Chapter 12 Safety in Production

Zhou Hongyu took a nap, and then people started coming to her office.

Around ten o'clock, Sister Sun walked into the office: "Hongyu, how long have you been here?"

Zhou Hongyu wiped her face, still half asleep: "It's alright, I just woke up after a nap."

Sister Sun chuckled: "I can tell you don't come to work often. Everyone in our office comes right on time."

Zhou Hongyu smiled but didn't say anything. She was different. Her nemesis had climbed up to the new leader. If she wanted to keep her job and get a pension in the future, she had to be smart and at least not cause trouble when the new leader took office.

Once this period is over, she certainly won't be so well-behaved.

After a while, Brother Huang and Xiao Yu entered the office one after the other.

"Sister Sun, Little Zhou!"

"Sister Sun, Sister Hongyu!"

Two people were missing: Zuo Tiantian and Qi Fenglian. Nobody seemed to care.

Their office work was easy, especially since a new leader had just been appointed and no work had been assigned yet, so time flew by.

With about ten minutes to go before lunch, Sister Sun pulled Zhou Hongyu aside to chat about what they planned to eat for lunch.

"We have a new chef at the cafeteria, and he's really good at cooking. Let's go check him out later!"

Just as Zhou Hongyu was about to reply, she heard Qi Fenglian's signature laughter.

At this time, Qi Fenglian stayed close to Chairman Lin at all times, and she coughed a few times to remind the people in the office.

The office returned to quiet.

Chairman Lin and Qi Fenglian entered the office together.

Qi Fenglian didn't go back to her workstation. Instead, she pulled up a chair and sat down next to Sister Sun. Sister Sun smiled politely at her, but received a sour look in return. She stopped pretending and wondered who had offended her recently.

Chairman Lin: "No rush to lunch, let's have a meeting!"

"As the new leader, I still have plenty of time to work things out with you all. I hope we can cooperate well in the future..."

The same old story kept repeating itself, and Zhou Hongyu yawned, feeling sleepy.

Chairman Lin noticed her movements and coughed a few times: "Our office has always done mostly trivial and unimportant things and has not been valued by the factory. Now that I am the new leader, I naturally want to achieve something different, so I'd like to say a few more words here!"

"Can you guys come up with some ideas to increase the visibility of our office?"

Working?

I'm not interested.

Ninety-nine percent of the people in this office are people with connections.

Zhou Hongyu stretched her shoulders and looked at Chairman Lin, who seemed eager to show off, spitting as he spoke. She immediately thought of the accident that happened to Chang Hongbing.

If the factory had paid more attention to safety in production before that, could this incident have been avoided?

Zhou Hongyu raised her hand: "Chairman Lin, I have an idea!"

Chairman Lin's eyes lit up, and he quickly gestured, "Go ahead!"

"As far as I know, the factory is doing well lately, and the workers are working day and night. I think that while pursuing output, we must also consider safe production!"

"laugh!"

Qi Fenglian sneered, "What do you know? Are you a frontline worker? Everyone in the workshop is working themselves to the bone to meet production targets, and you have the nerve to stand there and point fingers!"

Chairman Lin was not disturbed by Qi Fenglian. He told Qi Fenglian to shut up and gestured for Zhou Hongyu to continue speaking.

Zhou Hongyu: "It's certainly a good thing that workers are highly motivated, but too much of a good thing can be bad. If a worker's health is out of control or if an accident occurs for other reasons, the consequences could be unimaginable!"

Qi Fenglian shouted, "Look at what she's saying, it's like she'd love for an accident to happen at the factory!"

Chairman Lin said coldly, "Qi Fenglian, be quiet!"

Chairman Lin had encountered some unexpected problems in his previous job and was demoted and transferred to the factory, relegated to a low-level department. Before he started to fall into depravity, he was naturally not lacking in work ability.

Still dreaming of making a name for himself, he thought it over and found Zhou Hongyu's idea to be brilliant!

Safe production.

This part of the work receives little attention.

if!

If he could do this job well, he wouldn't be idle all day, bored out of his mind to spend time wandering around with a philandering widow.

Chairman Lin was in high spirits and paced around his office a few times with his hands behind his back.

"Okay, so it's about workplace safety? That's what we'll be working on for the next while. Everyone, please pay close attention. It's time for lunch, so go ahead and have some!"

After speaking, Chairman Lin left the office, and Qi Fenglian immediately followed.

Brother Huang looked at Zhou Hongyu with a smile: "Hongyu, I didn't expect you to be so talented!"

It was meant to be sarcastic.

If Zhou Hongyu hadn't spoken up, the entire office would have continued to be paid salaried employees. Her words unnecessarily added a lot of tasks for everyone.

Zhou Hongyu smiled and said, "Likewise, likewise!"

They're all people with connections, so they keep their opinions to themselves.

Sister Sun mediated, saying, "You've been doing nothing for so long, you're practically useless. It's good to use your brain more, right, Xiao Yu?"

Xiao Yu glanced at Brother Huang, then lowered her head and whispered, "Mmm..."

At lunchtime, Zhou Hongyu and Sister Sun went to queue up at the new chef's window.

After the meal, Sister Sun praised the new chef's skills.

How can I describe it?

It's a complete waste to cook for the masses in a factory!

Ms. Sun, who comes from a well-off family and often eats out, believes that this cooking skill can easily surpass 90% of the restaurants outside!

Zhou Hongyu expressed her understanding.

It is said that the new head chef did not stay long. She must have found Qi Fenglian and her scumbag husband disgusting every day, so she quit her job. The next day, the new head chef also left.

It is said that after leaving the factory, he opened a private restaurant near Shuangdong Hutong, catering to political and business elites and targeting the high-end market. I don't know why he would think of coming to the factory to cook for the masses.
