Chapter 33 Treat

"slight!"

Lin Yulan held the baby in her arms and looked at Su Jianwei who pushed the door open with a smile on her face.

Su Jianwei looked around and found that the man on the upper bunk still had not returned, and the girl on the upper bunk was not there either.

Sitting in the seats that originally belonged to the young couple were Mu Shijia and Mu Shiming.

"Hello, uncle and aunt."

Su Jianwei greeted her politely, walked over to Lin Yulan and sat down next to her, asking with his eyes what was going on.

"The baby isn't in a very good mood today. Your Aunt Mu doesn't quite understand, so she came over to ask."

Su Jianwei was different from Lin Yulan. She didn't really believe Mu Shijia's excuse because the nanny next to her didn't seem to know nothing.

Mu Shijia also sensed some of Su Jianwei's defensiveness. She smiled and said, "Besides, I was bored in the carriage, so I wanted to come over and chat with Sister Lan."

"Although Sister Lan is only one year older than me, she knows much more than I do."

Lin Yulan smiled and said, "It's nothing. I figured it out little by little by myself."

Su Jianwei looked at Lin Yulan's defenseless appearance, and was afraid that before he came back, the brother and sister in front of him had almost figured out her secrets.

Mu Shijia looked at her son, who was held in Lin Yulan's arms without crying or making a fuss, and said with a soft light in her eyes, "This little one in our family is the most noisy."

"You were crying before you came here, but when you saw Sister Lan, you became quiet."

Mu Shijia looked at the little one in Lin Yulan's arms, looking at Lin Yulan's smile, and said with a little envy: "Sister Lan, look, he is smiling at you!"

Normally, she and the nanny tried their best to amuse him, but he wouldn't laugh.

As a result, Lin Yulan just hugged him, and he couldn't stop smiling at her.

"It seems he also knows that it was you, Sister Lan, who saved him."

Lin Yulan smiled and said, "Children are actually very sensitive to their surroundings. He may feel that our current environment is relatively relaxed, so he is willing to smile."

Mu Shijia didn't take Lin Yulan's unintentional words to heart, but Mu Shiming, who had been sitting next to his sister, took it to heart.

"Ms. Lin seems to be particularly good at taking care of children."

Mu Shiming was not as aggressive today as he was yesterday, so Lin Yulan smiled and said, "I like children very much."

"Besides, I was the only one who raised Weiwei since she was a child, so I might have observed her more."

Mu Shiming looked at Lin Yulan and raised his eyebrows slightly, then continued: "Won't your husband help you?"

"We divorced before Weiwei was born."

Thinking of Su Zhiping who caused them to move away, Lin Yulan's tone became low.

"I'm sorry, Sister Lan."

Mu Shijia secretly glanced at her brother. Normally, her brother was not the kind of person who liked to inquire about other people's family background. What happened to him this time?

Lin Yulan listened to Mu Shijia's apology and smiled nonchalantly: "What's there to be sorry about? I feel so lucky to have severed ties with that scumbag so early."

"As long as he doesn't interfere with our lives, my mother and I will always have a better life."

Mu Shijia nodded and said, "That's right, life is getting better and better."

After that, Mu Shiming did not ask any more questions involving privacy. Mu Shijia's topics of conversation were about how to take care of children or dietary issues, so the two of them had a very harmonious conversation.

Time passed unknowingly, and it was not until Meng Jiao and her followers bought food and entered the carriage that Mu Shijia stopped with a reluctant look on his face.

She liked chatting with Lin Yulan, without any purpose and full of sincerity.

Mu Shijia smelled the faint aroma of rice in the air and invited with a smile: "Sister Lan, I know what happened yesterday was a piece of cake for you, but can you give me a chance to thank you?"

Lin Yulan thought they still wanted to give her cash like yesterday. Before she could say no, she heard Mu Shijia say, "I know you don't want yesterday's red envelope, so why don't I treat you and Weiwei to a simple meal at noon today!"

Mu Shiming smiled and said, "It's just a simple meal."

Lin Yulan held the child in her arms and looked at Su Jianwei beside her.

After seeing Lin Yulan's action, Mu Shiming looked at Su Jianwei, who had not spoken much since entering the car.

For this mother and daughter, it seems like the high school student daughter is the one who makes the decision.

After seeing Su Jianwei nod, Lin Yulan smiled and agreed to Mu Shijia, "Okay, my mother and I haven't eaten the meal on the train yet."

"Actually, it's pretty much the same as the ones below. Sister Lan, let's go."

Mu Shijia took the baby from Lin Yulan's arms, and everyone walked towards the dining carriage together.

The food prepared on the train tasted OK, but not even one-tenth as good as Lin Yulan's.

Lin Yulan’s cooking skills are truly amazing.

Lin Yulan simply ate a little and then put down her chopsticks. Su Jianwei looked at the half bun left by Lin Yulan and took it in his hand.

There was no way she could bear to see food wasted.

Su Jianwei basically finished all six dishes and one soup.

Lin Yulan has been used to eating food cooked by her adoptive father and his cooking skills since she was a child, so she is not used to eating food outside.

Mu Shiming and Mu Shijia were used to eating good food and had little interest in these oily and salty meals.

Only Su Jianwei hadn't eaten fresh meals for many years, so even if the food in front of her was not as delicious as her mother's, she still habitually ate it all.

Mu Shijia looked at Su Jianwei and said silently: "Hmm~, Weiwei has a really good appetite."

She was really just surprised, without any malice.

Although Su Jianwei ate very quickly and ate a lot, she never crossed the line and was not picky. It was just like... she had been hungry for a long time.

It was the first time she saw a girl eat so much.

There was a hint of pity in Lin Yulan's eyes when she looked at Su Jianwei. She smiled and said, "Well, children with big appetites are blessed."

Su Jianwei put down the water glass and looked at the empty plates on the table, feeling only a little embarrassed.

In the end times, a steamed bun can be exchanged for a life.

But now is not the end of the world after all, she should control her appetite. After all, there are abundant supplies in this era, so she shouldn't starve.

After lunch, they chatted for a while. Mu Shijia said goodbye to Lin Yulan and Su Jianwei only after he saw that his baby had fallen asleep.

"Sister Lan, let's go back to the carriage first."

"Okay, bye."

On the way back with the child in his arms, Mu Shijia looked at the silent Mu Shiming and said, "Brother, are you relieved now?"

Mu Shiming nodded. "Although she doesn't seem to have a high level of education, she is very knowledgeable about nutrition and even medicinal cuisine."

"You are not in good health, so you can contact her more often in the future."

Mu Shijia looked at his elder brother, was silent for a moment, and nodded, "I understand."
