people over with your virtue again?" Rutang asked. Did he give the staff money or cigarettes?
"Don't worry about the details. Just drink some tea and relax. Then you can go to the city with me to deliver the food. After we finish delivering the food, we'll come back and sell the rest." Yu Yaoyang put his hands on his hips and exchanged a cigarette for a handful of tea. He also became friends with the staff at the railway station announcement office. This deal was not a loss.
The tea was boiling hot. Rutang took two clean bowls and poured the tea back and forth. When it was no longer so hot, he gave him half.
Even though it was just the cheapest tea, it had a unique flavor when the two of them tasted it together after their work. Yu Yaoyang felt that it was the best tea he had ever tasted, and the tea she handed over was sweeter than the ones sold outside.
After drinking tea to replenish their energy, the two put the things on the tractor, and Yu Yaoyang drove the tractor to take her to deliver the goods.
The tractor drove to the back door of the tobacco factory and asked her to wait in the tractor while he went in through the back door.
After a while, he led a middle-aged man out. The two men talked as they walked and seemed to be quite familiar with each other.
The two men came to the front of the car, and the middle-aged man was stunned when he saw Rutang.
"Yoko, this is..."
"My wife is Rutang, and this is Uncle Wang, the accountant at the tobacco factory and also a big customer of ours." Yu Yaoyang automatically omitted the word "future" in "future daughter-in-law". This was not only convenient for the introduction, but also made him feel good.
When Uncle Wang heard Yu Yaoyang say "wife", he was completely stunned.
"You're married?!"
"We'll get the marriage certificate soon. Please pay me the rice quickly. I still have to go to the guesthouse to deliver the goods."
Seeing him talking to others in a casual manner, Rutang guessed that this was not an ordinary way of "conquering people with virtue". A few cigarettes would definitely not be enough. He should at least give him one cigarette, right? Maybe even some wine.
The tobacco factory is a large factory with thousands of employees. The canteen has a great demand for rice, and many people want to deliver rice to the canteen. Yu Yaoyang must have used a lot of connections to be able to occupy this spot.
But this time Rutang guessed wrong. Yu Yaoyang didn't give Uncle Wang a single cigarette. They had another relationship.
The accountant did not settle the bill for Yu Yaoyang right away. He just stared at Rutang with a dull expression, muttering to himself, "Does your father know about your marriage? No, you can't get married. If you marry a country girl, your household registration won't be able to move to the capital with your father!"
Move your household registration to the capital? Rutang was very surprised. She didn't know this in her previous life, and Yu Yaoyang had never mentioned it.
