Su Man wiped the rain off her face and stood up.
"Village Chief, is there any other way to go down the mountain?"
It’s not known when the rain will stop, and the young and strong laborers in the village are all at the foot of the mountain.
It is not known how long it will take to clear the road. Some of the injured, especially the little kid, certainly cannot wait that long.
Wang Daming thought about it and frowned.
"Yes, there is. Come with me."
He took Su Man and others to a cave in the back mountain. There was a simple cable car inside with a small cabin hanging on it.
"When we used to dig for ore in the mountains, we used this simple cable car to go up and down the mountain."
"However, at most five or six people can go down at a time."
"We need someone to step on the wheel and lower the rope, otherwise we can't get down."
As for the elderly, weak, sick and disabled people left in the village, at most we can send the first batch of people down.
The rest can only stay in the village for the time being.
Su Man nodded, indicating that she understood.
He first tested the car and the wheels on the side to see if they were working, and confirmed that there was no problem before waving to Sun's wife to get in.
"Take your child down the mountain first. There are doctors and cars at the foot of the mountain. Ask them to take you to the hospital first."
The Sun family's daughter-in-law's eyes were red. She nodded, bowed deeply to Su Man, and then went up.
Su Man also arranged for two or three villagers who were seriously injured to go up together.
After confirming that she could handle the other injured people, she called Zhao Latao and a classmate who was more seriously injured.
"You guys go up too and go to the hospital with them later."
Before the two of them could say anything, Chu Guihua rushed over carrying Ma Peipei on her back.
With a force, he pushed the two people apart and ran up.
"Everyone, move aside. Didn't you see that Ma Pepe has fainted?"
"I'll take her to the hospital, quickly."
Su Man looked at Ma Peipei on Chu Guihua's back. Her eyelids were still moving. How could she have fainted?
He pretended to be dizzy just to get down the mountain.
"Chu Guihua, I checked Ma Peipei's injury, and it's just a sprained ankle."
"These two students suffered brain injuries that were much more serious than hers."
"And you, you're not sick or injured, so don't join in the fun and get down here right away."
Chu Guihua didn't care about that. She was anxious to go down the mountain to accept the interview.
Now the mountain road has been washed away by mudslides, and only this cable car can go down the mountain.
"Su Man, don't think I don't know that you are deliberately seeking revenge."
"I think Zhao Latao is fine, so she doesn't need to go to the hospital."
"Just because you're close to Zhao Latao, you don't care about other people's lives?"
"Also, there are so many injured people here, it would be unsafe if we didn't have a doctor with us, right?"
Finally, she turned and looked at Wang Daming.
"Village Chief, I'll go down the mountain with you and help take care of it."
Zhao Latao covered her mouth and retched twice, saying unhappily.
"With your medical skills, it's hard to say who will take care of whom!"
"Even if we have to go down the mountain, Su Man has to follow us."
Wang Daming would naturally prefer to let Su Man go with him, but there are still many wounded people in the village. If Su Man leaves, the other medical students will be unable to help!
When Chu Guihua saw that Wang Daming did not express his opinion, she immediately stomped her feet in anxiety.
"What are you waiting for? This little kid will be cold soon."
The already narrow sedan was stomped all over the place by her. The Sun family's daughter-in-law held the child in her arms tightly and sobbed.
Su Man was afraid of delaying other patients, so she could only nod to Wang Daming.
"Village chief, let them go down the mountain first."
Wang Daming had no choice but to walk to the side and help others step on the wheels, lowering the car down the mountain little by little.
The rain was getting heavier and heavier, so heavy that people couldn't open their eyes.
It was getting dark, and Su Man and Wang Daming treated the injured villagers and sent them back home.
Before I could breathe a sigh of relief, I heard a classmate calling Su Man outside.
"Student Su, it's bad, Zhao Latao has fainted."
Su Man was shocked and hurried to Wang Daming's house.
Sure enough, Zhao Latao was lying on the bed with a pale face and a pool of vomit beside her.
Wang Daming's wife was extremely anxious: "Student Su and Student Zhao didn't know what happened. They suddenly vomited, then their eyes rolled back and they passed out."
Su Man walked forward and pried open Zhao Latao's eyelids to take a look. She thought to herself, "Oh no!" She might have a concussion.
She quickly asked Wang Daming's wife for a small pot, stuffed it with towels, and fastened it on Zhao Latao's head to prevent her from suffering secondary injuries.
After finishing everything, he looked at Wang Daming again.
"Village Chief, besides the cable car, is there any other way to go down the mountain?"
The elevator went down and never came up again. It was obvious that someone had blocked it at the foot of the mountain.
Wang Daming took a deep puff of his pipe and thought of a place.
"Yes, it is, but I don't know if it has been washed away now."
"It's a narrow path, very dangerous."
Zhao Latao must be sent to the hospital as soon as possible, and Su Man can't care about anything else.
"Please take me there."
Wang Daming took Su Man to the back of the village and shone a flashlight down.
A small path, no more than fifty centimeters wide, winds its way down.
Finally, it disappeared under the dark rain curtain.
"That's it. It looks like it hasn't been washed away yet. Classmate Su, do you want to leave from here?"
Su Man nodded: "My classmate's situation cannot be delayed, it needs to be dealt with as soon as possible."
Wang Daming took a puff of his pipe and nodded heavily.
"Okay, I'll go with you."
After all, these students did this because they were providing free medical treatment to the villagers.
If anything happens, he, as the village chief, will feel guilty.
