Chapter 4 Mysterious Space

A few cries from a child brought Song Yinhua back to her senses, and everything around her instantly returned to normal.

She looked around her room in confusion, as if what had just happened was truly an illusion.

"Erbao, what's wrong? What's wrong? Who bullied you?"

An anxious woman's voice came from the main room.

Song Yinhua quickly put the jade pendant into her pocket and prepared to pick up the crying child sitting on the ground, but was bumped away by someone's elbow.

The woman picked up the crying child, trying to soothe him while giving Song Yinhua a displeased look.

"Erbao, tell Grandma, did someone bully you?"

"Don't be afraid, Grandma is here. If anyone bullies you, you must tell Grandma."

The woman kept questioning the crying child, but her eyes were full of hostility as she looked at Song Yinhua, clearly convinced that Song Yinhua had done something to her grandson.

This scene also happened in her past life. Song Yinhua lowered her head and kept apologizing because of the other party's malicious gaze.

Upon seeing the jade pendant in her hand, the other person snatched it away and accused her of stealing a child's protective jade pendant.

Song Yinhua defended herself, saying that she did not snatch it; the child bumped into her leg while running around, and the jade pendant fell to the ground, which she picked up casually.

But the other party didn't believe her and cursed her as a jinx, saying she had killed her grandparents and was now going to bring misfortune to her grandson, which made the thin-skinned Song Yinhua cry.

He then turned around and told Qiao Guilan to keep a close eye on her daughter.

His tone of voice and his malicious gaze made no attempt to hide his disgust and dislike for Song Yinhua.

"Yinhua, how could you be so dishonest?" Qiao Guilan scolded, "Hurry up and apologize to your sixth cousin."

In her past life, Song Yinhua felt incredibly sad when she heard her mother accuse her of stealing the jade pendant without even asking any questions, and she bowed her head in apology.

Her apology only fueled the gossip, and before dinner was over, the whole village was abuzz with rumors that she was a thief who stole jade pendants from young children.

"Yinhua, what are you standing there for? Quickly apologize to your sixth cousin!" Qiao Guilan urged her daughter again when she saw her standing there in a daze.

Song Yinhua retorted, "What are you apologizing for?"

"You made your sixth cousin's grandson cry, shouldn't you apologize?"

“He was running around without looking where he was going and bumped into my leg, causing him to fall to the ground. Who should apologize to whom?” Song Yinhua had no intention of giving in to others like this anymore. “Are they going to apologize to me?”

"What are you saying?" Aunt Liu cursed as if she'd just exploded with anger, "How dare you talk to your mother like that?"

How I talk to my mother is none of your business, you outsider.

"You ill-mannered brat! How did your mother raise you?" Sixth Aunt was furious. "Second Cousin-in-law, look how much your daughter has been spoiled by you and my second cousin! She's a jinx! I heard she went on a blind date today, so I came all this way to check on her, and this is how she talks to her elder?"

Qiao Guilan smiled apologetically at her sixth cousin, repeatedly apologizing to her.

He apologized while simultaneously criticizing Song Yinhua.

Their attitude was humble, like a servant speaking to his master.

Song Yinhua couldn't stand it anymore, "Mom, why are you apologizing to her? We didn't do anything wrong..."

"Shut up!" Qiao Guilan yelled at her, then apologized to her sixth cousin with the trembling demeanor of a servant before her master.

"Mom, don't always back down when something happens..."

Snap!

Qiao Guilan slapped Song Yinhua across the face. "Your sixth cousin is your elder. She rarely comes to visit because she cares about you. It's wrong of you to bully her grandson. If you don't apologize, Mom will apologize for you!"

Seeing her mother's obsequious manner as she apologized, Song Yinhua felt very distressed. Her fingers unconsciously clenched, and they happened to touch the jade pendant in her pocket.

In an instant, the surroundings transformed into an endless expanse of rice paddies and orchards, with clear streams meandering endlessly, and ancient-style courtyards exuding a mysterious atmosphere.

The bright sun overhead shines on everything.

Song Yinhua was surprised; how did she end up here again?

Before she could even react, she was pushed to the ground, and the surroundings instantly returned to her own room.

Suddenly, it was her sixth cousin's grandson who pushed her down, sticking his tongue out at her and making faces while shouting, "jinx, jinx, jinx..."

Qiao Guilan, who was apologizing to her sixth cousin, saw this and said ingratiatingly, "Look, Erbao also pushed Yinhua down. I apologized on Yinhua's behalf. Please be magnanimous and don't hold it against her..."

Before Qiao Guilan could finish speaking, Song Yinhua slapped her sixth cousin's grandson across the face.

"Who are you calling a jinx? Who's the jinx?"

"Waaah... Ahhh... Grandma said you're a jinx... Grandma said it, ahhhhh..." The little grandson screamed at the top of his lungs, so loudly that the roof almost got blown off.

"How dare you hit my grandson?" Sixth Aunt raised her hand to strike Song Yinhua, but Song Yinhua grabbed her wrist and pushed her away forcefully.

Sixth Aunt was stunned by the push; everyone knew that this jinx was a coward.

It took her a while to realize what was happening. "You hit an elder?"

Song Yinhua grabbed a chair with uneven legs from the room and pretended to smash it, saying, "If you don't get out of here, I'll really hit you!"

The sixth aunt, cursing and swearing, picked up her grandson and left.

Qiao Guilan chased after Song Caixing, apologizing and begging for forgiveness, before Song Caixing dared to enter the room.

"Big sister, you're amazing today. You used to never say a word when people called you a jinx. What's wrong with you today? You seem different from before."

"I had a nightmare, and it made me realize a lot of things."

"What nightmare did you have?" Cai Xing asked curiously.

"It was a terrible dream, let's not talk about it." Song Yinhua sent her fourth sister away, closed the door behind her, and took out the jade pendant from her pocket.

She carefully examined the jade pendant and found that a small piece had been chipped off the pattern.

Because of the pattern, the small chip or scratch is barely noticeable without careful inspection.

"really!"

This is the very jade pendant she lost.

When she was twelve years old, she went to the back mountain with her younger siblings and several children from her uncles' families to pick wild fruits to eat.

The mischievous children of my uncle's family pushed three-year-old Caixing down into the cave.

She climbed down the vines into the cave to rescue Cai Xing, but as she was about to climb up herself, her uncle's child deliberately cut the vines with a pencil sharpener, causing her to fall into the cave again.

Her younger siblings immediately went home to find an adult to rescue her, but she waited until late at night and no one came.

That very night, she was alone in the cave, crying and searching for a way out, when she accidentally discovered this jade pendant that emitted a faint glow in the darkness.

Using the jade pendant as an oil lamp, she continued walking forward, but accidentally tripped over a protruding rock on the ground, causing the jade pendant to fall and chip slightly.

She cowered in fear beside the jade pendant, and when she woke up again, she was already home.

As for that jade pendant, she never saw it again.

She asked the father who rescued her, and he said he had never seen any jade pendant. He also said that she was dreaming and that she was just a child who took her dreams as reality.

In her past life, when she saw this jade pendant, it seemed familiar, but before she could examine it, her sixth cousin snatched it away and accused her of stealing her grandson's amulet.

Song Yinhua looked at the jade pendant in her hand. On this day in her previous life, she encountered this jade pendant and entered an unfamiliar place. In this life, she encountered this jade pendant again and entered that place twice in a row.

Was it this jade pendant that sent her there?

Just as Song Yinhua was having second thoughts, the old rooms around her were instantly transformed into an unfamiliar space filled with rice paddies and orchards.
