Gu Defu waved his hand, signaling Gu Jinyang not to panic.
"It's not my blood. I just helped save a child."
"How did you know I came to the hospital? Aren't you busy with work?"
Gu Jinyang breathed a sigh of relief and smiled gently.
"The driver called me and I was in a meeting, so I rushed over immediately."
"As far as I'm concerned, no matter how big the matter is, it's not as important as Grandpa's."
Gu Jinyang works as a clerk in a government department. Although it is not an important position, he cannot leave his post without permission.
Gu Defu is a conservative person who believes that work comes first.
He immediately frowned and his tone turned cold.
"I'm fine, go back to your job."
"If everyone were to leave their post without permission just because something happened, wouldn't that be a complete mess?"
Even though Gu Jinyang was being scolded, he still had a smile on his face and helped Gu Defu into his car.
"Yes, Grandpa, but it's already dinner time, so I'm not leaving my post without permission."
"I'm really worried about you, so I'll send you home first."
Gu Defu's car was stained with blood and needed to be washed thoroughly later.
Thinking that it was indeed dinner time, he didn't say much and got in Gu Jinyang's car back to the compound.
After returning home, Gu Defu went back to his room to change clothes.
Gu Jinyang went into the kitchen and asked the nanny to make a few light dishes.
Then he walked into the living room and made a pot of tea.
Gu Defu went downstairs and sat down, and he handed over the tea at just the right temperature.
"Grandpa, during the last checkup, the doctor said your blood pressure is a little high."
"From now on, your diet must be light."
Gu Defu took a sip of tea and frowned.
"I've lived to this age, why should I care about those things?"
"Isn't it enough to just eat and drink well? You should worry less about Grandpa and more about your own affairs!"
"You're already 28 this year, and you haven't found a partner yet."
"Our family has been deserted for too long. It's time to have a granddaughter-in-law."
Gu Jinyang smiled gently and pushed his gold-rimmed glasses.
"There's no rush for this."
"You and my dad can help keep an eye on it. If there's a suitable one, I can go meet them later."
These words brought back Gu Defu's sadness and he sighed deeply.
"If your grandmother were still alive, she would have arranged this marriage for you long ago."
"These things are easier for women to handle."
Having said that, he thought of something and looked up at Gu Jinyang.
"Have you visited your mother in the hospital recently? Is she feeling better?"
"Ask the doctor when we can take her home?"
He only had this one daughter, and he was reluctant to let her get married, so he found a son-in-law for her.
Jinyang said he was a grandson, but in fact he was a grandson-in-law.
The family was originally harmonious, but unfortunately, not long after Jinyang was born, the daughter went crazy.
She had been living in a mental hospital. In his early years, he was busy with work and rarely visited her.
Later, he retired and went to watch it a few times. Every time after watching it, his daughter tried to commit suicide.
The doctor said that he had stimulated his daughter and did not recommend that he go to the doctor frequently.

His wife passed away early, and Jinyang and his father were busy with work and rarely came home.
Now he is the only old man at home and he feels very lonely.
He was looking forward to the day when his daughter would get better so that he could bring her back to live with him.
Gu Jinyang still smiled gently and poured some hot water for Gu Defu.
"Grandpa, Mom is living well in the hospital. You're old, and you need someone to take care of you, so how can you take care of others?"
Gu Defu frowned, his eyes flashed with sternness, and he put the teapot down on the table fiercely.
"But she's not someone else, she's my daughter, your biological mother..."
Before Gu Jinyang could say anything, Li Genshen walked in from outside with a hearty smile.
"Old man, who made you unhappy again?"
Gu Defu relaxed his brows and waved his hand.
"It's okay..."
Just then, the meal was ready and the nanny brought it to the table.
He stood up and patted Gu Jinyang on the shoulder.
"Eat first."
Li Genshen glanced at Gu Jinyang and raised his hand to hold him down.
"Old man, you eat first. Jinyang and I have something to say."
As he said that, he pulled Gu Jinyang up to the study on the second floor.
As soon as the door closed, he unbuttoned two buttons and slapped her.

Gu Jinyang's face was slapped so hard that it turned sideways, but he said nothing, as if he was used to it.
He spat out a mouthful of blood and slowly looked up at Li Genshen.
"Dad, what mistake did I make this time?"
Even in this situation, his expression and tone remained gentle, as if he would never have any other emotions.
Li Genshen gritted his teeth and lowered his voice.
"Didn't I tell you not to make your grandfather angry? What's your brain for? You can't even remember something so simple?"
Gu Jinyang stood there without saying a word, just straightening his glasses that were knocked askew.
Seeing him like this, Li Genshen became even angrier.
"Look at you, you look so awful, you don't look manly at all, I don't know how you look like me."
"I told you to please the old man, and he can help you get a promotion through the back door."
"You are Chief Gu's grandson. You can't be an insignificant clerk your whole life, right?"
Gu Jinyang looked at Li Genshen and smiled.
"Dad, you want to move up a little bit, right?"
"You have to go to Grandpa yourself about this matter. I can't do anything about it."
