Qin Zheng frowned as he looked at the concentrated liquid in his hand, his eyes filled with concern as he looked at Ye Yun. "Wife, is this safe to drink?"
"Give it to me." Ye Yun held out her hand to him.
Qin Zheng was a little reluctant to give it to her. The smell of this Chinese medicine was unbearable, and she was so delicate; wouldn't she throw up after drinking it?
Seeing that he didn't move, Ye Yun beckoned with her outstretched hand, "Give it to me, I'll drink it."
"Wait a minute."
Qin Zheng suddenly shoved the bowl into Gu Jin's hand and strode out.
Gu Jin looked completely bewildered. "Where is he going?"
Ye Yun stared blankly at the slammed hospital room door and shook her head. "I don't know."
A short while later, Qin Zheng hurriedly returned, carrying a kraft paper package the size of a fist, the contents of which were unknown.
The kraft paper was crumpled from his grip, but when he opened it, it contained a dozen or so loose, handmade candies.
"The supply and marketing cooperative next to the health center only has this. Take one after you finish your Chinese medicine to tide you over. Once you can walk again, we'll go to the department store together. They have a lot of different kinds of candy there, and they're sweet. We'll pick the ones you like to buy." Qin Zheng said, opening a candy, unwrapping it, and handing it to Ye Yun.
He smiled gently, his forehead covered with a fine layer of sweat from running up and down.
It looked a bit messy, but absolutely gorgeous.
Ye Yun was stunned.
"Damn! How come I didn't think of that!" Gu Jin exclaimed, breaking the warm atmosphere. She shook her head and sighed, "Mistake! I've learned my lesson. I'll know what to do next time!"
"..." Ye Yun reached out and took the medicine from his hand, tilted her head back and drank it all in one gulp.
Seeing this, Qin Zheng hurriedly stuffed the candy in his hand into her mouth. The bitter taste gradually subsided amidst the sweet milky flavor spreading on her tongue, and Ye Yun smiled sincerely at the man.
Gu Jin began to marvel again.
"The sky has cleared, the rain has stopped, and even that big, clumsy guy who only knows how to fight and kill can now feel caring."
"..."
Qin Zheng thought that sometimes he really couldn't suppress the urge to bury people.
