Chapter 81: Let’s live together and die together!
Wang Jun was stabbed in the leg. He half-knelt on the ground, grimacing in pain, cold sweat rolling down his forehead.
Gu Yunting's face was pale and he was trembling as he covered his abdomen which was bleeding. The white shirt he was wearing soon turned blood red.
Su Mengxue saw a large pool of bright red blood under Gu Yunting, and she stumbled and fell in front of him, her eyes instantly misting over.
"Gu Yunting, you...how are you?"
There was a broken cry in her voice, and she wanted to touch the place where he was still bleeding with trembling hands, but she froze in mid-air and dared not touch it.
In her panic, she suddenly remembered that he urgently needed to stop the bleeding, so she quickly pulled off a large piece of her skirt to help him stop the bleeding, but as soon as her skirt touched his abdomen, the fabric and her fingers were soaked with blood.
What was even more terrifying was that Gu Yunting's body swayed and he was about to fall over. Fortunately, she was quick to catch him. She pulled him into her arms, looked at his bloodless face, and said with a bitter heart, "Gu Yunting, I'm going to take you to the hospital right now. You must hold on."
Gu Yunting's eyelashes trembled slightly, and only the blurry figure of Su Mengxue remained in his eyes. He raised his hand with great effort to cover her face, gently wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes. He forced a difficult smile through the corners of his bloodstained lips: "Don't cry, I... I'm fine."
After he finished speaking, his gaze shifted to Wang Jun, who was not far away. His Adam's apple rolled with difficulty as he said worriedly, "You must be careful... be careful of him."
Su Mengxue followed his gaze and looked at Wang Jun who was half-kneeling on the ground. The blood in her body instantly froze. At this moment, she wished she could cut Wang Jun into pieces.
But she quickly regained consciousness. The most important thing now was to take Gu Yunting to the hospital. She bit her lower lip tightly, holding back her tears and the grief in her heart, and choked out, "Gu Yunting, you must hold on. I'll take you to the hospital right away."
"Don't worry about me, leave quickly before he does... leave!" Gu Yunting was barely breathing.
Su Mengxue cried and shook her head: "Gu Yunting, you were injured because of me. How could I leave you alone? If we have to go, we should go together."
Gu Yunting watched Wang Jun struggle to stand up, but he couldn't muster any strength. He knew that if Su Mengxue didn't leave, it would be too late. He used up his last bit of strength and yelled at her, "Get out, Su Mengxue, do you understand? Don't implicate me anymore. I told you to get out."
Su Mengxue knew that Gu Yunting scolded her because he was afraid that something might happen to her if she stayed here, but he was seriously injured for her, so how could she possibly leave him alone?
Tears glistened in her eyes, and she replied firmly, "Gu Yunting, I will never leave you alone."
In a hurry, Gu Yunting accidentally touched the jade pendant on Su Mengxue's neck when his fingers fell.
Su Mengxue was about to speak when she suddenly saw a thick red light radiating from Gu Yunting's body. Red light? She froze in place, her breathing stagnant, and then a wave of fear rushed into her heart.
She burst into tears instantly, and a broken sob came from her throat: "Gu Yunting, please... please don't be in any trouble, please hold on... I'll take you to the hospital right now."
As she spoke, she avoided his abdomen where the knife was inserted, gritted her teeth, propped up her knees and staggered to stand up. Gu Yunting's heavy body almost crushed her, but she knew she must not fall down. She dug her fingers into her palms, forced herself to maintain her balance, and strode out holding Gu Yunting.
After she took a few steps, she noticed a layer of green light on Wang Jun's body out of the corner of her eye. Green light represents danger. She realized that Wang Jun would not let them leave. She looked around anxiously and soon noticed the wooden stick stuck in the corner.
She calmly carried Gu Yunting to the corner and carefully put him aside. She picked up the wooden stick in the corner and held it tightly in her hand. Just as she was about to walk towards Wang Jun, she was stopped by Gu Yunting.
"It's dangerous, don't...don't go."
Su Mengxue squatted down and looked at Gu Yunting, whispering: "Gu Yunting, trust me, I can protect you."
Gu Yunting knew what Su Mengxue was going to do. His fingertips trembled as he reached for the corner of Su Mengxue's clothes, but they fell powerlessly in mid-air. A layer of fine cold sweat suddenly appeared on his forehead. He was now a little unconscious. He knew that he could not protect her.
Tears of fear quickly blurred his vision. He shook his head desperately at Su Mengxue and begged bitterly, "Please... just go away, okay?"
"Gu Yunting, I won't leave." Su Mengxue held his cold hand and said resolutely: "Gu Yunting, if we go, we go together. If we die, we die together."
The burning tears in Gu Yunting's eyes fell on the back of Su Mengxue's hand. A broken voice escaped from his throat: "No... I don't want you to die. I can't bear it."
Just when Gu Yunting's consciousness was gradually becoming blurred, he saw Wang Jun holding a knife in his hand, limping towards the two of them. His eyes darkened and he quickly made up his mind.
He looked at Su Mengxue with reluctance and murmured softly, "Even for me, you have to live well."
After he said that, he pulled her aside, pulled out the dagger embedded in her abdomen, and when Wang Jun pounced on him, he used his last bit of strength to stab the dagger into his heart.
Then a stream of warm blood instantly splattered on his face. He saw Wang Jun fall to the ground with his eyes wide open, and no longer responsive.
Only then did he notice that the wound on his abdomen was also bleeding like a fountain. He had no strength left, his legs went limp, and he fell heavily into a pool of blood.
He struggled to open his eyes and looked at Su Mengxue who was half-kneeling beside him and crying loudly. He wanted to raise his hand to wipe away the tears on her face, but his fingertips trembled and fell. His eyelids became heavier and heavier, and the blood in his body was flowing more and more. He knew that there was a high probability that he would not survive.
Before leaving, he wanted to tell Su Mengxue that he really couldn't bear to leave her and wanted to remind her to live well, but he used all his strength to move his lips, but no sound came out. Finally, his eyes turned black and he fainted.
………
Su Mengxue curled up in the corner of the operating room, her back pressed against the cold tiles, her blood-stained skirt had hardened into a lump. Her eyes were fixed on the red light that read "In Surgery", her heart was beating violently in her chest, and the intense fear almost overwhelmed her.
For her, every second of waiting was like torture. She was afraid to hear any sound coming from the operating room, but she also hoped that the door would open and the doctor would bring her good news.
She could only pray over and over in her heart, praying that Gu Yunting would be safe and sound.
Just as she was feeling anxious, she waited for Gu Weiguo and Sun Suqin. Behind them was a middle-aged man with a military uniform covered with medals. He had a serious face and a slightly gloomy look.
