Jiang Xue stood there, staring blankly at Ji Chen's retreating figure, and she always had a strange urge to laugh.
Her mind was still quite clear. She wasn't the type to be blinded by love. If a man treated her even slightly well, she would completely forget her ideals and ambitions.
Another busy morning has passed. She's taken on seven or eight jobs, but there are still curtains to be made. She seems to be so busy that even an octopus can't keep up.
"Do you take curtain orders here?" A young, beautiful woman, exuding competence, barged in.
Jiang Xue quickly stopped what she was doing. "Yes." She immediately stood up and invited the woman to sit down.
"Don't mention it, I'm Sun Ze'an's childhood friend, I work across the street." Zhao Qian pointed to the Jingyuan Hotel across the street.
Jiang Xue peeked out and saw that this was the grand restaurant that had just opened yesterday with firecrackers. Judging from the girl's clothes and manner of speaking, she must be one of the managers there.
"You must be the manager inside?" Jiang Xue asked with a smile, handing Zhao Qian a teacup.
"You're really amazing, how did you figure that out?" Zhao Qian's face was full of pride. In this day and age, it wasn't easy to find a job, especially for city girls like them who only graduated from junior high school.
Unlike other college graduates who have jobs handed to them, she was very proud of herself for getting this job.
"You have a capable demeanor; you look like a manager." Jiang Xue's flattery was effortless; there's an essential skill in sales: praising customers.
Praise isn't about showing off your acting skills; it's about sincerely and attentively finding the customer's weaknesses and then praising them.
Zhao Qian was overjoyed. Since Sun Ze'an kept recommending Jiang Xue to her, she decided not to hide it and pretend to ask for a price to do him a favor.
"We're a newly opened big hotel, right? We decided to install curtains everywhere. We timed our opening precisely on the first day, but the construction schedule was a bit tight, so the curtains were completely left unfinished."
Jiang Xue confidently replied, "I can definitely do it."
Jiang Xue knew that there were few people and the place was small, but when she caught a big fish, there was no reason to give up.
"Just you alone? No way, our vice president said it has to be completed within half a month." Zhao Qian was just trying to appease Sun Ze'an; she hadn't considered entrusting such a big job to such a small workshop at all.
She quickly stood up, "We need to sign a contract here. If we're delayed for even a day, our business will be delayed for a day..."
Seeing her hesitation, Jiang Xue understood what was going on. "I can sign a contract with you. You just need to pay a deposit and decide on the fabric."
"You're all alone here... How about I look at a few more places? Give me a quote so I can compare them. People compare prices before buying anything." Zhao Qian's social skills were quite good.
Jiang Xue could tell that she was now politely declining, and guessed that she had come all this way just to give face to an acquaintance.
Jiang Xue took out a piece of paper, quoted a price, and handed it to Zhao Qian.
Zhao Qian didn't even glance at the price list, just grabbed it and said, "Okay, I'll take another look. I'll contact you if I get any updates."
Jiang Xue's gaze followed her across the road, and sure enough, as soon as she crossed, Jiang Xue's quote was thrown into the trash can.
Jiang Xue quickly pulled the two children to Aunt Liu, who sold cigarettes and alcohol next door, and said, "Aunt Liu, could you watch the children for me for an hour? I'll be right back when I'm done."
Aunt Liu was never in a hurry, leisurely cracking sunflower seeds. "Okay, okay, you can put it here."
"Okay, thank you, Aunt Liu. I'll make you a few handkerchiefs next time."
