Ning Jingqiu's cruel laughter came through the phone.

The black and white photo fell to the ground. Qin Zheng bent down and picked it up with trembling hands.
In the photo, Ye Yun is tied to the railing of the boat. She is thin and her clothes are disheveled. The sea breeze blows her hair, making her look so frail.
A flash of anger crossed Qin Zheng's eyes as he gripped the photo tightly, as if he wanted to crush it.
“My daughter…” Mu Jingsheng rushed forward, pried the crumpled photo out of Qin Zheng’s hand, and clutched it to his heart in grief.
His daughter, whom he had finally found after a long and difficult journey.
He was already absent from her growth, and he didn't even have time to let her enjoy the good life. How did he end up in this state?
