Chapter 138 Saving Money

Granny Chang pressed a cotton swab against the injection site: "Please wait a moment, you two. I bought some apples to share with you. The little girl has taken the apples to wash them and will be back in a bit!"

It's only going to snow for a few days, so apples aren't cheap at this time.

The head nurse smiled and nodded, "Then we'll wait a bit!"

Soon, Xianglan returned with a large apple in a basin.

Xianglan brought apples to them to choose from, and the head nurse took a big, red apple.

"Thanks to you, Grandma, we can enjoy such good apples. Grandma, your granddaughter looks nice. How old is she? Does she have a boyfriend?"

"This isn't my granddaughter, she's the nanny we hired to take care of me!"

nanny?

A strange feeling rose in the young nurse's heart.

She held the apple, her scrutinizing gaze sweeping over Xianglan. She had assumed that an ordinary old lady could afford a nanny!

The nurse felt it was unfair more and more!

The head nurse smiled and complimented, "Grandma, you're really enjoying the blessings of your children and even have a caregiver. You'd be doing this in the old days!"

She gave a thumbs up.

Granny Chang was very embarrassed and quickly waved her hand, saying, "Don't say that, we are all people of the new society!"

Chang Meiying asked curiously, "Grandma, does hiring a nanny cost a lot of money?"

The head nurse said enviously, "Of course, people like this auntie and this lady don't need to hire a nanny!"

Chang Meiying didn't quite understand the meaning of a nanny before. She thought that an unfamiliar older sister had come to her house to play with her. It turns out that hiring a nanny costs a lot of money!

She wanted to save money; she wanted to hire a nanny to take care of her grandmother.

As she left the ward, the head nurse looked at the listless nurse and couldn't help but scold her: "Don't think that being assigned to the hospital means you have a secure job. As long as the hospital doesn't sign a contract with you, you have no job security. Cheer up ten times over!"

The nurse looked down at the floor and didn't say anything; her mind was elsewhere.

She looked up immediately after separating from the head nurse and was lucky enough to spot that familiar figure in the attending physician's office.

The man was kicked out by the attending physician once again.

The nurse looked around and, seeing that no one was paying attention to her, walked over and greeted them with a relaxed expression.

"Hello, I'm the nurse in charge of ward 308. How can I help you?"

Grandma Chang was staying in ward 308.

Not long after, Liu Yujie received good news from the hospital: she had finally managed to open a gap in the tightly sealed iron curtain.

Liu Yujie excitedly instructed the person on the other end of the phone: "Keep the nurse calm down, I'm coming over right away. Tell her that as long as she's useful, she'll get her share of the benefits!"

Liu Yujie hurriedly left the house.

When Song Qingyun returned home from get off work, he listened to the conversation on the listening device in his small study on the first floor and fell into deep thought.

A call from the hospital—a breakthrough? What breakthrough?

Song Qingyun became increasingly curious about what Liu Yujie was up to behind his back.

Once the new store's customer traffic stabilized after its opening, Zhou Hongyu returned to work at the cultural center.

She had barely settled into her seat when a phone call from the preschool teacher summoned her to school.

Zhou Hongyu rushed over and asked as soon as she entered the office, "Does the teacher want to talk to me about my studies again?"

Aside from Chang Rihui's genetic mutation, the other three don't seem to have any talent in their studies; they're just so-so, and it's unclear who they resemble.

P.S. Granny Zhou: Just like you! If I hadn't broken the tree branch back then, you wouldn't have graduated high school!

Teacher Yun from the Yuhong class covered her mouth and laughed: "Meiying's mother, you're too modest. Yesterday, Chang Meiying went to the principal of the neighboring primary school to take a grade-skipping exam and successfully gained admission!"

The elementary school next to the Yuhong Class... wow, it seems to be a very impressive elementary school!

etc!

Mei Ying is only five years old; she's not old enough to start primary school yet!

Zhou Hongyu was excited for a moment, but then quickly calmed down.

Teacher Yun placed the still-warm admission notice on the table: "Meiying's mother, as your child's teacher, I'd like to say a few words here. Would you like to listen?"

Zhou Hongyu nodded.

Teacher Yun said with a serious expression: "Your child is very bold, and certainly has the ability to do so. However, based on my observations of Mei Ying over the past few years, I don't mind if the child is forced to grow too fast. I wonder what you parents think?"

She was startled to receive a notification from the principal of the neighboring elementary school. She immediately inquired about the situation, and Chang Meiying said that it was her own decision.

Ms. Yun has always had a love-hate relationship with the quirky and clever Chang Meiying in her class.

The little girl was exceptionally clever and loved by everyone. Every day, children would fight over giving her things, yet she was also different from others. There was no trace of gentleness in her; she was particularly wild and had been the leader of the children in the school since she started school.

However, it is gratifying that Chang Meiying has a very good upbringing. Despite having so many excellent conditions, she is also a good child that teachers like very much.

Kind and generous.

Zhou Hongyu didn't need to think twice; of course she disagreed!

The kids in the US and UK are so impulsive; skipping grades does more harm than good!

Thinking of the heartbreaking thing that happened to Mei-ying in her dream, her heart ached. She only hoped that Mei-ying would be safe and sound in the future. As for other empty titles, she didn't care.

Zhou Hongyu said firmly, "Teacher Yun, let's pretend this never happened. Meiying can continue attending the Yuhong Class as usual!"

Teacher Yun glanced at the little head outside the door; Chang Meiying didn't seem like an obedient child!

“Mom, although I disagree, I hope you can seriously consider your child’s situation, after all, your child has this talent!”

"Chang Meiying, come out here!"

Zhou Hongyu turned around and saw Chang Meiying walking out from behind the door, her dimples showing.
