A minute later, Lin Xiazhu called and came over. "Let's go." She already knew where the nearest police station was.
About 100 meters away from the police station, the thug who was walking closest suddenly knocked Xiao An down and ran away. However, the six of them were tied together, and they couldn't escape unless the rope was cut.
The first few roosters were pulled backward by him, and due to inertia, the one that tried to escape was pulled down the hardest.
Tsk, this hoodlum's IQ is questionable. Why did he go through all that trouble to pull this stunt?
Lin Xiazhu helped Xiao An up, "Xiao An, are you hurt anywhere?"
"I'm fine." Xiao An shook her head gently. Apart from being a little pale, she seemed to be alright.
But Lin Xiazhu noticed that he had one hand hidden behind his back. She pulled his hand over, rolled up his sleeve, and saw that Xiao An's arm was badly scraped and bleeding.
Damn it, he dares to cause trouble right under her nose, she won't let him get away with it.
Lin Xiazhu walked over to the person who had tried to escape earlier with a grim expression and started punching him repeatedly. Of course, there was a technique to hitting someone; you had to make sure there were no visible injuries but still hurt a lot.
"Sister, let me do it!" Lin Chacha's eyes lit up, and she rolled up her sleeves, eager to try.
"Alright, that's enough. If you keep hitting him, he won't be able to take it." The main problem is that we're already at the police station. If the beating is too obvious, it will be hard to explain later.
"It's nothing, we were acting in self-defense, what's there to be afraid of?" Yan Xin said angrily. They could have gone back to the hotel to wash up and go to sleep, but these punks kept them up until the middle of the night and made them walk so much that they got blisters on their feet. How could they not be angry?
"Stop shouting, the police officers from the station are coming out." There were only two officers on duty at the police station late at night, and they came out as soon as they heard the commotion.
"What are you doing?" the police officer asked loudly.
"Uncle, we're here to report a robbery. We just called the police, and these people are robbing us..." Lin Xiazhu quickly walked over and explained the situation.
"You were the one who called the police just now. We were just about to head over."
"No need, we've brought them over." Waiting for you to come? There are some things I shouldn't say.
The police officers were taken aback. "You've run into some good people? Who helped arrest these people?"
Actually, there was only one person on duty at the station at night. When we received the emergency call, the person on duty immediately notified the others. However, not everyone has a phone at home, so it took a while for the notification to reach everyone.
Now that the people who called the police have all been arrested, they seem less important. But there's no use thinking too much about it; let's just take their statements first.
The few people with the rooster comb were locked up for interrogation, while Lin Xiazhu and the others were taken to give statements outside. After they understood what had happened, the police officers said they could go home first, but they might be summoned for further questioning later.
“We will cooperate with your work. We will be in the city for the next few days and will be staying at the XX Hotel. Just call the hotel when you arrive,” Lin Xiazhu said.
She didn't know the hotel's phone number either.
It was already 1 a.m. when they returned to the hotel from the police station. The receptionist was not the beautiful woman who had helped them check in before, but another slightly chubby young woman who was working the shift with her. She was wearing a dress and had no makeup on.
His voice was like a loudspeaker; as soon as he saw them come in, he yelled, "Which room are you staying in? Have you paid your bill? What are you doing back so late?"
After a whole night of fussing, Lin Xiazhu was already seething with anger. Since her rebirth, her biological clock has been very punctual, and she rarely stays up this late. Not being able to sleep on time made her very unhappy, and the receptionist just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Lin Xiazhu gathered her strength and unleashed a powerful roar, yelling, "What are you shouting for? Would we have come in if we hadn't paid? Are you trying to scare me in the middle of the night? Can't you speak properly?"
Xiao An: "..." Her ears were ringing a little, and she wanted to rub her sensitive ears.
Yan Xin and the others: "..." Who's scaring the ghost? No, who's the ghost? Can you guys not be so agitated?
The receptionist instinctively took a step back after being yelled at, but there wasn't much space behind the counter, so she leaned against the shelf and forced herself to stand firm, saying weakly, "This is, this is the hotel's rule. You're here so late, I have to ask, otherwise how can I guarantee the safety of the guests? Do you think just anyone can come in?"
"You can't even tell good people from bad people, what kind of receptionist are you? I'm young and old, how do I look like a bad person?" Lin Xiazhu's voice still didn't lower.
Who says a receptionist has to be able to distinguish between good and bad people? All she does is collect money, register people, and when she's on the night shift, she just symbolically asks why she's coming home late.
She had always asked in this tone and volume before without any problems. Why did she encounter such a difficult person today, especially since the other person was just a little kid?
Forget it, the receptionist is a bully who picks on the weak and fears the strong. When faced with someone as domineering as Lin Xiazhu, even though the other party is just a child, she doesn't dare to ask any more questions.
Back in her room, Yan Xin looked grim. The more she thought about it, the more something seemed wrong. In the end, she couldn't resist and went next door to find Lin Xiazhu.
"Who are you referring to as 'old'? Zhao Xiaolian is only twenty-eight years old, how can she be considered old?" Yan Xin wasn't feeling sorry for Zhao Xiaolian; she just felt she was being subtly insulted.
"Don't make a sound, I want to sleep. We can talk about it tomorrow." Lin Xiazhu lay down on the bed and closed her eyes, not wanting to talk to anyone.
"You, you better explain yourself clearly, and you'd better not drag me into your conversations in the future," Yan Xin warned her in the most timid tone.
"Who wants to drag you into this? It's you who's haunting me, Zhao Xiaolian!" Lin Xiazhu said pointedly, emphasizing the name Zhao Xiaolian.
Sensing the threat in her tone, Yan Xin immediately calmed down. She was furious; how dare she challenge Lin Xiazhu? That girl could crush her if she got angry.
