Chapter 58 A Business Between Two People

Wen Zhichao really wanted Xia Ruzheng to stay at home and be a full-time wife. After all, he felt that he could definitely support his wife.

"So what do you want to do?"

Xia Ruzheng said, "Don't you want to go and take a look? I want to go and take a look too!"

This is not difficult, the couple discussed it.

The next day, they both got up early. It was hard to change the habits they had developed at home.

There was a noise outside. It was Wang Fuqiang getting ready to go to the factory.

All I could hear was Chen Mei yelling, "Eat something before you leave! The factory doesn't have food until noon, and the food isn't good."

Wang Fuqiang's hurried steps brought with them a hasty response: "No time! Your salary will be deducted if you're late!"

He was originally an ordinary worker, so it was an easy job for him to replace someone else to do the job. Moreover, money would be deducted if he was late once. His family was not well off to begin with, so he was even more reluctant to do it.

Hearing the noise outside, a vague idea flashed through Xia Ruzheng's mind, but he couldn't grasp it.

"What do you want to eat later?"

I haven’t cooked at home yet, nothing is cleaned up yet, and I haven’t bought rice or anything like that, so it’s impossible to have breakfast at home.

“Take a look first!”

Xia Ruzheng had never tried Cantonese breakfast and didn't know what was available out there.

At this time, Chinese people were still accustomed to having breakfast at home.

After packing up, the two of them went out, but they didn't see Chen Mei peeking out from behind. Chen Mei couldn't understand why such a beautiful young wife married such a weird-looking man.

It was bustling outside early in the morning, with people riding bicycles to work, sending their children to school, buying groceries, and walking to work, all greeting each other in Cantonese.

Wherever Wen Zhichao goes, he is a very conspicuous presence, and Xia Ruzheng has to be baptized by the gazes of the people around him. It has been almost a month since they got married, and Xia Ruzheng is almost used to it.

While walking on the road, Xia Ruzheng said, "My father and my sister can both write. Can your parents write? If not, I will ask Qianqian to come to their house and help them read and write letters."

I forgot to mention this when I went out.

Wen Zhichao said, "Then tell your sister this! Send the letter to your sister and ask her to deliver it."

There was another small stall with a few tables on the roadside, selling a local Guangzhou specialty, rice noodle rolls. Most families make this dish, usually keeping it for their family, and then selling it to sell. But not many people eat it. Anyone born and raised in this area knows that everyone has some rice noodle rolls. It's better to make it at home.

The couple had never eaten it before, but they thought it was something new.

The rice noodle rolls were filled with seafood and had a very light flavor. Xia Ruzheng, who grew up eating spicy food, really couldn't get used to it. Wen Zhichao clearly meant this.

After eating, I wiped my mouth with Xia Ruzheng's handkerchief. There was no toilet paper at that time.

"Zhengzheng, if possible, you should cook at home in the future. I'm not used to this."

Cantonese cuisine is mainly light. I have been eating out these past two days. It’s okay for one or two meals, but if I eat too much, I can’t stand it.

"Okay! Let's buy rice, oil, and salt today. Luckily, we already bought a pot yesterday. Oh, and we also need a stove. I saw our landlord uses a coal stove at home, so we can use that."

After eating, I took a walk around the neighborhood.

Whenever he saw a shop, Wen Zhichao would go in and talk to the owner. Most of the owners spoke Cantonese, and some were a bit difficult to talk to. Wen Zhichao remained unfazed. Xia Ruzheng admired his skill.

After a day of watching outside, the two of us bought some rice and vegetables and went home to cook. It was just that chili peppers were a little hard to find, as people here don't really like spicy food.

Xia Ruzheng thought that he would have to bring some local specialties back home next time. If he didn't eat some hometown food, he would feel itchy in his heart and taste bland in his mouth.

At this time, Xia Ruzheng also understood the meaning of the migrant workers' large and small bags, which must include a lot of various vegetables brought from home.

Because it was his first time cooking and he needed to warm up the stove, Xia Ruzheng cooked several dishes at once.

"I'll take this meat to Sister Mei and the others. You set the table first."

In the past, whenever we cooked something delicious at home, we would send some to our neighbors, and they would do the same. This was very helpful in enhancing our relationships.

At this time, the Chen family was also eating. The two older ones were eating by themselves, and the younger one was lying in the rocking cradle next to them.

Xia Ruzheng smiled and said, "This stir-fried pork is a dish from my hometown. I cooked a little extra at home today, so I'll give you some to try."

Chen Mei stood up and said, "How can this be so embarrassing?!"

Xia Ruzheng placed them on the dining table and said, "It's nothing. I just hope Sister Mei will remember me when she has something delicious in the future!"

Chen Mei thanked him with a smile, and Wang Fuqiang also laughed but didn't say anything. The two children were happy to see the meat and hurried to grab some.

Xia Ruzheng said, "You're welcome. This dish is a bit spicy, so be careful not to overwhelm the child. My family is also preparing to eat, so I'll go home first. Just return this bowl to me after you finish it."

Chen Mei sent Xia Ruzheng to the door.

Not to mention how Chen Mei's family was so pissed by the spicy meat, but after tasting it, they couldn't help but want to eat. Xia Ruzheng's family had already set the table, waiting for people to come and eat.

The wine glass was also filled, and Wen Zhichao said: "This is our first time firing, let's have a drink to celebrate!"

Xia Ruzheng readily agreed.

This meal was naturally very satisfying.

Xia Ruzheng felt that this was the beginning of the couple's life.

Two days later, Wen Zhichao had almost completed his market research and was ready to start doing business.
