Chapter 105 Anger

With a muffled clap of thunder, Guo Xueyun rushed to the family compound. After finding out in advance which room Cheng Ran was staying in, she went straight there without knocking. Seeing that the door was slightly ajar, she pushed it open and went in.

"Cheng Ran..."

As soon as I ran in, I saw Cheng Ran take off his workout clothes and put on a white t-shirt. Before I could even take a second look at his muscular physique, he quickly changed his clothes and turned away unhappily.

Cheng Ran looked at her coldly: "How did you get in!"

"I..." Guo Xueyun swallowed, her eyes flashing, and stepped forward to grab his hand: "Don't worry about how I got in, I have something very important to tell you!"

"Get out of the way!"

He turned to the side, avoiding her physical contact. Guo Xueyun looked embarrassed and bit her lip.

But thinking about what she had seen and heard today, she suppressed her temper and followed in his footsteps, wishing she could say something that everyone in the courtyard could hear.

"I went to a courtyard house in the western suburbs for a study tour today. Guess who I ran into?"

He admitted that he picked up the soap and quickly washed his workout clothes in the water without even glancing at Guo Xueyun.

"Who you run into is none of my business. Get to the point. This is a family compound. You'd better have a legitimate reason for coming in, or you'll be dealt with according to the rules!"

She opened her mouth, but felt a momentarily choked up. The resentment and frustration that had been building up inside her were all poured out in her words the next moment.

"Fine, so you really don't want to see me? Then I'll tell you, I ran into Jiang Wanqing in the western suburbs today!"

Upon hearing this, Cheng Ran hesitated for a few seconds. Guo Xueyun sneered, knowing that he only reacted when that woman was involved.

"Hmph, but she was with someone else, a man. At first, I thought they were classmates, going on a study tour, but guess what? She was actually there to buy a house! She couldn't possibly afford such a big courtyard house by herself! But the landlord told me she bought it. That man looks rich; he must have bought it for Jiang Wanqing!"

"Smack!"

Cheng Ran's face darkened, and he threw the water-soaked workout clothes heavily into the basin, splashing water everywhere.

Guo Xueyun instinctively raised her hand to block the splash, but her hair still got wet.

Feeling wronged, humiliated... all sorts of unbearable feelings made her unable to endure it any longer, and she gritted her teeth in hatred.

"What exactly are you trying to say!" Cheng Ran yelled at her.

"Why...why are you yelling at me! Cheng Ran, did you know your wife was having an affair and buying a house with someone else? I came here to tell you this out of kindness, to prevent you from being deceived by her, and now you're biting the hand that feeds you, aren't you! I do like you, but I'm not shameless, it's her who's shameless...ah!"

Suddenly, a force pulled her backward, and before she could react, she was slapped across the face.

"Jiang Wanqing, you..."

She covered her face, staring incredulously at Jiang Wanqing, who had returned without her noticing, her eyes red.

"Coming to my house to gossip, Teacher Guo? You abandoned your colleagues and students just to do this kind of thing?"

Jiang Wanqing's face was icy cold as she looked at the woman in front of her with a sneer. No wonder her eyelids had been twitching the whole way; it turned out something had happened here.

She rushed home and only heard the last sentence; she had no idea what Guo Xueyun had said before.

Hearing the commotion, several women came over, including Sister-in-law Song.

"What's going on? I don't recognize this woman. Is she from our compound? That can't be right... She can't come in without a permit..."

"They have many connections; there's no such thing as not being able to get in if they don't want to."

"Tsk tsk... So she's not an ordinary person. I think I just heard her say she likes your Comrade Cheng..." Sister Song added, not wanting to miss out on something good, her words clearly directed at Guo Xueyun.

The other sisters-in-law, unaware of the reason, immediately adopted a gossipy, spectator-like expression.

"Is she a decent person to come to the family compound to confess her feelings to a married man?"

"He seems like a respectable person, so how could he do something so disgraceful?"

With each person saying something, Guo Xueyun's heart was burning with rage. She rushed forward and glared at Jiang Wanqing.

"Stop trying to smear me! Whoever did the dirty work knows! Do you dare to say in front of all these people what you did today! Who you were with, and whether you told Cheng Ran?"

Guo Xueyun's face was full of smugness. Just now, she guessed from Cheng Ran's facial expression that Jiang Wanqing must not have told him about buying a house, and he was even more unaware that she had gone out with other men.

Despite the relentless questioning, Jiang Wanqing remained calm. She looked at Cheng Ran and saw the restrained anger and thirst for the truth on his face, which made her heart tremble.

However, the most important thing right now is to send away all irrelevant people. She doesn't want so many people to know that she spent hundreds of thousands of yuan to buy a courtyard house.

Human nature is complex and hard to fathom. Envy is one thing, but being stabbed in the back is another...

Just as she was about to speak, Cheng Ran stepped forward and pulled her aside, pushing Guo Xueyun aside.

He glanced at everyone, composed himself, and finally fixed his disgusted gaze on Guo Xueyun: "Do my husband and I need to report to you about anything we discuss? You're being far too nosy!"

"Cheng Ran, I'm here to help you!"

Guo Xueyun was holding her breath and couldn't catch her breath, while others pointed and whispered about her.

"Who is this woman? Why is she meddling in other people's business?"

Sister-in-law Song delivered the fatal blow: "We're neighbors with Comrade Cheng and his wife, and their relationship is great. You're the one who came here today to sow discord between them. How can you be so annoying? In the old days, wouldn't you be eager to become a concubine?"

"Yeah, they're shameless..."

Everyone was criticizing Guo Xueyun. She waited for a while, but Cheng Ran didn't defend her, making her lose face. Tears welled up in her eyes, about to fall but not quite.

"You...you just wait!"

She stomped her foot angrily, wiped away her tears, and left the family compound.

Sister-in-law Song urged everyone to leave: "Let's go, let's go back and cook and take care of the children, there's nothing to see here."

As the noise subsided and Jiang Wanqing opened her mouth, Cheng Ran forcefully pulled her into the house, closed the door, and locked it.

“I was just about to explain to you that things are definitely not as Guo Xueyun said… um…”

Her words were interrupted by Cheng Ran's sudden kiss. He was wearing a sleeveless white t-shirt, and her hand could clearly feel the texture of his skin.

He was drawing her breath with anger and resentment, and Jiang Wanqing was unknowingly led to the bed by him.

His hand pulled down the fabric of her clothes from her shoulder, and she trembled the moment it touched the air.

"You...you calm down."

Jiang Wanqing doesn't resist his touch, but that doesn't mean she's willing to give herself to him under these circumstances; it's obvious he's acting impulsively right now.

Where did you go today?

He finally asked the question, and Jiang Wanqing breathed a sigh of relief.

Cheng Ran gently closed his eyes, breathing heavily on her body, his hands supporting him on either side of her.
