Chapter 53: The Guanyin Devil Murder Case

Chapter 53: The Guanyin Devil Murder Case

Xu Heye was still unaware of her mother's actions. After she finished the call and came out of the grocery store, she saw a group of children around eleven or twelve years old surrounding Lian Jiashu, calling him a fool and throwing branches, mud and stones at him.

"What are you doing? Are you bullying me?" Xu Heye shouted with a dark face.

As soon as the group of children saw Xu Heye, they immediately scattered in fear.

The most mischievous boy among them did not leave. Instead, he said to Xu Heye with a playful smile: "We are playing with the fool!"

"Play? Who plays by throwing mud and rocks at people?" Xu Heye said, picking up a piece of mud from the ground and pointing at the boy. "Come here, I want to play with you."

"I'm not stupid, so why would I just stand there and let you hit me?"

"You know hitting people is not good, so why did you hit Lian Jiashu?"

"Let's go, let's go. I don't want to play with idiots anymore!" The child stuck out his tongue and ran away mischievously.

After everyone had run away, Xu Heye walked over to Lian Jiashu and said helplessly, "You're such a fool! You didn't even know how to hide when you were bullied."

Lian Jiashu wiped the mud off his face and shook his head: "I'm not a fool." His mother said that he was not stupid, he was just sick and had not been cured yet.

"Yes, yes, you're not stupid." Xu Heye dragged Lian Jiashu back to the compound and fetched water for him to wash his face. "Next time you run into those bad boys, just walk away. Don't play with them, okay?"

"I understand." Lian Jiashu nodded.

Lian's mother came out of the house and saw that Lian Jiashu was covered in mud. She immediately understood, "Those little bastards bullied you again, didn't they?"

She walked over and patted the mud off Lian Jiashu's clothes vigorously, "Stay away from them next time."

He couldn't help but curse, "A bunch of damn bastards, making mischief all day long, they'll all end up in jail!"

After patting the mud spots off Lian Jiashu's body, Lian's mother looked at Xu Heye and forced a smile: "Heye, thank you so much. If you hadn't brought my Jiashu back, I don't know how long he would have been bullied by those little brats!"

Xu Heye shook her head: "It's okay."

"Auntie, I'll leave Lian Jiashu to you. I'm going back to the house."

"Okay, go back." After saying this, Lian's mother looked at her youngest son, "Jiashu, next time, just wait for your brother at home, okay? Don't go to the alley entrance. If you go there, those brats will always bully you. It makes Mom uncomfortable."

Lian Jiashu shook his head, "No."

He made an appointment with his brother to pick him up from school every day.

"Your brother is in high school now, living in the dormitory, and doesn't come home at night. He only comes home every weekend afternoon. Can I wait for him at the alley entrance on Sunday afternoons from now on?"

Xu Heye took two steps and couldn't help but look back.

Lian Jiashu's mother's temples were already gray, but he still looked as naive as ever. This look on a three or four-year-old child would be adorable, but on a fourteen or fifteen-year-old boy, it would be a sign of endless despair.

Xu Heye sighed and felt a little admiration for Lian's mother.

This trip to northern Beijing was once again fruitless. However, Lian's mother was depressed for only two days before she regained her former optimism, managing the household and patiently caring for her youngest son, who was still ignorant.

As the weather gets warmer, people on the street change into shorts and short-sleeved shirts, and the final exams arrive as scheduled.

Chinese, math, English, and physics—four subjects—were completed in two days. After the exams and transcripts, the second year of junior high officially came to an end.

Xu Heye received the report card and smiled with satisfaction.

After the exams, all used textbooks, test papers, and workbooks must be taken home and the classroom cleared out. In the second half of the third year of junior high, they will probably no longer be in this class.

Xu Heye returned to the slum carrying the thick books, and saw Lian Jiashu, who seemed a little "aloof" on weekdays, following a tall and thin boy like a little tail, chattering lively, calling "brother" as he walked into the house.

Xu Heye looked at the back of Lian Yushu's beautiful head and thought, this must be Lian Jiashu's elusive elder brother.

She had lived in the rental house for so long, but had never seen Lian Yushu.

I heard that he was attending high school in another district and lived in the dormitory. He only had half a day off on weekend afternoons, but he usually didn't go home. Instead, he chose to stay in school to study.

He would only come back during the school's monthly vacation, but last month during the monthly vacation, Lian's mother took Lian Jiashu to Beijing for medical treatment, so Lian Yushu did not go home either.

At noon, Xu Heye planned to go out to find food. She was going back to her hometown for the summer vacation, so she had been packing her luggage after getting her report card. After being busy all morning, she didn't want to cook or wash dishes, so it would be more comfortable to go out to eat.

When she came back from buying cold noodles, she ran into Lian Yushu coming out of the house with a basket of vegetables.

They looked at each other and nodded to each other as a greeting.

Xu Heye recognized Lian Yushu from his similar face to Lian Jiashu, and Lian Yushu also recognized Xu Heye's identity from the way she opened the sentry post door.

Lian Yushu and Lian Jiashu's facial features are really similar, they are worthy of being brothers.

The difference was that one looked immature and naive due to his mental state, while the other looked a bit troubled, but this didn't affect his handsomeness at all. Especially when the sunlight fell on the red mole between his eyebrows, it only made his facial features more delicate and his face as white as jade.

"I wish for orchids and jade trees to grow in my courtyard."

"He is so good-looking, and when the sunlight falls on him, he looks like a Buddha. No wonder he is called Yushu!" Xu Heye thought as she opened the door and went back into the house.

"But the red mole between Lian Yushu's eyebrows always feels familiar." It's the first time I see it, why does it feel familiar?

Xu Heye put the cold noodles on the table, opened the lunch box, took out her chopsticks and mixed them, "Where have you seen this before?"

After thinking for a long time, Xu Heye suddenly remembered that Lian Yushu looked a bit like the genius doctor Sai Hua Tuo played by Qiao Zhenyu in the TV series she had watched in her previous life.

The difference is that one is a handsome man with a bun hairstyle, and the other is a simple modern man with messy hair. As expected, good-looking people are not divided into ancient and modern times, and do not care about hairstyles. A truly handsome man is handsome even with a shaved head.

Shave your head?

Xu Heye's heart snapped as something broke.

She had seen Lian Yushu, really seen him!

Of course, I haven't seen him in person, but I have seen him in criminal reports.

That case was called the Guanyin Devil Murder Case by the media.

She was called Guanyin because the murderer had a very deceptive appearance, with delicate features, a red mole between his eyebrows, and clear eyes. He looked extremely harmless and gentle. No one would believe that such a person had killed anyone, let alone stepped on an ant.

He was called a devil because his behavior was extremely cruel and vicious. He killed six people in a row and confessed to the crime afterwards without any guilt.
