Lin Xiazhu: "..." I'm so angry, I feel like I've been looked down upon.
"Xiao An, Grandpa thinks I'm dirty," she complained.
"Don't blame him. It's covered in your saliva. If you don't let him eat it, I'll be upset too. It's okay, I'll eat with you." Bai Ru'an said calmly.
"From now on, I must eat quietly; I must not talk while eating or sleeping," Lin Xiazhu said, trying to save face.
"We'll go back to the Garden Community tomorrow, so we won't see him there," Bai Ru'an said in a low voice.
Bai Zhengping: "..." I heard that.
At night, of course, I didn't do anything, just slept. After a whole day of running around, aren't you tired? You need to be moderate in everything you do. It's good to get some rest tonight, everyone. You still have to go to work tomorrow.
Life after marriage remained peaceful, but with a few sweet troubles. At night, I could no longer have the whole table to myself and sleep however I wanted; I would be bothered for an hour or two. But most of the time, it was still sweet.
This can be seen from Lin Xiazhu's occasional blank stares or sudden silly laughter, which Yan Xin couldn't stand and would seize any opportunity to tease her.
"Tsk tsk, women who have been pampered are just different. It's something we single guys can't understand. Tone it down a bit. Don't always act like a naive and innocent girl. It's so irritating."
Lin Xiazhu only gave her a look that said, "You're just jealous," completely ignoring her words.
June arrived in the blink of an eye, and Song Cheng called from his hometown to say that Lin Chacha had given birth a month early. She gave birth to her first child at five o'clock this morning, and her second child was born just five minutes later. It was a natural birth, and she didn't suffer much.
Last night, she had severe contractions in the middle of the night, so Song Cheng took her to the county hospital. She gave birth to twin boys after four hours in the delivery room. One weighed five pounds and the other four pounds and eight ounces. They were both healthy and did not need to be placed in an incubator.
"That's great! Congratulations, Song Cheng, on becoming a father! You're so lucky to have two sons!" Lin Xiazhu joked with a smile, but quickly became serious.
"I will go back when Chacha is a month old and take good care of her. I must make sure she has a proper postpartum period and not be careless in the slightest."
"I know, big sister. The two nannies have already arrived. They are very efficient, so you don't need to worry. The chicken farm has a hundred chickens that have never eaten any feed. They are fed only corn and millet. More than a dozen of them have been raised for over a year, and the rest have been raised for at least eight months. We will make sure that Chacha is well-fed."
Song Cheng was very happy, and his voice was raised as he spoke. He kept grinning from ear to ear on the other end of the phone.
According to the elders, the longer a chicken is raised, the more nutritious it is. In the past, people didn't have the means to eat many chickens during their postpartum period. Cha Cha and Song Cheng had the means, so they raised about a hundred chickens in advance. A few of them died, but there were still a hundred left, enough for Cha Cha to eat for two or three months.
Lin Chacha has a big appetite; one chicken a day isn't enough for her. Plus, she's breastfeeding, so he usually adds eggs, pig's trotters, mutton, fish, and other things to her diet. Song Cheng has even written down the menu, just in case he's not treating his wife and child well.
"Cha Cha gave birth?" Yan Xin was right next to Lin Xiazhu when she answered the call and heard a little, but not clearly.
"Yes, she gave birth to twin big, healthy boys. They're so strong and chubby. Song Cheng just sent me a picture message, look!" Lin Xiazhu, now an aunt, laughed with joy.
Yan Xin quickly leaned over and looked at the photos Song Cheng had sent, her eyes filled with surprise and tenderness. "So cute! They look exactly the same!"
"Yes, they are identical twins! Yanxin, I'm on my period! I'm so happy! Tonight, I'll pay for extra food for the workers—a chicken leg and a fried egg for each of them." Lin Xiazhu waved her hand generously, her generosity overflowing.
“One isn’t enough, I’ll contribute one too, two chicken legs and two fried eggs each.” Yan Xin was also happy, feeling like she had become a grandmother.
"Then it's settled. We'll celebrate together tonight. I'll treat you to Western food, and my husband will pay." Lin Xiazhu was in such a good mood that she kept talking nonstop.
By the afternoon, all the workers at the "Five-Star Factory" knew that General Manager Lin's sister had given birth to twin sons. General Manager Lin and General Manager Yan paid for extra meals for them out of their own pockets, which made everyone very happy.
Some of the sweet-talkers congratulated them directly, saying, "President Lin, congratulations on becoming an aunt! You have a pair of adorable twin nephews."
"Thank you," Lin Xiazhu smiled.
"Tsk tsk, isn't this a bit too much? You didn't even celebrate like this when you got your marriage certificate. Nobody even knows you're married yet. Should we add another chicken leg?" Yan Xin teased.
"We won't announce the wedding beforehand. We'll talk about it at the wedding banquet. We'll definitely give out wedding candy then. I'm not in a hurry, so why are you?" Lin Xiazhu glared at her amusedly.
“I’m not in a hurry at all. I just feel sorry for Xiao An. You didn’t look as happy when you got married as you do now.”
"Who said I wasn't happy at my wedding? I took three days off. You didn't see me during those days, so how would you know if I was happy or not? I was very busy those days."
Busy with what? Of course, busy doing what I love to do.
"Alright, alright, hurry up and go. Who wants to hear your lovey-dovey talk?" Yan Xin said with a look of disgust. She had originally wanted to tease her, but unfortunately, the other person didn't fall for it and even fed her a mouthful of dog food.
"It's your question." Lin Xiazhu remained seated, her back to the door, so she didn't see Bai Ruan come in earlier.
"Stop talking nonsense. The other person on your marriage certificate is here to pick you up. Hurry up and go with him. Remember to treat me to dinner tonight. I want to drink 1982 Lafite." Yan Xin took the opportunity to fleece him.
"It's too expensive, let's choose another one." Lin Xiazhu turned her head to look at it first, and then immediately refused.
"Huh?" Bai Ruan was still unaware of what had happened. He rarely came over at noon because the company was too busy. Today, he skipped work early to pick up Lin Xiazhu for lunch, so he didn't have to go to the company in the afternoon; he had given himself a day off.
He had been working overtime every day to complete a project, leaving early and returning late, and hadn't rested on weekends. He finally finished it yesterday, and he needed to take some time to be with his wife.
"Xiao An, Cha Cha gave birth to two big, healthy sons this morning! I'm an aunt now, and you're an uncle! Let's go celebrate together tonight!" Lin Xiazhu got up, hugged his neck, and happily nuzzled her head against his chest.
Again, Xiu, Yan Xin silently looked away.
"By the way, are you done with work at the company? What brings you here?" Lin Xiazhu suddenly remembered to ask him about it.
Bai Ru'an reached out and put her arm around her waist, and said softly, "Once you're done with work, you won't be going to the company this afternoon. You need to make time to be with me."
"...Ahem, let's go eat first." Lin Xiazhu suddenly blushed, seemingly lost in thought.
"Let's have dinner together tonight. Order whatever you want, it's on me." He said this to Yan Xin, as he was always generous to Xiao Zhu's friends.
"It's settled then. See you tonight. You two better control yourselves and don't overdo it. If you can't get up and miss my dinner, you're doomed." Yan Xin and Lin Xiazhu had become close, so she dared to say anything.
"It won't be a mistake, don't be jealous." Lin Xiazhu winked at her.
Bai Ru'an pretended not to understand.
