(Mom is back, but Dad seems to be still at get off work. Oh, Grandma, you know Dad is always busy.)
Sophia was afraid that Su Man would be angry, so she explained to her in a low voice.
"Su, my dad, is a doctor."
"He'll need surgery, maybe later."
"Please, don't mind."
Su Man smiled and shook her head to show her understanding.
"Won't."
Not long after, the doorbell rang again.
The maid hurried forward to open the door, and in came Sophia's father.
He looked to be in his forties or fifties and wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses.
He seemed very elegant. After entering the room and seeing Su Man, he first expressed his apologies.
"Hello, Sue, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."
"I'm Sophia's father. You can call me Mr. Wilson."
His Chinese is better than Sophia's.
Su Man was stunned when she heard this. Seeing Dr. Wilson extending his hand, she hurried forward to shake hands.
"Hello, Dr. Wilson, your Chinese is really great."
Sophia stepped forward with a smile: "Didn't I tell you? My father has been to China."
"He is very interested in Chinese medicine!"
"Oh, I seem to be able to foresee that you will have something to talk about at the dinner table later."
As she spoke, she held her forehead in feigned distress and sighed.
Wilson laughed and asked Su Man to sit down.
"Yeah! I heard from Sophia that your Chinese medicine is very good?"
"Perhaps, would you be willing to be my teacher?"
