Chapter 31 You're holding back and running
Rutang looked at Yu Yaoyang, who was whistling and looking up at the sky, as if everything had nothing to do with him.
"Let's settle everyone's bills first." Rutang weighed the goods skillfully. With the lesson learned from Aunt Six, those who came to sell seafood didn't dare to cheat anymore.
While Rutang and Hao Mei were chatting, they picked out all the poor quality seafood.
The villagers who witnessed the whole process had their own opinions, and everyone felt that Rutang was right.
Aunt Liu cursed Yu Yaoyang while trying to make money from him, she deserved to be rejected.
"If you are free today, you can dig some, help us spit out the sand in advance, clean it and send it over. We will add an extra cent per pound." Rutang said to everyone.
When the villagers heard that they could earn more money, they were overjoyed. For them, cleaning was not troublesome and it was good to earn a little more.
Rutang paid everyone's bill and sent everyone out. Yingzi walked at the back. When there was no one around, she pulled Rutang aside and whispered, "Rutang, are you all going into the city today?"
Rutang nodded. She planned to take her mother into the city to have her legs checked.
"It's better for Yangzi to stay at your house. Those people won't dare to come. I'm worried when Yangzi is not here..." Yingzi hesitated to speak. She was a kind-hearted girl. She saw everything that happened today. She was afraid that Aunt Liu, who was so narrow-minded, would take revenge.
"Just let her come. I was worried that she wouldn't come." Rutang held Yingzi's hand and patted it. "Thank you."
Yingzi's face turned red when she was told that, and she ran away, saying that she had something to do at home.
"Yingzi is a good girl, but unfortunately she is unlucky and married the wrong person. Alas." Hao Mei sighed as she looked at Yingzi's back.
"Why do you say that?" Rutang asked in confusion. She didn't have much impression of the village in her previous life. She just remembered that Yingzi's husband's family was quite poor, but she couldn't remember anything else.
"Her husband always beats her, I'm worried..." Hao Mei looked at her daughter worriedly, then at Yu Yaoyang who was leaning against the gate. She was really afraid that her daughter would be like her and Yingzi, marrying the wrong person and being beaten every day.
"Ah? Her man beat her? I remember her boyfriend was not even as tall as me, and he was skinny and small. How could he be so naughty despite his small body?" Ru Tang was shocked and immediately looked at Yu Yaoyang. He looked in her direction as if he had telepathy.
"Brother Yaoyang, her house is next to yours, right? When I get married, if that guy dares to attack me again, you can climb over the wall and beat him up."
"They're a couple fighting, what's the point of me climbing over the wall?" Yu Yaoyang sneered. Did she think his reputation in the village wasn't bad enough?
If he fought for someone else's wife, who knows what unpleasant things might get out.
"Ah, that's right." Rutang slapped his forehead, "Then I'll climb over the wall first, and then you can come to support me. This way, there will definitely be no gossip."
"Oh, I won't accompany you to do such a stupid thing." Yu Yaoyang refused firmly.
"I win people over with my virtue!" Rutang made an offer.
"We are all neighbors, how could we allow such a discordant thing to happen right under our noses?! Just go ahead, I will back you up!"
Yu Yaoyang was impressed by her great virtue and the corners of his mouth rose unconsciously.
His cheeks were still a little hot. The aftereffect of the hit on the big rock early in the morning was quite strong. Thinking about it now, his cheeks seemed to still retain that soft touch. For such a wonderful reward, he, Yu Yaoyang, had to be a good man who united his neighbors!
Hao Mei looked at her daughter worriedly. Wasn't her daughter usually very smart? How come she couldn't understand her thoughts now? She still had time to worry about other people's affairs. Wasn't she afraid that Yu Yaoyang would beat her?
Hao Mei's eyes fell on Yu Yaoyang's strong arms. With such muscles, just one punch from him would probably kill her daughter, right?
Chen Fu and Yingzi's husbands are short and cruel when they beat their wives. Yu Yaoyang is tall and strong. If he gets cruel, what will happen to her daughter?
"Only the most useless men would hit women. My brother Yaoyang is an officially certified good man. He would never do such a tasteless thing, right, Brother Yaoyang?"
Yu Yaoyang took out the certificate from her pocket and shook it in front of his future mother-in-law. He wanted to make a loud noise, but he couldn't control the strength.
“Sizzle!”
The certificate symbolizing honor was split into two, and he held one in each hand.
Time seemed to stand still.
One second later
"Yu Yaoyang! You bastard! Run away!" Ru Tang picked up a broom and chased after him. Yu Yaoyang ran around the yard as if he was on a Hot Wheels, holding the award certificate that he had cut into two pieces.
"I can just go back and get some glue to fix it. Hey, are you really going to hit me? Auntie! Your daughter is domestically abusing me, are you going to do anything about it?"
Yu Yaoyang circled around the dumbfounded Hao Mei. Hao Mei looked at her daughter who was swinging the broom so hard that it made the wind blow, and then looked at her son-in-law who was "weak, helpless, pitiful, but a little bit mean". This chaotic scene was quite different from what she had imagined for her daughter's "miserable life" after marriage.
Rutang couldn't catch up with him. His eyes rolled and he suddenly covered his stomach and cried out.
"What's wrong?" Seeing that she was holding her stomach, Yu Yaoyang didn't bother to play with her anymore and hurried over to her and asked with concern.
"You were told to run!" Rutang suddenly straightened up, rushed over, grabbed his arm and bit it!
“Ah~~~”
Yu Yaoyang cooperated with a scream, but it didn't hurt. But he had a premonition that if he didn't cooperate, she would definitely get angry and would swing her little fists at him. It didn't hurt, and he would have to worry about her getting tired.
"Please glue the certificate for me, okay? There must not be any gaps! I plan to leave this as a family heirloom to my children!" Ru Tang felt so distressed when he saw the broken certificate.
"Hehe." He was happy when he heard her say that she would pass it on to the child.
Seeing how heartless he was, Rutang was so angry that she punched him again, "Bad guy!"
This is not the first time that Hao Mei has seen her daughter "bullying" Yu Yaoyang, but every time she sees it, she is shocked.
Yu Yaoyang is the tallest and most powerful man in the village. Logically, he is the one most likely to beat his wife. However, not only does he not fight back, he also runs away in fear when bullied by his daughter. This is really beyond Hao Mei's understanding.
But what surprised Hao Mei even more was yet to come.
The three of them packed up and set off from home. Because they wanted to take Hao Mei with them into the city, their bicycles could not be used, so the three of them took the village horse carriage into the city, and each person had to pay 50 cents for the fare.
Hao Mei didn't want to go because she felt sorry for the money, so Rutang and Yu Yaoyang helped her into the car. When she heard that the fare had been paid in advance and could not be refunded, Hao Mei could only accept it with a sad heart.
The carriage bumped out of the village and Hao Mei looked back frequently.
"Rutang, tell me, your uncle and his men won't come to our house to cause trouble, right?"
"Of course he will. Of course he will not only pull out the vegetables in the garden in front of our house, he might even break the glass."
"Ah?! Then why do you let me go into the city?" Hao Mei almost fainted.
"It's okay. I asked Brother Yaoyang to chase our chickens and ducks to his yard. They can't steal our poultry."
"Is this a matter of poultry?! The house is going to be demolished, oh my..." Hao Mei was out of breath and anxious.
