Director Ning skipped over that and went on to point out the second problem: "Child, your talent is unique, but you are too utilitarian!"
Chang Shuying's heart was pounding. She did not deny that she was too ambitious. Although she loved painting, she also wanted to achieve results that would make her mother proud.
"Teacher, am I still a good child?"
The textbooks taught them to be unambitious and easygoing, but she seemed to be heading down the wrong path.
"You'll always be a good child!"
Director Ning was furious. If this child wasn't good, who was? She wondered who had been talking behind her back all this time.
"Aren't all young people like that!"

Chang Shuying lowered her head. She couldn't quite understand Director Ning's paintings. She painted because she hoped to get her mother's approval!
Seeing this, Director Ning sighed almost imperceptibly. Artists are all stubborn; you can't persuade them!
