Chapter 577 Too Cold-Blooded

Through the old wooden window, Ye Yun propped her head up with one hand, silently watching the scene of the father and daughter reuniting outside.

Noticing a gaze upon her, she raised her eyes slightly and saw the young woman following behind Director Liu staring at her in astonishment.

Who is this?

Ye Yun's eyes flickered with a change as she stared intently at the other person, a faint sense of doubt rising in her heart.

Why did this young woman, whom I didn't know at all, have this expression when she saw her?

Compared to Ye Yun's confusion, Liu Xiaoyun's astonished expression was clearly mixed with a hint of panic. She quickly took two steps forward, walked up to Liu Chengzhi, and said in a slightly urging tone, "Dad, now that we've found the person, let's go back quickly."

Liu Chengzhi was still immersed in the excitement of finding his youngest daughter. He wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes and turned to look at her: "Why are you in such a hurry? Our benefactors helped us find your sister. We should thank them properly. How can you just turn around and leave?"

A hint of impatience flashed across Liu Xiaoyun's eyes.

But since the other party was her father, she couldn't resist too much and silently followed behind Liu Chengzhi with her fists clenched.

The bright sunlight shone on her, who was wearing a bright red down jacket. She squinted, not daring to look at the scorching sunlight, nor at the window that stood in the sunlight with her.

After a moment, Liu Chengzhi finally overcame the excitement of finding his daughter.

He shook hands tightly with Qin Zheng, thanking him again and again, and pulled Gu Jin next to him along, patting their shoulders loudly with gratitude.

Qin Zheng and Gu Jin exchanged a glance.

Gu Jin silently moved the hand that Lao Liu had been using to pat his shoulder to Qin Zheng's shoulder. Lao Liu was completely unaware and hugged Qin Zheng, patting his back loudly with both hands.

Qin Zheng: "..."

Gu Jin: This is what you deserve.

Aunt Tian prepared the meal, and Qin Xiang'e also returned home. After figuring out the whole story, she warmly invited Liu Chengzhi and the others to sit down.

Since they didn't have enough tables and chairs at home, they even asked Aunt Tian to bring over all her belongings.

When it was time to eat, Ye Yun had just calmed Xiao Chuqi down, tidied her clothes, and came out to eat with the guests.

When she appeared at the dining table, Liu Xiaoyun, who was sitting next to Liu Chengzhi, immediately tensed up and stared at her without moving, her eyes filled with vigilance.

Ye Yun raised an eyebrow, puzzled.

Liu Xiaoyun's gaze only met hers for a second before she quickly looked away. But when she looked at the food on the table, her eyes and brows were clearly filled with distress.

Yueyue, oblivious to the world's ways, sat obediently next to Liu Chengzhi, eating and drinking. She was the star of the meal.

She wasn't very good at using chopsticks, but when she ate something delicious, she would still stumble and put it into Liu Chengzhi's bowl, sharing what she thought was the best food with him.

The chicken pieces fell into Liu Chengzhi's bowl with a thud. She chuckled, pointed at the chicken pieces with her chopsticks, and said to Liu Chengzhi, "Dad, eat, it's delicious..."

Liu Chengzhi was moved to tears, "Good, good, Yueyue is so filial..."

As he ate chicken and responded to his youngest daughter's words, he was enveloped in gratitude, his weathered face brimming with an overwhelming sense of excitement.

The deep bond between father and daughter was evident in every detail seen by Liu Xiaoyun, who was standing beside him.

Liu Xiaoyun and Yueyue were separated by Liu Chengzhi. She slightly turned her head and glanced at Yueyue over Liu Chengzhi, a sinister look flashing in her eyes that was hard for others to notice.

A fool, always using these little tricks to deceive their father.

"Sister, sister, you eat too..." Suddenly a piece of chicken fell into the bowl. Liu Xiaoyun looked up in surprise and bumped into a little face full of silly smiles.

Separated by Liu Chengzhi, Yueyue tilted her head and looked at her with a smile.

The girl was three years younger than her, a beautiful seventeen-year-old with fair skin, big, blinking eyes that looked at people with fluttering eyelashes like broken-winged butterflies.

However, none of this could change the disgust in Liu Xiaoyun's eyes.

All she saw was another drool spilling from Yueyue's mouth, which, mixed with the vegetable juice, turned into an indescribable color. When she laughed, she grinned widely, as if afraid others wouldn't know she was a fool.

Also, why was she serving food to her older sister in front of so many people?

Does it make her seem very well-behaved?

Her feigned innocence and insistence on acting like a close sister to her father were most hateful.

"Xiaoyun, your sister is putting food on your plate, why are you making that face?" Liu Chengzhi noticed Liu Xiaoyun's strange expression and reminded her.

He knew that his eldest daughter had always had a lot of complaints about his youngest daughter.

The birth of the younger daughter stole the love that the older daughter should have had all to herself. Later, when he and the child's mother discovered that the younger daughter was mentally challenged, they subconsciously paid more attention to her, causing the older daughter to dislike the younger one even more.

The eldest daughter even harbored hatred towards her own sister, whom she shared the same mother's blood.

But they were born of the same mother and were bound by blood; Yueyue was, after all, her younger sister whom she had grown up with.

Liu Chengzhi felt utterly disheartened.

He could dismiss Liu Xiaoyun's usual playful fights and his disdain and contempt for Yueyue as just childish thoughts.

Faced with the prospect of life and death, they almost never saw Yueyue again. Now that they have finally found her, Liu Xiaoyun, as her older sister, is showing such a cold attitude. It is too heartless!

She looked as if she wished Yueyue would never find her again.

"Dad, I remember you have an important meeting to attend this afternoon. I've finished eating and I'll wait for you in the car." Ignoring the admonition and helplessness in Liu Chengzhi's eyes, Liu Xiaoyun put down her chopsticks and got up to leave the table.

Her high heels clicked crisply on the stone floor as she walked quickly to the door.
