Employee dormitory.
It was dinnertime, and Dongdong was sitting on a small stool with a wooden table in front of him, eating with Liu Wan.
Upon seeing Chen Zhenxing return, Dongdong's little face immediately lit up with a bright light, and he timidly called out, "Daddy..."
"Yes," Chen Zhenxing replied.
Seeing Dongdong, he had mixed feelings and didn't know how to face the son that Wang Dongxiang had given birth to for him.
He knew his son was innocent.
But when he thought about Wang Dongxiang's character, he felt a little uncomfortable. However, this had nothing to do with Dongdong; Dongdong was still his son.
"Have you eaten?" Ye Yun asked.
Chen Zhenxing shook his head.
He argued with Wang Dongxiang for a whole day, and didn't even eat lunch. He was able to come back because he forcefully handed Wang Dongxiang over to her parents after sending her back to her parents' home.
Chen Zhenxing seemed to realize something was wrong then, "Huh? Boss Ye, why haven't you left yet?"
At this time of day, Ye Yun would have already been picked up by Qin Zheng and taken home. Except for the busy periods at the factory, Ye Yun had almost never stayed at the factory this late.
Ye Yun chuckled lightly, "Isn't this for you to watch the kids?"

The next second, Ye Yun lifted Dongdong's little clothes, revealing the bruises and welts on Dongdong's body.
Chen Zhenxing's amiable expression froze.
Looking at the bruises on Dongdong's body, his face froze, and his gaze gradually turned to disbelief.
"What's going on?!"
He was furious and slammed his hand on the table, staring at the bruises on Dongdong's body with shock and confusion.
As soon as he slammed his hand on the table, Dongdong trembled in fright. He instinctively threw down his chopsticks and obediently ran to the corner to stand still. He looked up at Chen Zhenxing with trembling eyes, his little body motionless, as if waiting for Chen Zhenxing's slap to fall on him.
He was clearly used to it. Zhan Qing's eyes seemed to say: Dad, hurry up and hit him. You can vent your anger after you're done.
Chen Zhenxing was furious.
The child's bruises infuriated him, who put his hands on his hips and kept scratching his head. But when he turned his head and saw the child hiding in the corner waiting to be beaten, his expression froze instantly.
"Dongdong, what are you doing?" he asked in surprise, his voice trembling.
Dongdong pressed himself tightly against the wall behind him, his shoulders hunched, his long eyelashes drooping slightly. He whispered in a muffled voice, "Daddy... is angry... hit me, then you'll feel better, and we can eat together..."
Chen Zhenxing's heart skipped a beat.
At this moment, even breathing feels painful.
He looked at the child's well-behaved and sensible appearance, took a deep breath, wanted to say something, but after holding back for two or three seconds, he finally didn't say a word.
Finally, he could only nod again.
"Come here, Daddy won't hit you, eat your food." He stepped forward and took the child's hand.
The moment Chen Zhenxing's large hand grasped Dongdong's small hand, Dongdong's little body trembled slightly, but he quickly realized that Chen Zhenxing really didn't intend to hit him, and a glimmer of light finally ignited in his tender eyes.
The little one asked in a clear voice, "Daddy, are you really not going to hit me?"
Chen Zhenxing paused, then led him to sit down at the table. "Why do you think Dad will hit you?"
“Because I was disobedient…” Dongdong said, his eyes drooping sadly again. He sat blankly at the table, his two little hands nervously clenched together. “Mom said that she was so unlucky because of me. The new uncle doesn’t like me and often argues with me, so she is often unhappy. When she is unhappy, she hits me, but… she is fine after she hits me, and she is happy after she hits me!”
As the conversation progressed, a hint of excitement even appeared on the little guy's face.
This silly child.
Chen Zhenxing felt increasingly distressed as he listened, and turned away to secretly wipe away the tears in his eyes.
However, he overlooked Dongdong's ability to read people's expressions. Having been beaten so many times, Dongdong could keenly sense the adults' emotions and immediately noticed his unusual behavior. "Dad, what's wrong?"
Chen Zhenxing quickly shook his head, his voice slightly hoarse: "It's nothing, Dad just got some sand in his eye."
Dongdong said "Oh".
Sensing that the adult was in low spirits, he dared not speak anymore.
Chen Zhenxing looked at Ye Yun, wiped his eyes, and calmed himself down, saying, "Ms. Ye, thank you so much for today."
“It’s not a big deal for me,” Ye Yun shrugged. “I’m clumsy and can’t take care of children. Liu Wan has been taking care of Dongdong all day.”
Chen Zhenxing immediately looked at Liu Wan and nodded gratefully, "Secretary Liu, thank you."
Liu Wan opened her mouth, wanting to say something to comfort him because of his red eyes, but considering their identities, she suppressed her thoughts and nodded, saying, "It's nothing, just a small favor."
Chen Zhenxing nodded again.
"Dad, I'm full. Where's Mom?" A small voice rang out, filled with trepidation.
