It wasn't that Jiang Xue was stingy, but deep down she felt these people weren't worth it.
"Okay, I'll listen to my wife. This is the last time."
Ji Chen took out fifty yuan and handed it to Ji Yun, saying, "If you've really been wronged, just come back. Mom was just angry at the time, and it'll be over soon."
"And don't even think about making a move on Shaoheng. Jiang Xue and I treat Shaoheng like our own son, and we would never let him suffer even the slightest grievance."
After Ji Chen finished speaking, he left, leaving Ji Yun alone.
On the other side, Shao Heng held Jiang Xue's hand and said, "Auntie, I shouldn't have gone with her in the park just now."
“She’s your mother, I’m not angry. If your mother calls you, do you think she has something to say to you? It’s only right that you go to her.” Jiang Xue affectionately patted Shao Heng’s head.
“I thought she was going to say something to me, so I went to the side with her.”
Jiang Xue squatted down in front of Shao Heng, hugged him, and kissed him. "It's okay, Auntie isn't angry at all."
Ji Chen saw from afar that Jiang Xue was embracing Shao Heng, and felt a surge of relief. He never imagined that Jiang Xue would truly treat Shao Heng and Shao Meng as her own children.
He strode over to Jiang Xue and took Shao Meng from her arms. "You're not full, are you?"
Jiang Xue pretended not to hear at all. She suddenly remembered Ji Meng's words: this man is not a good man. He is hiding his true feelings so well. He actually has someone else in his heart.
"Are you not full?" Ji thought Jiang Xue hadn't heard him.
Jiang Xue rolled her eyes at him unhappily, "I'm full of anger, I don't need to eat anything."
After Jiang Xue finished speaking, she hurried to the bus stop.
"Didn't you say you were going shopping? Why are you going back now?" Ji Chen was completely bewildered. "What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing happened to me."
Jiang Xue's stubbornness and deliberate aloofness immediately made Ji Chen nervous.
He followed behind, not daring to ask any more questions, "Shall I take you to buy some clothes?"
"I need it." Jiang Xue was already seething with jealousy. She had finally managed to accept this blockhead, and now she knew that he actually had someone else in his heart.
Jiang Xue felt incredibly depressed. She walked forward with her head down, her disappointment almost overflowing. It was over before it even started?
When Ji Chen got home, he noticed that Jiang Xue had been cold to him the whole way. He was a little puzzled as to what he had said that had upset Jiang Xue.
And when Ji Yun criticized her, he completely protected her. What's wrong with this ungrateful little brat?
Sitting in her chair, lost in thought, Jiang Xue's mind wandered, wondering if there were things about Ji Chen that she didn't know.
And what is she? Is she just this guy's second choice?
Seeing Jiang Xue's sullen expression, Ji Chen racked his brains to recall what had happened and finally remembered that it was Ji Yun's unfinished words that had made Jiang Xue jealous.
He carried a stool over and sat down next to Jiang Xue, resting his chin on his hand and staring at her with undisguised joy in his eyes.
"Don't look at me, go away." Jiang Xue pushed Ji Chen away unhappily.
Ji Chen smiled and said, "Jealous?"
"I didn't."
Seeing Jiang Xue's resistant expression, Ji Chen was certain that he had guessed correctly.
He gently held Jiang Xue in his arms and pulled her into his embrace.
But Jiang Xue wasn't a docile little lamb. She resisted and struggled to break free from Ji Chen's grasp, saying, "Don't hug me, I won't let you hug me."
"If you won't let me hold her, then I'll hold her myself."
