Chapter Fifty-Six: The Leopard?

For some reason, after being reborn, Lin Xiazhu could always see the ginseng growing place immediately. She thought of her and Chacha falling off this cliff in her previous life. They were so high, yet they were both still alive, one with a broken leg and the other with one blind eye.

All the memories of the past made her feel dazed. Now, with three ginseng plants mysteriously moved to the cliff, she couldn't help but want to come down and see what the cause and effect of all this was.

A gust of cold wind blew by, and she quickly came to her senses. No matter why, the tragedy would not repeat itself, and she would not allow it.

Lin Xiazhu took out a small shovel, dug up the wild ginseng and put it in her cloth bag. Without thinking too much, she started climbing. She was strong and fast, and quickly reached the top of the mountain. When she reached the last meter, she jumped up and stood on the top of the mountain.

"Roar, howl..." A gust of wind rushed towards her from the front. Lin Xiazhu's pupils dilated, and she subconsciously grabbed the thing that was hitting her with both hands, and quickly rolled to the side, away from the cliff.

After rolling a few meters, Lin Xiazhu crashed into a pine tree as thick as an adult's arm. She was pinned underneath it, with the thing she was choking on above her. Looking closely, she realized...

A hundred thousand curses surged through her mind. The creature that attacked her was a leopard. She couldn't recognize what kind of leopard it was. This big cat was very fierce, its mouth wide open, as if it wanted to bite her neck.

The speed of a leopard is unimaginable. No wonder Lin Xiazhu only managed to grab its neck but couldn't escape. It seems that she is still slightly inferior to the speed of a leopard.

However, it wasn't so easy for it to bite her. It couldn't outrun her speed, but it could crush her with its strength. Lin Xiazhu's expression hardened, and she flipped over and jumped up, pinning the leopard beneath her. Then she punched it on the head.

The beast rolled its eyes, tilted its head, and fainted.

Little brat, she only used 40% of her strength, and this big cat couldn't hold on. If she used her full strength, the cat's head would be shattered.

"I'll spare your life, and hopefully we won't meet again, or I'll skin you alive." Lin Xiazhu dropped the big cat, and to avoid any unforeseen complications, quickly packed up the rope and hurried back.

Running non-stop at top speed, Lin Xiazhu finally made it back to the cabin before sunset. Exhausted, she collapsed in the yard, her heart pounding wildly.

Oh my god, I was so scared! Even though she had superhuman strength, Lin Xiazhu still couldn't help but feel lingering fear when facing such a dangerous and ferocious animal as a big cat.

She had heard from the elders that there were leopards and tigers in the deep mountains, but no one had ever encountered them, so everyone thought it was just a legend and no one really believed it. Until just now, Lin Xiazhu saw it with her own eyes and was even forced to confront it. She was really frightened.

What if there really is a tiger? She had a feeling that she wasn't as good as Wu Song at fighting tigers. Even if she had that ability, what if she accidentally killed one? How would she explain it to her superiors?

That's a nationally protected animal.

"Sister, what happened to you? Are you hurt?" Lin Chacha rushed out of the wooden house. She had just gone inside to get rice and prepare to cook when she heard the door outside being slammed open with a "bang".

Hearing the noise, she immediately came out and saw Lin Xiazhu sitting down on the ground with a thud, then lying down and panting heavily, which startled her.

Xiao An had already sat down next to Lin Xiazhu when she rushed in, intending to help her up, but the latter waved her hand to indicate that she didn't need it and wanted to rest for a while.

She wanted to lie down, so Xiao An sat quietly beside her, gazing through the treetops at the sky draped in a layer of red clouds. All around them were birdsong and insect chirps, and occasionally the howls of small animals could be heard from afar...

"Xiao An, quickly help my sister up. She doesn't look well; she must be injured somewhere." Lin Chacha tugged at her but couldn't lift Lin Xiazhu up, and then panicked.

Xiao An stared intently at Lin Xiazhu and noticed that her face was indeed a little pale. He reached out and touched Lin Xiazhu's forehead with concern, "Sister, are you feeling unwell?"

"...No, I'm not injured, I was just a little frightened. Let me catch my breath." Lin Xiazhu's breathing calmed down, and she felt much better.

"Give me a bowl of water, I'm dying of thirst."

Xiao An immediately ran to make a bowl of honey water for her. He first handed the bowl to Lin Chacha, then helped Lin Xiazhu up so she could lean against him before taking the bowl and feeding her the water.

Lin Xiazhu didn't think much of it throughout, letting the two of them treat her like a weak patient. After drinking the honey water, her mood improved, and she immediately wanted to get up.

"If you're feeling unwell, lean on it for a bit and don't move around." Xiao An frowned and pressed down on someone with a slender hand.

Lin Xiazhu: "..." She's recovered; she's full of energy, both mentally and physically.

“I’m not that weak, you don’t need to lie down.” Lin Xiazhu broke free from Xiao An’s grasp with a little effort. After standing up, she also pulled Xiao An up and led him to sit down on a wooden bench.

"Come and see, I found something." She pulled out a ginseng root the size of a radish from her bosom; the wild ginseng still had fresh soil clinging to it.

It was plump and white, and exuded a strong ginseng aroma.

"Sis, we really found it! That's amazing!" Lin Chacha's eyes widened, and she grinned, revealing a mouthful of tiny teeth.

"Where did you find it?" Xiao An asked the crucial question.

"It's just a little way down from the top of the mountain, but it's exhausted." Lin Xiazhu had already prepared her answer; she certainly wouldn't say that she found it on a cliff face.

Xiao An wanted to ask more questions, but Lin Xiazhu, afraid of being tricked into revealing information, wiped the mud off the ginseng while subtly changing the subject.

"Cha Cha, hurry up and cook. Take one of the wild rabbits you caught yesterday and stew it with red mushrooms. I don't want roasted meat today, I want soup."

"Okay, I'll go make it right away." She was already planning to cook, but her older sister's return delayed her a bit.
