Chapter 30 Wife, Hold Me Tight

"His wife?"

A hand waved in front of her, and Ye Yun suddenly came to her senses.

"His wife, you're going back to your parents' home today. I had Zhengzi buy some things for you. Take a look!" Qin Xiang'e said, quickly giving Qin Zheng a wink.

Qin Zheng opened the trunk in response.

Good heavens!

Ye Yun was completely shocked!

Malted milk powder, almond brittle, canned yellow peaches, two bottles of expensive-looking liquor, and a cloth bag whose contents are unknown—the motorcycle's trunk was crammed full with extravagantly luxurious items!

Did they go to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy goods?

Qin Zheng took out the items one by one.

As she took the items, she counted them: "I bought two bottles of wine for your uncle, a pair of sneakers for your brother, and some food for the women in the family since I didn't know what to buy. I don't know much about food either; my aunt taught me. Is there anything else you need?"

Ye Yun quickly replied, "We don't need any!"

With canned goods, malted milk powder, and even special drinks for elders, this generous gift is something few other families could match.

Ordinary families consider one thing sufficient to fulfill their etiquette.

Presumably, Qin Xiang'e prepared such generous gifts for Qin Zheng because she felt he had a bad reputation.

But that's too much.

She didn't want to take too much stuff, otherwise it would just be feeding two heartless dogs.

Ye Yun glanced at Grandma Qin Zheng sitting in the sun at the entrance of the main room, put the other things back in the trunk, and left a can of the most expensive malted milk powder, handing it to Qin Xiang'e: "Aunt, leave this for Grandma to drink, she is getting old and needs to supplement her nutrition."

Qin Xiang'e looked at Qin Zheng with a troubled expression.

Malted milk powder is the most expensive item here; it's used to make a good impression. Can it be taken out of the box?

Qin Zheng nodded.

"I'll listen to my wife."

"..."

OK.

Qin Xiang'e listened to the new bride and turned around to stuff the malted milk powder into the old lady's arms.

The old lady, clutching a bottle of malted milk powder, sat motionless in the sun at the entrance of the main room, glancing at Qin Zheng washing his motorcycle and then at Ye Yun washing up. In the morning sun, she contentedly raised her weathered face, full of stories.

This May weather... is fucking wonderful!

After dinner, Ye Yun changed into the new dress that Qin Zheng had bought for her.

The green floral dress accentuated her fair skin, and the hem of the dress reached her ankles. The white collar turned outwards gave her a scholarly air, leaving Qin Zheng speechless for a moment.

As Qin Xiang'e watched him go, Qin Zheng rode his motorcycle with her down the slope.

Suddenly, the brakes came on sharply!

Startled, Ye Yun grabbed the man's waist and asked, still shaken, "What's wrong?"

Qin Zheng looked down at the two fair and tender slender arms that were tightly wrapped around his waist, and chuckled. His wife was indeed fair and tender!

"The road is bumpy, honey, hold me tight."

"oh……"

Ye Yun had just agreed when she suddenly felt that something was not quite right.

Suddenly the motorcycle accelerated, startling her so much that she grabbed Qin Zheng's waist, her face contorted in disarray.

That jerk did it on purpose!

On the way to Yejiagou, Ye Yun still asked Qin Zheng to detour to the pork market in town and cut off half a jin of pork, which he then hoisted onto the front of the cart with a rope.

My uncle's family lived in Yejiagou, a poor place where they could hardly make a living all year round.

Although her uncle couldn't stop her from getting married, he had never mistreated her since she was a child. He was a simple and honest man, and there was nothing he could do about marrying such a strong and mean woman.

The roar of a motorcycle is quite rare.

As soon as they entered Yejiagou, the roar attracted countless curious glances, and the villagers who saw the two of them stared in astonishment.

"Isn't that Old Ye's daughter?"

"Didn't you marry Qin Zheng?"

"Isn't that Qin Zheng?"

"Quickly! Go and tell the Ye family! They're in the middle of a fight right now!"

"..."

Ye Yun heard what the villagers had said, and her heart tightened. She urged Qin Zheng to drive faster.

Meanwhile, at the Ye family's house.

It was less of a fight and more of a one-sided beating...
