"Dinner is ready, let's eat."
Jiang Xue was lost in thought when Ji Chen's words interrupted her train of thought. She decided to stop thinking about it for now and use the wages she received from Ji Chen to buy some fabric first.
Shao Heng buried his head in eating the fragrant and flavorful braised pork. Jiang Xue looked at Shao Heng's greedy expression and felt more and more affectionate towards him.
"Eat slowly, there's more." Jiang Xue kept putting food on Shao Heng's plate.
Ji Chen took out two hundred yuan and put it on the table. "The remaining fifty is for the two children's food."
Jiang Xue responded with a surprised "yes" and accepted it.
Early in the morning, Jiang Xue didn't care about anything else and followed Ji Chen's car to the city. Otherwise, she wouldn't know how long she would have to struggle to raise the two children alone.
Upon arriving in the city, Jiang Xue, with her two children, headed straight to the shop. However, considering that she also needed to wholesale fabrics, it would be inconvenient to move goods with two children in tow.
But having already received the salary from Ji Chen, Jiang Xue couldn't afford to lose the two children, so she simply took them to the police station and asked the police for help.
Even in such a developed era, there were still human traffickers; in this day and age, they are even more serious. Fortunately, the police were reasonable people. After Jiang Xue pleaded and explained the whole story, they were happy to help Jiang Xue watch over the child for a while.
Jiang Xue rushed to the wholesale market and carefully selected various fabrics.
"Young lady, looking at fabrics? Come to my house and take a look," an aunt with curly hair greeted Jiang Xue.
With her sharp eyes, Jiang Xue spotted the small pickup truck at the entrance of the woman's shop and entered without hesitation.
"Our fabrics are all top-quality, and they're also sturdy and durable," the auntie said casually while cracking sunflower seeds.
Jiang Xue repeatedly weighed the quality of the fabric with her hands.
"What's the price range for these?" Jiang Xue pointed to some polyester and polyester fabrics.
"One yuan and fifty cents per meter."
"What about these?" Jiang Xue pointed to the cotton cloth on the side.
Two pieces.
The curly-haired proprietress spat out the sunflower seed shell in her mouth and quickly explained to Jiang Xue, "Our fabrics are of high quality; no other tailor can compare. Many tailor shops in the city get their fabrics from us."
Jiang Xue didn't show any sign of wanting it, even though she knew the fabric was really good.
"I'm looking for a long-term supplier. I currently only have two shops, and I'm planning to open a third one." Jiang Xue lied without batting an eye; she gave herself the identity she needed when she was out and about.
The curly-haired shop owner's eyes lit up when she heard this. "This young lady is quite capable. She's opened two shops at such a young age."
Jiang Xue chuckled, "No, my parents opened it for me. They also have five shops in the city next to the city. I've only been here for a short time, so I'm just doing this as a training exercise."
Since nobody knows anyone, making things up won't cost us anything.
"The next city? My husband runs a wholesale business there. He knows all the established brands there. What are your parents' shops called? They might even be friends."
Jiang Xue was stunned. It seemed that Jiang was indeed wise and experienced, and clearly did not believe what she said.
"Boss, I didn't expect to run into you here!" Sun Ze'an jumped off his bicycle with a look of surprise and greeted Jiang Xue.
Jiang Xue realized she had gone too far, so she quickly walked out of the shop and greeted Sun Ze'an, whom she wasn't very familiar with.
"You're here to look at fabrics too?" Jiang Xue forced a smile as she changed the subject.
"I'm here to help you look at it. Yesterday when I went to your shop, you didn't have any fabric. I thought since you're unfamiliar with the area, we should all help each other out if we can."
When the curly-haired shopkeeper saw that it was Sun Ze'an, the only son of the cotton mill owner, she hurriedly ran outside and greeted him with bows and scrapes, "Teacher Sun, why don't you come to my house and see if there's anything that catches your eye?"
