Chapter 31: Being chased by the police!
When Su Mengxue ran back, the loose cuffs of her bat-wing shirt lifted up as she walked, and her indigo flared pants wrapped around her slender calves, with the trouser legs spread out like petals, making her figure look tall, neat and capable.

Su Mengxue suddenly looked up and saw the man named Lu Yuanzhou standing beside her, helping her to sell the clothes. With help and a ready-made model like her, the clothes naturally sold quickly.
But in the blink of an eye, she sold five pairs of bell-bottom pants, three bat-wing shirts, and the only one brazilian shirt. Just as she was excitedly collecting the money, she saw a beam of bright light suddenly flash in the dim night.
Soon a cry of alarm came from the crowd: "The police are here, run!"
The crowd who were just choosing clothes scattered instantly after hearing this. One woman ran away with the clothes before she could even pay.

Lu Yuanzhou squatted down, stuffed the bag into her hand, picked her up without saying a word, and ran quickly into the alley with her on his back.
Su Mengxue could hear his rapid breathing and gradually slowing pace, as well as the sound of a whistle getting closer and closer behind him. She didn't know when one of her high heels fell off.
She patted his shoulder and urged him urgently, "Lu Yuanzhou, you can't run fast with me. Put me down and take the things and go first. They can't do anything to me if they see me."
"I won't abandon you."
After Su Mengxue finished speaking, he carried her even tighter on his back. She looked at the light behind her, which was getting closer and closer, and sighed inwardly, "How could this man be as stubborn as Gu Yunting? If they were caught up soon, wouldn't the clothes she had worked so hard on all afternoon be completely wasted?"
The whistle and footsteps behind her were getting closer and closer. Su Mengxue whispered, "Lu Yuanzhou, do you know that these clothes are mine..."
"I know the way around here. I promise you, both you and your clothes will be fine!"
Without waiting for Su Mengxue to speak, Lu Yuanzhou quickened his pace and ran deeper into the alley. He soon came to a three-way intersection. After running a few steps to the east, Lu Yuanzhou suddenly stopped and pushed her against the wall.
"I'll lead them away," he instructed in a low voice, "Hide well and don't make any noise. Wait until there's no movement outside before coming out."
Lu Yuanzhou was about to carry her over the low wall, but Su Mengxue grabbed his hand and asked with wide eyes, "Lu Yuanzhou, what about you?"
Lu Yuanzhou smiled at her: "Don't worry, I'm fine."
He gently carried Su Mengxue over the low wall, then turned and ran in the opposite direction. He hadn't run far when he kicked over a metal trash can on the side of the road. A loud bang instantly exploded in the silent alley.
Su Mengxue huddled in the corner, not daring to breathe. She naturally heard the noise Lu Yuanzhou made; he was deliberately diverting the police's attention so that she wouldn't be discovered.
She suddenly felt very touched. After all, they were not familiar with each other. Although she saved him in the morning, it was just a small effort. She remembered that he said he was a doctor. If he was arrested by the police, it would affect his future.
She was usually most afraid of owing others, and didn't want to drag others down because of herself, especially those who really helped her. But she changed her mind and saw her bare feet. She didn't know when the other high heel slipped away, so if she went out, she might end up making things worse.
She had no choice but to bury her face in her knees, listening to the sounds of pursuit gradually fading away, her nails digging deep into her palms.
After a while, Su Mengxue heard no more noise. She was so worried about Lu Yuanzhou just now that she just came to her senses. She looked at the pitch-black night and the abandoned matchmaking shed and felt a chill on her back.
She quickly picked up her bag and stood up. Fortunately, the wall was not high, so she held the bag in her arms and climbed out carefully on the wall barefoot.
After crawling out, she walked barefoot on the ground. It was pitch black all around and she couldn't see anything. She had to lean against the wall and walk forward on tiptoe in fear. Because her ankle was sprained, she took every step very slowly.
She had not taken a few steps when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in the sole of her foot. She bent down and touched the sole of her foot and found it was a stone. She shook off the stone and endured the pain and continued walking forward.
When she reached the fork in the road, she suddenly didn't know which way to go. Just as she was worried, she heard that familiar voice again: "I'm back."
Su Mengxue looked at Lu Yuanzhou who appeared in front of her breathlessly, and an indescribable emotion surged in her heart. Suddenly, her eyes were filled with moisture.
