Chapter 47 The Solution

Xie Daguang didn't expose him, "Master, you've already inquired about it, haven't you?"

"Hey! You're not just making this up. This is my first day in your village, and I don't know anyone here. If you don't believe me, go ask around and see if anyone knows me!"

The master continued to recount the family situation of Song Yinhua that he had heard about, and gestured to Xie Daguang to extend his hand.

The master looked at Xie Daguang's palm and face for a while, and asked him to tell him his birthday.

Xie Daguang deliberately made up a date that was the same year as Song Baogen's.

The master didn't know the family's birthdays. The person who hired him only knew the birthday of the third son; he didn't know the birthdays of the others, only the year they were born.

The date Xie Daguang reported was the same year the son of this family was born, and the master thought that this was Song Baogen's birthday.

"You have a full forehead and a square jaw; you're clearly destined for wealth!" The master showered Xie Daguang, with his pointed chin and liver-shaped face, with compliments. "The wife you marry in the future will definitely be excellent; she'll bring you good fortune, but..."

The master deliberately kept everyone in suspense.

"Just what?" Xie Daguang asked.

"There are villains in your family causing trouble, which will ruin your marriage, kill your wife, steal your great fortune, and leave you poor and childless in your old age! Young man, you must be careful!"

The master closed his eyes and began to calculate with his fingers again, muttering incantations, "Let me first find out who the villain who harmed you is and where he is!"

The master suddenly opened his eyes. "I've figured it out! That villain is your eldest sister. She's a cursed woman, destined to be a mistress. In the past, she was a prostitute! She will steal your and your family's good fortune, bring death to your wife, and have affairs with other men, causing your family to lose face and leading you to a lonely old age!"

The master then changed the subject, saying, "But young man, don't be afraid, I have a way to break this! I just need to set up an altar and perform a ritual..."

The courtyard gate suddenly opened, and Song Caixing came out, timidly asking, "What are you all whispering about outside my yard?"

"This is the fourth daughter of the family! The youngest in the family, Song Caixing!" As soon as the master saw Song Caixing's appearance, he guessed that this was the Song Xiaosi'er that the person who hired him had mentioned.

The master was smug and self-righteous, believing he had definitely fooled "Song Baogen".

He looked at Xie Daguang, "Baogen, wasn't my calculation correct?"

"Why are you mentioning my second brother?" Song Caixing asked timidly, her voice barely audible. "Xie Daguang, please don't harm my second brother."

The master was taken aback. "Xie Daguang? You're not Song Baogen?"

Xie Daguang punched the master in the eye, yelling, "Which of your eyes thinks I look like Song Baogen? My name is Xie Daguang! You charlatan, do your research before you try to fool me!"

The master, whose eye was swollen from being punched, ran away in fright, covering his head.

Song Caixing was so scared that she tried to hide in the courtyard, but Xie Daguang quickly pressed down on the courtyard door. "Sister Caixing, I'm here to protect you. Don't be afraid. That guy was a conman. I chased him away."

He handed the roses in his hand to Song Caixing, saying, "These are for you. I know you girls all like flowers, so I bought them especially for you."

"My older sister won't let me get close to you, so you should leave."

“Sister Caixing, I’m not a bad person.” Xie Daguang forcefully pushed open the courtyard gate. “Han Zhiyuan and Wang Erchui bullied you, so I beat them both up. They’ll never dare to bully you again. I even turned against my friend for you!”

Song Caixing lowered her head and remained silent.

Xie Daguang glanced around the yard. "Are you home alone?"

Song Caixing nodded timidly.

"Why are you home alone? Come on, let's go see a movie." Xie Daguang said, reaching for Song Caixing's hand, which startled her so much that she quickly dodged away.

"I still have work to do," Song Caixing said in a very soft voice.

"I'll help you with the work, and when we're done, I'll take you to see a movie. What kind of movie do you like?" Xie Daguang said as he entered the courtyard, taking the initiative to start a conversation with Song Caixing.

...

-

Inside the space, Song Yinhua ate fruit while looking at the large cement drying platform in front of her.

It took a long time to smooth out the cement surface of the large drying platform.

After eating the fruit, Song Yinhua took a bath with water from the spiritual spring and washed her hair as well.

A noisy commotion then came from the end of the space.

"Hold it down! Hold it down quickly!"

"Don't let her get away!"

"I'll go first, then you... Damn it, you dare scratch me?"

Snap!

A loud slap.

"Don't hit her face! If it gets swollen and her son finds out, we'll be in big trouble! Ever since her son broke my leg, I've been walking with a limp!"

"You still say that it was all your little rascal's fault that time? Otherwise, how would her son have known that we were the ones who bullied this silly woman! And that you held her down..."

"I'm holding it down, Old Wang, hurry up, don't let anyone find out!"

...

Upon hearing the sound, Song Yinhua realized something was wrong. She quickly dressed, grabbed the firecrackers and matches from her spatial storage, and also picked up a large iron shovel.

The surrounding night instantly turned into day.

In the bushes of the woods behind the mountain, two old men held down a struggling woman on the ground, intending to harass her.

The woman struggled frantically, only able to utter cries for help.

Song Yinhua lit a firecracker and threw it in the direction of the two old men.

The sudden crackling of firecrackers startled the two old men who had been up to no good, and they instinctively turned tail and ran.

One of the old men clutched his chest and stumbled away.

The madwoman turned her face to the ground in fear, covering her head and ears.

It's as if protecting the head and ears guarantees safety.

Song Yinhua helped the madwoman up and recognized her as the woman she had met before who had been bullied by a child and then fallen into a ditch and couldn't climb out.

The madwoman recognized Song Yinhua and excitedly grabbed her arm, trying to say something but unable to utter any words, only making incomprehensible syllables.

Song Yinhua, carrying an iron shovel, led the madwoman away from there.

She made inquiries along the way before finally managing to get the madwoman back to her home in Huojiabao Village.

"Go back quickly, and don't go to deserted places in the future." Song Yinhua also wanted to go home.

The crazy woman still wanted to go with Song Yinhua.

Song Yinhua escorted the madwoman a little further to the edge of the courtyard. "Go back now. It'll be dark soon. Go inside quickly."

The madwoman had no choice but to go into her own yard.

"Crazy mother, where have you been again? The dishes and chopsticks are piled up like a mountain, when are you going to wash them? Hurry up and get inside and do some work!" the old woman cursed viciously.

The old man at the doorway silently puffed on his pipe.

"You old codger, what are you still standing here for? Hurry up and go to that room!"

The old lady snapped at him, and the old man slowly got up and left. The couple went into the largest room, which faced south, and closed the door behind them.

The madwoman fetched water and squatted on the ground to wash the dishes.

A pair of hands moved up and down her buttocks. The madwoman noticed something, suddenly turned her head, and saw the old man in his fifties behind her. She was so frightened that she quickly stood up.

The bowl in my hand fell into the basin, hit a pile of bowls and chopsticks, and cracked.

"Ahhh..." The madwoman ran out in a panic.

"Don't run away, I won't hurt you..." The old man reached out to grab the madwoman, but a child ran in.

"Grandpa, what are you doing?"

“I’m washing the dishes for your great-grandmother. Go and bring her back quickly. She’s not mentally sound, and her family will worry if she gets lost.”

"Okay!" The child nodded and ran out.

The madwoman rushed out of the yard and chased after Song Yinhua in the direction she had left. She looked around and circled around again and again, but she could not find Song Yinhua's figure.

The madwoman lowered her eyes, looking dejected.
