Yan Xin watched from the side. Lin Xiazhu sat with Xiao An at the dining table and watched him finish eating. Xiao An ate very quickly, but his movements were still elegant and graceful. Lin Xiazhu was somewhat mesmerized by what she saw.
I couldn't help but think that good-looking people look good no matter what they do.
After finishing their late-night snack, Xiao An didn't want to talk anymore because Yan Xin was there. He sat for half an hour and then left. Lin Xiazhu escorted him to the elevator and watched it go down before returning.
"Tsk tsk, I really don't believe you two are nothing." Yan Xin squinted, looking as if she had discovered the truth.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Lin Xiazhu didn't want to pay attention to her.
"Don't deny it. You were drooling while you were watching Xiao An eat. It was so embarrassing." Yan Xin shook her head again.
Lin Xiazhu paused, subconsciously raising her hand to wipe the corner of her mouth. Surely not? Was she really that shameless?
"Hey, Xiaozhu, do you think you might have fallen for Xiao'an?" Yan Xin looked at her meaningfully.
Lin Xiazhu wasn't in a hurry to go into the room. She stroked her chin and started thinking seriously. Then she walked to the sofa and sat down. After a long while, she glared at Yan Xin.
"I only glanced at him a couple of times, and you're thinking such filthy things. Can't I just appreciate Xiao An's good looks? You must be lusting after his beauty?"
"Also, what does 'iron tree blooming' mean? You need to explain that to me clearly."
“You were still single in your thirties in your past life, and you have no intention of getting married in this life. You’re completely clueless. Now you’re suddenly interested in men. What else could it be but a rare occurrence?” Yan Xin analyzed seriously.
"You talk as if you've ever had one. You've lived three lifetimes, including the ten years you spent in my mother's body in your past life, plus now, and you still haven't had a boyfriend. You're the real iron tree," Lin Xiazhu said angrily.
Yan Xin: "..." It was just an example, was it really necessary to get so worked up? It looks like she's angry and embarrassed.
"Okay, now I'm an iron tree too. With me here for you, you should calm down, right?" This is really difficult.
"Who wants to be an iron tree with you? I'll find you a boyfriend in a couple of days, hmph." Lin Xiazhu stormed into the room, as if she had been provoked.
Let's wait and see.
Yan Xin really wanted to see where she was going to find a boyfriend.
Back in her room, Lin Xiazhu collapsed onto the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling for a long time. Actually, she wasn't angry, just a little guilty. When Yan Xin said she had taken a liking to Xiao An, her heart skipped a beat.
So, after all this time, she's been thinking about Xiao An, this young and handsome guy? Oh no, her thoughts are no longer pure; she wants to marry Xiao An.
Actually, she had had such thoughts before, but she suppressed them and pretended they weren't there. But now Xiao An is becoming more and more mature, and she still has a bit of childishness on her face. She is very suitable for settling down and starting a family.
Sigh, such good genes shouldn't be allowed to flow into other people's fields; we should keep them for ourselves.
After tossing and turning, Lin Xiazhu made a decision: she would pursue Xiao An, but she couldn't scare him. She would test his reaction first. If he really couldn't accept it, then so be it. What if he liked her too? That wouldn't be a cooperative relationship.
She should keep this to herself and not tell anyone else, especially Yan Xin. She absolutely must not let Yan Xin know, otherwise she will definitely say that she is an old cow eating young grass and that she is indecent or something.
Lin Xiazhu was also quite uneasy. She always felt that Xiao An was someone she had raised, like her own child. Now that she was going to harm her own child, the thought was terrifying.
So I started to have second thoughts. It seemed like the evil hand couldn't reach too far. Maybe I should just let the child go?
The next morning, Lin Xiazhu had dark circles under her eyes and was unsteady on her feet. Yan Xin had intended to have her make breakfast, but she was startled when she saw her like this.
"You didn't sleep last night, you went out to steal chickens and dogs?"
"Yeah, I was a thief all night." Lin Xiazhu gave her a dirty look.
"You must have reaped a lot. Tell me, what good stuff did you steal?"
"Stealing someone." Lin Xiazhu replied weakly, then swayed off to the kitchen to find something to eat.
Yan Xin gasped and followed him into the kitchen. "Were you having a wet dream? That must have been a bit too intense!"
"Believe it or not, I'll punch you so hard your head will explode!" Lin Xiazhu closed the refrigerator. Inside were only bread and milk, neither of which she liked. She wanted some porridge.
"Go and cook some porridge for me. I'm going back to lie down for a while, you hear me? Otherwise, I'll beat you up."
She wants to be waited on, yet her attitude is so bad. She's been spoiled rotten. I guess I can't be so nice to her anymore.
Despite her inner grumbling, Yan Xin still dutifully cooked porridge, stir-fried some greens, and poached two eggs. After placing them on the table, she went to her room to call for someone.
"The porridge is ready, get up and eat! Don't sleep anymore, or you'll be late for class." Yan Xin tried to pull the blanket away, but found she couldn't budge it at all.
Lin Xiazhu remained motionless, wrapped in the bed sheet, for a while before slowly sitting up. Her eyes were lifeless as she said, "That's why going to work is so troublesome. You always have to get up on time, and even if you don't feel like it, you have to force yourself to get up. It's so torturous."
"You used to be so self-disciplined, it's so hard to get used to you suddenly becoming like this. Have you been possessed by a lazybones?" Yan Xin was completely defeated by her.
Lin Xiazhu, with her hair all messy, got out of bed and glanced at Yan Xin indifferently. "Back then, there was no other way. I had to support my family and earn money for my retirement. It will be the same from now on."
Self-discipline is often forced out. Like in her past life, she worked in a factory, working eight to eighty-two hours a day, with shift work. The shortest shifts were once a week, the normal ones were once every half month, and the worst ones were once a month.
