Shaoheng sat facing Shaomeng on the bluestone threshold. "Aunt, is it ready to eat? I'm hungry."
"I'm hungry too," Shao Meng said in a childish voice, mimicking her brother.
The two little ones immediately made Jiang Xue laugh. "You two little gluttons, it's too hot, or your mouths will get blisters."
Just as Jiang Xue finished speaking, the village secretary shouted from outside the door, "Is anyone home? The Ji family needs to send someone to the brigade headquarters."
