Chapter 488 Extra: The Funeral

In 2007, two relatives passed away in just one year.

In the first half of the year, after the 55th anniversary of Mr. Zhou's passing, Granny Zhou fell into a deep sleep and never woke up again, leaving them forever.

In the second half of the year, three months after Zhou Pozi's death, Zhou Hongyu suddenly felt discomfort in her chest and died suddenly from an acute illness. Even Chef Qiao, who was known as the reincarnation of Hua Tuo, could not prevent this from happening.

Zhou Hongyu's funeral was neither quiet nor lively; everything was kept simple in accordance with her wishes.

Before this, Chang Xingwang had already set off to travel around the world with Zhou Hongyu's ashes, and he would be able to return to China when the Olympic Games open next year.

After the funeral ended and most of the guests had left, Chen Zhaodi and her granddaughter Changning squatted on the ground to burn paper money, reminiscing about the past and sending Zhou Hongyu off on her final journey.

Suddenly, a commotion came from outside.

Chang Ning stood up abruptly: "Grandma, it's Second Uncle arguing with Grandpa Qiao!"

Chen Zhaodi wiped away her tears, her sorrow turning into excitement. What? You can watch the excitement at a funeral?

Chen Zhaodi grabbed her granddaughter's hand and rushed outside.

They arrived late; Chang Pengfei and Chef Qiao had already stopped arguing and started fighting.

It was Chef Qiao who couldn't stand Chang Pengfei any longer and, too lazy to waste words, directly attacked him.

Chang Pengfei had just lost his mother today and was heartbroken. He confronted Chef Qiao but was beaten instead. He lost control of his emotions and started arguing with Chef Qiao.

"Stop it, all of you!" Chang Rihui had just seen off several of Zhou Hongyu's good friends when he heard about this incident before he even got back to the door. He rushed over without thinking of anything else.

He called on Chang Yaozu, and each of them grabbed one of them.

Chang Rihui was also devastated today. Seeing his good-for-nothing brother causing trouble in front of their mother's funeral hall, he didn't care about the consequences and called him.

"Chang Pengfei, are you crazy? Do you even know what day it is today!"

"What day is it today? I don't know what day it is! I don't have a mother anymore! Why don't I have a mother anymore!"

Chang Pengfei's eyes were bloodshot as he let out a desperate cry at Chef Qiao: "Aren't you the fortune teller Qiao? You're supposed to be able to predict the future and be proficient in all sorts of skills, so why didn't you foresee this? If we had known beforehand, my mother wouldn't have..."

Chang Pengfei blamed Chef Qiao for Zhou Hongyu's death.

He remembered clearly that before Zhou Hongyu's accident, Chef Qiao, whom he had been seeing all along, suddenly returned home, and soon after, his mother suddenly fell ill and passed away.

Is there nothing they don't know about this?

Chef Qiao looked at his eldest grandson, who had become his enemy, and smiled coldly.

Long before the misfortune struck, he had a vague premonition that this day would come.

However, Hongyu was his biological daughter, and she was his karma in this world. He could never foresee the time when his daughter would leave his side.

Chef Qiao pushed aside Chang Yaozu, who was blocking his way: "Come on! You don't want to fight me? I'd like to see if you, this coward, can beat this old man!"

Chef Qiao had many complaints about his eldest grandson. When Hongyu was alive, she was most worried about Chang Pengfei. He was reckless and impulsive, and always caused trouble for others, often making Hongyu worry about him.

Chef Qiao himself said that if Hongyu hadn't given birth to such a son, she might not have suddenly fallen ill and died.

Chang Pengfei couldn't resist the urge and tried to rush over, but Chang Rihui held him down firmly.

"Alright! Second brother, when will you ever mature? This is in front of Mom's mourning hall!"

If you want to fight or make a scene, that's fine.

After the seventh day after death, you can beat them however you want, and make a scene however you want.

Chang Pengfei was beaten half to death, but Chang Rihui didn't even glance at him. He deserved it all.

Chang Rihui intervened and stopped the conflict.

Even so, Chang Pengfei and Chef Qiao still couldn't stand each other and wanted to beat each other up.

With his daughter gone, Chef Qiao will be traveling the world starting tomorrow; he won't live to see the end of the seven-day mourning period.

Before leaving, Chef Qiao met with Chang Pengfei and said, "Come on, didn't you want me to do your fortune telling? I'll do it for you! You'll get a divorce in less than three years!"

Chang Pengfei took this as Chef Qiao's revenge on him and scoffed, "I'll get a divorce within three years? Old man, I think you'd better not tell fortunes anymore, or you might get beaten to death on the street!"

"Let me tell you the truth, I will never get a divorce in my life!"

He and Tang Xianfang never had love in the first place; they were just living together for the sake of their daughter.

Tang Xianfang threw herself into her work; relationships were something external to her, and she couldn't possibly have any other thoughts about them.

As for herself, she would not divorce Tang Xianfang for the sake of her daughter's physical and mental health.

That old man never says a single accurate word!

Seeing that Chang Pengfei didn't take it seriously, Chef Qiao smiled, turned around and left.

Now that his daughter has left, his connection with these people is over. What does the future have to do with him?
