Enraged, Song Wu Sao pushed Wang Naiyun away, picked up the child from the corner, and left the cellar.
"He's my eldest grandson!" Wang Naiyun chased after him. "Dabao, it's Grandma! Come here to Grandma!"
Wang Naiyun tried to snatch her eldest grandson, but he didn't recognize her and clung tightly to Song Wu Sao, pushing her away and refusing to let her hold him.
The night the child was sent to the village chief's house after arriving in the village, some villagers saw him and noticed that he had gained a lot of weight.
"The Song couple doted on this child; he's grown up healthy and chubby. I saw him the night he first came to the village; he was wearing a vest and shorts, and he was so thin that the vest couldn't even fill out properly, so it looked like he was naked!"
"Is this child really Old Han's grandson from the next village? Then how did he end up in our village?"
A village woman overheard their conversation and chimed in, "Wang Naiyun said that Song Yinhua brought her to the village to cultivate their relationship. She said that Song Yinhua and her son Zhiyuan are getting married soon."
Some villagers saw Song Erzhuang and his family of three watching the commotion and immediately went to verify it.
Song Yinhua looked surprised: "I brought her grandson here to cultivate a relationship? Can't I have children myself? And I have to marry Han Zhiyuan and take care of his stall owner and three kids? How come I, the person involved, knew nothing about such a big thing?"
Song Yinhua's voice wasn't loud, but it wasn't quiet either; the villagers watching the spectacle could hear it clearly.
Wang Naiyun and Song Wusao naturally heard it as well.
Song Yinhua asked Wang Naiyun, "Aunt Han, when you slandered me in town, calling me a concubine and a vixen, I told you that I wouldn't marry your son Han Zhiyuan and wouldn't clean up your family's mess. Why are you still so persistent in badmouthing me behind my back?"
Wang Naiyun was exposed and embarrassed, but she stubbornly said, "I only heard it from my son. He said you should bring Da Bao home to build a relationship and be a good stepmother, and then marry my son. Why did you give my grandson to his family? Give me back my grandson!"
Wang Naiyun started yelling at Song Yinhua, blaming Song Yinhua for not taking good care of her grandson.
"I've inquired. You're the one who sent my eldest grandson to your village chief's house. Give me back my grandson!"
"Your son really is incorrigible. He kept pestering me behind my back, begging me to marry him and clean up his mess. After I refused, he secretly left the child in my yard without saying a word. I thought it was a lost child from someone else, so of course I took it to the village chief's house to help the child find his parents."
When the villagers heard their conversation, they started talking all at once, cursing the Han family for being shameless. They said that because Erzhuang's family was poor and bullied in the village, they thought their family could also bully them and that they wanted the young lady to clean up their mess.
Seeing that her scheme had been exposed in public, Wang Naiyun decided to go all out and rushed up to grab Song Yinhua, demanding her grandson. Song Erzhuang slapped her away with his arm and roared in his rough voice, "What do you think you're doing?"
When villagers and his relatives bullied his family, Song Erzhuang would bring them vegetables, old hens, and other gifts, begging them not to bully his family, for fear of offending the villagers and being ostracized.
But when people from other villages bully his own people, he doesn't back down an inch.
Some members of the Song clan in the village also stood up to prevent outsiders from bullying their fellow clansmen.
Upon seeing this, Wang Naiyun collapsed to the ground, rolling around on the floor, demanding that Song Yinhua return her eldest grandson.
“Aunt Han, if you keep making trouble, I’ll report you to the authorities and have you arrested. Then you won’t be able to hide the fact that you have powerful connections.” Song Yinhua’s words frightened Wang Naiyun.
Wang Naiyun couldn't understand how Song Yinhua knew she had someone else on the side, and also knew she was having an affair with the man of her neighbor, Wang Erniang.
Seeing that she couldn't get anything good from Song Yinhua, Wang Naiyun went to Song Wusao's place to snatch her grandson.
The three-year-old child was being pulled and cried loudly.
Eventually, the matter escalated to the village chief's house.
The village chief gave Wang Naiyun a severe dressing-down, saying that a three-year-old child who didn't even know the way had run this way.
It must have been delivered by an adult.
Why did the adults send it over?
Anyone with eyes can see that.
This not only failed to gain an advantage, but also resulted in the loss of a great-grandson.
The village chief came up with an idea: let the children choose for themselves, whoever they wanted to stay with.
Wang Naiyun was furious when she saw her three-year-old grandson clinging tightly to Song Wu Sao, refusing to accept her hand and even refusing to call her "Grandma." She cursed the child for being an ungrateful wretch who wouldn't even acknowledge his own grandmother.
Han Zhiyuan didn't get off work until very late. As soon as he rode his bike into his yard, his mother, Wang Naiyun, rushed out, grabbed his clothes, and shouted, "Give me back my grandson!"
"Mom, what's wrong now?"
The mother and son have been arguing every time they meet lately.
Who does more or less housework, who takes care of the children, and who looks after the sick?
There's also work to be done in the fields.
In the past, when Han Youcai was in good health, he would go out to work in the fields. Sometimes he would pay villagers to help him. Wang Naiyun would sit at the mahjong table with her eldest grandson in her arms, and the whole family would live in peace.
After Chen Wanping gave birth to her second child, Han Youcai took care of the first child, and Wang Naiyun took care of the second child. They sat down at the mahjong table with the second child in their arms, and nothing much happened.
But once Han Youcai fell from grace, the whole family was thrown into chaos.
Chen Wanping absconded with all the money, leaving behind three children, which became the catalyst for the argument between the Han family mother and son.
Wang Naiyun not only asked her son for her eldest grandson, but also for the money that Chen Wanping had run off with.
When Han Zhiyuan learned that his son was being raised well and healthy in Songzhuang Village, he was not worried at all.
In her previous life, Song Yinhua treated the three children as her own. At first, the three children regarded her as their biological mother. However, when Chen Wanping sowed discord among the three children, and their biological mother from the previous life also spoke ill of Song Yinhua in front of the three children, the three children eventually recognized her as their biological mother and became estranged from Song Yinhua.
He is no longer worried that anyone will take his son away.
"Mom, we should be happy that someone is helping us raise our son. Once I get rich, Da Bao will naturally come back. Even if you don't let him come back, he will still come back to inherit my property."
"You keep talking about getting rich, but I see you're so poor you're practically penniless. When are you ever going to get rich?"
Han Zhiyuan was very unhappy after being scolded by his own mother.
"Mom, don't underestimate me, I'm sure I'll make a fortune!"

The dilapidated house at the foot of the mountain was razed to the ground. Song Yinhua and her parents got up early and started working on it until the sun was high in the sky.
The two bricklayers from the village had promised to come and help build the house today, and they would pay them as usual.
But when the sun was high in the sky, the families of the two bricklayers came to say hello, explaining that they didn't have time to take on any more work here, as they had gone to the county town to build houses for someone else and wouldn't be coming back.
It wasn't easy to find a bricklayer at the last minute. Just then, Xie Daguang brought a group of his cousins to help, saying that they had done something wrong before and came to apologize and ask for forgiveness.
They even offered to help build a house for free.
Several of his cousins are bricklayers.
"How could we let you work for free? We'll pay you whatever you're paid for a day's work building a house," Song Yinhua said in a businesslike tone. She guessed that the bricklayer who had agreed to come and work in the village suddenly not showing up was probably Xie Daguang's doing.
