Chapter 215 Returning to Beijing from Shanghai

The train station has arrived at the destination for the Shanghai-Beijing train.

Chang Rihui helped Chang Shuying unload her luggage, and he and Chang Shuying waited by the roadside for Dawang and Xiaowang to drive the car over.

Chang Shuying was wearing thick clothes, and her forehead was slightly sweaty from the considerable amount of exercise.

Chang Rihui handed over a handkerchief with a light fragrance.

Chang Shuying was taken aback, and looked up, asking, "Third Brother, the handkerchief that Sister Keqiao gave you?"

Chang Rihui noticed something was wrong and suddenly blushed. He quickly snatched the item back from Chang Shuying's hand and stuffed it into his pocket.

Just as he was about to explain, a car horn sounded from the side, and Da Wang and Xiao Wang arrived in their car.

Xiao Wang got out of the car and helped carry all the luggage into the vehicle.

People were coming and going in front of the train station, and cars were blocking the road. It wasn't the time to talk yet, so Chang Rihui and Chang Shuying got into the car first.

It wasn't appropriate for Chang Rihui and his sister to talk about Keqiao in front of Dawang and Xiaowang.

Chang Rihui awkwardly tried to make conversation: "Shuying, why did you come back alone this time? I know you went to Shanghai for a competition, but Mom felt comfortable letting you go alone!"

Chang Rihui was returning to Beijing from Hong Kong when he passed through Shanghai, where he made a brief stop for a few days to take care of some business.

He was startled to see Shuying waiting for her train alone at the Shanghai Railway Station, carrying large bags.

Chang Shuying was understanding: "Mom changed to a new job, and the cultural center needs her. Besides, I didn't go alone; I went with the team, but those people were eliminated early and they went on a trip around Shanghai. I was in a hurry to come back by myself after the competition!"

Chang Rihui sighed: "Don't do that again, it's too scary. What if something happened..."

This house is probably no longer safe!

Chang Shuying obediently replied, "Third Brother, I won't do that again!"

On the way back, Chang Rihui very seriously explained to her the dangers of a girl traveling alone on a long-distance train. She even witnessed some strange and unusual things on the train, which broadened her horizons.

When she went to Shanghai, there were teachers from the team in charge, and Chang Shuying just followed their instructions. She was so focused on the competition that she didn't notice the dangers on the train, which is why she dared to decide to take the train home alone.

Seeing that Chang Shuying was serious about admitting her mistake, Chang Rihui nodded slightly. He thought it was enough that she had learned her lesson; he was the kind of person who would stop short of making a point.

Then, Chang Shuying happily pulled out the remittance slip from her bag and proudly said, "Third Brother, this is the prize money I won in the competition!"

Hearing his younger sister's unusual tone, Chang Rihui smiled and reached out to take the money: "Let me see... two thousand yuan!"

Chang Rihui's eyes widened. Da Wang and Xiao Wang, sitting in the front row, saw the shocked expression on his face in the rearview mirror and couldn't help but laugh.

Two thousand is nothing. My brother makes more than two thousand in profit from a single business deal. What's going on?

Chang Rihui excitedly returned the remittance slip: "Shuying, I'm so proud to have such a sister! Take this back and make Mom happy!"

Chang Shuying smiled and agreed. When the car arrived at a familiar intersection, she called out to Da Wang.

"Turn at this intersection, drive another fifty meters and stop! I'm getting off there!"

Chang Rihui had been away from Beijing for many days and was not very clear about the situation at home. He turned to look at his younger brother.

Xiao Wang turned around and explained, "Aunt Zhou runs a clothing store on the street!"

Chang Rihui was shocked again. He knew this street better than anyone else; it was where he made his fortune.

Since breaking up with Yang Yingzi and her father, and having his business divided up, he has paid little attention to this place anymore.

His mother actually opened a clothing store here!

Chang Rihui frowned. His first thought was, where did his mother get so much money?

He knew very well that his family didn't have much savings. Although his father earned a high salary because of the nature of his job, his mother spent money extravagantly and always spent it all. His father supported a family of six on his own, so there really wasn't much money left.

The car stopped; we'd arrived.

Chang Shuying smiled, opened the car door, grabbed her luggage, and quickly ran towards the clothing store.

The competition is over, and her most important task is finished.

Zhou Yao's cousin is getting married, and the shop is short-staffed. She can take some time to help out at the shop in the future.

"Shuying, you're back!"

Chen Zhaodi was the first to see Chang Shuying returning with large and small bags, and she shouted loudly.

Zhou Hongyu was startled by her loud voice, but she was too preoccupied to curse.

Shuying is back—

"Shuying!"

"mom!"

Chang Shuying did not cry when she was being bullied on the field.

Chang Shuying did not cry when she received her award at the end of the competition.

However, looking at her mother, who was so excited about her sudden return, Chang Shuying suddenly felt like crying.

She was able to start learning to draw at such an awkward age because of her mother's support.

During her trip to Shanghai for the finals, she learned a lot of new things. It's not easy for her to start learning to draw at this age, and she is very grateful for her mother's support and companionship along the way.

Zhou Hongyu talked a lot with Chang Shuying, who had suddenly returned from Shanghai, and she was very excited.

I've been running into Mrs. Ke a lot these past few days, and she seems listless.

When Shuying returned, she seemed to have been reborn.

"Mom, Third Brother..."

"Boss, you'd better find somewhere to hide! That lady from the Foreign Affairs College is here again!" Chen Lijuan spotted Madam Ke and warned her.

Chen Lijuan didn't need to say much; she was the first person to discover that Zhou Hongyu was afraid of Madam Ke.

"Shuying, let's talk about it at home. Mom has something important to do!" Zhou Hongyu let go of her daughter's hand and immediately went to the lounge.

Mrs. Ke entered the shop with several ladies she was on good terms with, chatting as they walked.

“Keqiao, I asked her to come out with me from home, but she refused. She said she had something to do and wouldn’t be able to get here for a while. If only this girl could focus on her studies…”

A friend joked, "Keqiao has always been excellent, so don't show off here. I heard that Keqiao recently won first prize in a speech contest held by the United Nations on behalf of the school!"

Mrs. Ke couldn't stop smiling as she listened to her friend's compliments.

Madam Ke raised her hand: "You won't find another store like this in the entire capital! You all need to take a look! The clothes here are unlike anything you can find anywhere else!"

"They're really great, the more I look at the clothes in their store, the more I like them..."

The ladies dispersed one by one, happily selecting their favorite clothes.

Chen Lijuan waved her hand, and the store's employees all ran to potential big customers to promote their products.

Chen Lijuan checked her appearance and walked confidently toward Mrs. Ke.

In the blink of an eye, Chang Shuying was left all alone on the side. She sighed slightly and decided to go home and put her things away first.

Turning around, I saw Keqiao walking in, her face beaming with joy.
