"That's all in the past now, and things turned out fine afterward, so you have to keep going, little sister."
Jiang Xue was greatly encouraged as she listened to Mr. Xu and his family's past.
"Okay, no matter how tough it gets, I'll grit my teeth and keep going." Jiang Xue said, thanked the two of them, and then returned to the ward to take care of Shao Meng.
As soon as the door opened, Ji Chen was sitting by Shao Meng's bedside.
"Why are you here?" Jiang Xue asked in surprise. "Where's Shao Heng?"
"Shaoheng, I'll ask Ji to watch over things for a while. I've brought some clothes and blankets, so you two won't catch a cold tonight."
"Oh, okay then. Shaomeng, have her checked out tomorrow. There shouldn't be any major problems."
"The initial temperature was too high, and the doctor was a little worried that it might cause other illnesses."
In Jiang Xue's eyes, Ji Chen only came to deliver clothes because of Shao Meng.
"It's alright, I know Shaomeng will be fine." Ji Chen was even more certain that even if Jiang Xue was freezing herself, she wouldn't let Shaomeng get cold.
"I brought you the blanket." Ji Chen said, preparing to get up and go back.
Jiang Xue glanced at the sky outside. "It's so late now. If I ride my bike home, what time will I get there?"
"It's okay, I'll ride faster."
Jiang Xue looked at Ji Chen's back with some worry, thinking that running back and forth like this was not a good idea.
"Come up tomorrow and bring some of Shaoheng and Shaomeng's clothes, or a couple of your own clothes. I've rented a place, so don't keep running back and forth like this. I'll let you stay here for a few days until Shaomeng is discharged from the hospital. It's cold now, so don't keep bringing the two kids back and forth."
"Also, please bring me some extra blank paper; I need to draw."
“Okay.” Ji Chen’s gloomy eyes instantly brightened. Being able to move into Jiang Xue’s newly rented house would be wonderful.
Jiang Xue didn't want any of the children to catch a cold and get a high fever. It would be a small matter if she had to spend time taking care of the children, but it would be heartbreaking to see the children suffer when they had a cold.
The next morning, Jiang Xue arrived at the canteen early and got a bowl of porridge and two steaming hot buns.
"Hey girl, what a coincidence!" Li Wen, wearing a black coat, happened to run into Jiang Xue.
"Are you here to buy breakfast too?" Jiang Xue shielded the steaming buns with her hands so they wouldn't get cold when Shao Meng ate them.
“We’ve already completed the discharge procedures for my mother, and she’s getting ready to leave. At 3 PM, bring the design drafts, and I’ll come pick you up here.” After saying that, Li Wen seemed to remember something else.
"You have someone to take care of your child, right? If you can't get away, I can come in a couple of days."
Jiang Xue quickly replied, "There are people here, someone is helping me take care of the child, including the child's uncle."
"Okay, then it's set for 3 PM. Didn't you say you had some design drawings? Don't forget about them."
After seeing Li Wen off, Jiang Xue hurriedly returned to the ward to see if Ji Chen had come back.
Ji Chen took a towel and wiped Shao Meng's face and hands.
When Shao Heng saw Jiang Xue return, he suddenly threw himself into her arms.
"I missed you last night." Shao Heng buried his face tightly in Jiang Xue's arms.
Jiang Xue smiled and patted Shao Hen's back, "Did you eat breakfast? Are you cold? Let me feel your little hands."
"I've already eaten, but I'm not full, so my uncle won't let me eat anymore."
Faced with Shao Heng's complaint, Jiang Xue burst into laughter, "Tell me why your uncle won't let you eat anymore?"
