Chapter 188 Getting Angry While Reading

He knew it, but he refused to face reality and couldn't help but do things to cover up the past, which was meaningless.

Lin Meiyu was shocked and wanted to say something, but she shivered from the cold and sneezed. "Achoo... I'm cold. Quickly, put your coat on me. Do you want me to freeze to death?"

That damn man had no tact whatsoever. He just let her sit in the car, soaking wet, without even finding a dry towel to wipe her down. She was freezing, so she had no mind to discuss anything else.

After Chen Zinan took off his suit jacket and draped it over her, she urged him to drive quickly, "Hurry up and take me home. Yawn, I have scenes to film tomorrow. If I catch a cold, it will delay the filming process, and the director will scold me."

Although her background suggests she brought her own funding to the project, the director is a very famous figure in the industry. Even if she comes from a wealthy family and wants to continue her career in the entertainment industry, she wouldn't dare offend him.

Seeing that Lin Meiyu was in a bad mood and a bit furious, Chen Zinan suppressed his urge to continue complaining, started the car, and took his girlfriend home.

After waiting for about ten minutes, the rain subsided somewhat. Seeing that the troublemakers had left, Lin Xiazhu clicked her tongue and decided to hurry home. She also decided never to come to this restaurant again. If she ran into Chen Zinan and that Lin Meiyu again, she was afraid she really wouldn't be able to resist beating them to death.

Bai Ru'an took off his suit jacket and put it over her head, then put his arm around her and said, "Let's run over there while the rain isn't too heavy yet." The car was only ten meters away from the door. If they ran over, their pants might get wet at most, but their heads wouldn't get wet.

"Then what about you? Getting caught in the rain can easily cause a cold." Lin Xiazhu felt that she was stronger than Xiao An, so she gestured for him to come along.

Bai Ru'an tugged at the corner of her lips, and together they covered themselves with their coats and rushed out into the car. Both of them were quite soaked by the rain, but their hair was still dry, so they felt a little better.

On a rainy day, Bai Ru'an didn't dare to drive too fast. He controlled his speed and drove to the residential area where Lin Xiazhu lived. Lin Xiazhu took her suit jacket and went to open the car door.

"I'll need to keep a few umbrellas and raincoats in the car from now on," she muttered.

"Okay, I'll have someone prepare it tomorrow." Bai Ru'an agreed readily when she heard her muttering.

Lin Xiazhu curled her lips, walked around the front of the car and pulled Bai Ruan along. Her coat was already wet, so she covered herself with it. They were already home, and she could just wash her hair and take a shower when she got back.

Fortunately, there were two bathrooms in the house, one shared and one in the master bedroom. Bai Ru'an went to the shared bathroom to shower, while Lin Xiazhu showered in the master bedroom bathroom. After a comfortable shower, Lin Xiazhu came out wearing a bathrobe and went to find a hairdryer to dry her hair.

But she found that Xiao An hadn't finished washing yet. His hair was shorter than hers, and it was too slow for a grown man to take so long to wash. "Xiao An, aren't you done yet?"

"Xiaozhu, I don't have any clean clothes. Can you find me some?" The person inside seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. He had finished washing up ten minutes ago and was just waiting for her to finish so she could find him some clothes.

Lin Xiazhu sighed, realizing she had forgotten about that. "Wait a minute, I'll go find it right away."

Oh no, we don't have any men's clothes at home. What kind of clothes should we find to cover Xiao An up? Or should we just drape a bed sheet over him?

Lin Xiazhu searched through the wardrobes in several rooms. Just as she was about to take a bed sheet to cover Bai Ruan, she found a set of men's pajamas and a robe in one of the wardrobes.

When did they get men's clothing? After thinking for a moment, I remembered. It was the pajamas that Chacha bought for Song Cheng when he came over last time. I didn't bring them back, but they're perfect for Xiao An to wear.

Bai Ru'an came out of the bathroom wearing a set of pajamas that looked like capri pants. His handsome face was tense, and his peach blossom eyes were gloomy. He looked very angry.

"What's wrong? If the clothes don't fit, there's nothing I can do. Just wear them for now, and I'll buy you a few sets that fit properly another day." Lin Xiazhu noticed that the pajamas were a bit tight on him and thought he was uncomfortable because they were constricting him.

"How about wearing a bathrobe? It might be a bit short, but it should be more comfortable than pajamas." Lin Xiazhu ran into the room where she had found the pajamas, took out the bathrobe, and handed it to Bai Ruan.

Seeing that he was just staring at her with dark eyes but not moving, Lin Xiazhu blinked and stepped forward to start unbuttoning his shirt, trying to take off his pajamas.

Bai Ru'an took a deep breath, grabbed her mischievous little hand, and asked in a deep voice, "Whose pajamas and robes are these?" He originally wanted to ask 'which wild man's,' but realized that wouldn't be a good question, so he changed his mind.

“It’s Song Cheng’s.” Lin Xiazhu didn’t notice anything unusual about him.

"Who is Song Cheng?" Bai Ru'an was already gritting her teeth.

"Cha Cha's boyfriend, they came to Beijing together last time and stayed here for a while. Cha Cha bought Song Cheng these pajamas and robes, but he didn't take them back. They're perfect for you to wear." Lin Xiazhu answered naturally.

So that's how it is. Bai Ru'an's expression softened, but he was still a little unhappy. Even though Song Cheng was Cha Cha's boyfriend, the fact that a grown man was living under the same roof as Xiao Zhu made him feel uncomfortable.

“If Song Cheng comes over again, tell him to move out,” he said in a muffled voice.

Lin Xiazhu paused in her act of pulling off her pajamas, looked up at him in confusion, and saw the intense possessiveness in his eyes. Lin Xiazhu's heart skipped a beat, and she punched his shoulder in annoyance.

“Xiao An is so jealous, that’s unreasonable. Song Cheng is my brother-in-law. Cha Cha, Xiao Xue and Tao Zi were there at the time. Song Cheng wouldn’t have been wandering around the living room in his pajamas. He would have taken a shower after going back to his room at night and wouldn’t have come out.”

Even if he comes out in his pajamas, it's fine, right? What era are we living in? Xiao An's thinking is too conservative.

Bai Ru'an's eyes flickered slightly. He lowered his gaze to hide his true emotions, pretending to be busy changing into his bathrobe. He would never admit that even if that person was Xiao Zhu's brother-in-law, he would still mind.

Normally a composed and decisive young master, Bai was now huddled on the sofa with his eyelids drooping, his long eyelashes fluttering like two fans from time to time. He didn't say a word, holding a magazine in his hand as if he was reading it very seriously, but in reality, he was just sulking.

"I'm really scared of you. Okay, okay, from now on, if any relatives come over, as long as they're male, you can arrange it, alright?" Lin Xiazhu didn't want to talk to him, but this guy knew she felt sorry for him, so he put on a wronged look.

"You're too domineering. You were still abroad back then, and our relationship was so distant for those years. What right do you have to tell me what to do?" Lin Xiazhu also had a temper, and he couldn't be spoiled too much.

"You're the one who's distanced yourself from me," Xiao An complained in a low voice, like a neglected wife who had been ignored for a long time.

Lin Xiazhu denied it, although she was indeed a little angry at the time. She had promised to go back to her hometown to see her every year, but then she went abroad without warning, and the daily phone call turned into a weekly call.

“International calls are too expensive. It’s a waste of money to talk for so long. Of course, we should keep it short.” The main problem was that the two of them seemed to have nothing in common anymore. Xiao An talked to her about the customs and culture of foreign countries, as well as Grandpa Bai’s illness.

But all she wanted to know was how he was doing, and he didn't like to talk about himself, so Lin Xiazhu didn't want to hear it.
