Chapter 349 Acting Outrageously

"Of course not. I won't break the law, and neither will he. No one would risk their future."

What he said made sense. Both of them were people with special identities, so it was basically impossible for them to solve problems with force. Thinking this way, Jiang Wanqing felt relieved and nodded.

"Okay, go take a shower and then rest."

He took her hand and kissed it: "Okay, I'm going to take a shower, wait for me."

During this time, Jiang Wanqing read a book for a while. When Cheng Ran came back after taking a shower, he went to bed and hugged her.

"Why don't you turn the light on a bit more when you're reading?"

"It's just to kill time, I didn't look at it in detail, it's okay."

He smelled of soap, which could easily make people lose their minds, and because the two had been separated for a while, their encounter almost sparked a passionate flame.

Fortunately, Jiang Wanqing had strong self-control and didn't forget the important matter. She nudged his shoulder.

"Why...why did you go to see Huanren?"

"For myself."

Jiang Wanqing was a little surprised by this answer; she thought he would say it was for her sake.

The next second, he pinched her cheek and smiled as he kissed the tip of her nose.

“I don’t want someone else to covet my wonderful wife, so I warned him.”

He spoke in a somewhat childish tone, which amused Jiang Wanqing. She knew that what he said was partly true and partly false, but there shouldn't be any major problems.

"Alright."

"Don't you have any other questions?"

"That depends on whether you want to talk about it or not," Jiang Wanqing shrugged. "You know I never force anyone."

"But I am not just anyone."

"Hmm, then tell me the truth again?"

She hooked her arm around his neck and shook her head. Cheng Ran really couldn't do anything about her, so he accepted it even though it was just a perfunctory response.

“I’m going back to the military region in about two days, so I went to warn him not to have any more improper thoughts about you. If there’s a next time, I won’t let him off easily!”

"Commander Cheng is so mighty, he's making me a little scared."

"You're scared already? The scariest part is yet to come."

The conversation somehow veered off course, skin touched, and things got out of control...

As a result, Jiang Wanqing woke up late the next day, and by the time she woke up, Cheng Ran had already taken the child to school.

Xue He and Jiang Jianguo went to the park for morning exercise, and Cheng Ran brought breakfast into the room.

Why didn't you call me?

He was dressed neatly, but she hadn't even changed her clothes yet; she was disheveled and unkempt.

"I wanted you to get some more sleep; you worked hard last night."

"You...you're so annoying!"

Jiang Wanqing glared at him, got up and got out of bed. The factory was rushing to finish orders, and although she didn't have to work on the production line, she still had to go and work with everyone to help stabilize morale.

She quickly tidied herself up, grabbed a quick bite of breakfast, and headed to the factory.

Since Cheng Ran had nothing to do at home, he went to the factory with her to see how Hong Xing and the others were doing, and also to have dinner together after get off work.

The car stopped in the factory parking lot. Jiang Wanqing went to the factory to supervise production, conduct spot checks on the product qualification rate, and see if the current production speed could keep up with the delivery time.

Molly and Hong Xing were exhausted, inspecting each production line. When they saw Jiang Wanqing and Cheng Ran arrive, they temporarily put down their work and rushed over.

"Brother Cheng!"

Hung Hing was very happy to see Cheng Ran, and the two bumped fists.

"You guys are busy, I'll treat you to dinner after get off work."

He can't be of much help here; he can only try not to interfere with their work.

"Comrade Cheng Ran, it's been a while, and you've gotten even more handsome! No wonder no one can poach Wanqing from you," Molly teased.

"Don't talk nonsense."

"Haha...Alright, I'm not teasing you anymore. I'm relieved to see you two are alright." Molly patted Jiang Wanqing's shoulder. "You two go ahead."

"Okay, I'll take him to the office first."

Upon entering the office, I saw a stack of production reports on the desk. Everything was proceeding smoothly according to her instructions, and at this rate, there shouldn't be any problems.

Just as she was about to have a chat with Cheng Ran, the landline suddenly rang. Jiang Wanqing thought it was a business partner or a client, so she quickly answered it.

"Hello, who is this?"

"Your mother-in-law! Cheng Ran's mother!"

Cheng's mother's voice came from the other end of the phone. Jiang Wanqing frowned, and before she could answer, the other party spoke rapidly.

"You really encouraged Cheng Ran to abandon his parents! He's been back for several days, and if it weren't for a friend seeing him, we wouldn't even know when he returned to Beijing. Are you so afraid that his good relationship with us old folks will affect your marriage? Jiang Wanqing, I'm warning you, if I don't see Cheng Ran today, I will definitely go to your factory and make a scene!"

Jiang Wanqing frowned even more deeply, glanced at Cheng Ran, and then walked over to take the phone.

"I'm coming back today, bye."

He spoke concisely, and after hanging up the phone, he looked at Jiang Wanqing with some apology.

"Sorry to have bothered you again..."

"It's okay. I already know your mom is like this, but they don't know you're back yet. Didn't you tell her?"

"I originally planned to just go back to the military region to see them, so as to avoid any trouble, but I didn't expect them to call first."

"Then you should go home first. Drive there. If you don't go, your mother will go crazy."

Cheng Ran rubbed his forehead; that was all he could do. He took Jiang Wanqing's hand.

"I'll come back and have dinner with you. Wait for me after get off work."

"Um."

It just so happens that she was busy with work, and he went back to the Cheng family home. It was fine for them to handle their own affairs. Jiang Wanqing believed that he could handle things well, so she didn't worry too much.

Cheng Ran drove Jiang Wanqing's car back to the Cheng family home. As soon as he entered, he heard his mother's hysterical outburst and heard her throw a feather duster at him as a symbol of her anger.

"So you finally decided to come back! They say that once you get married, you forget your mother? I can really feel it! People who don't know you know that you've gotten married, but they'd think you've moved into someone else's family and abandoned your own! Do you know how worried your father and I are about you? How can you be so heartless as to not even come home once!"

Faced with his mother's accusations, Cheng Ran was too lazy to refute or explain. He picked up the feather duster and put it back on the table.

"You all know perfectly well that I can't just not come home after I return; it's just a matter of when. Why make such a fuss? Just tell me directly, what's the matter?"

Cheng Ran knows his parents well, and he knows they know him well too. Since he's back, he'll definitely visit them; otherwise, what will others think?

Mr. Cheng frowned: "You really did something wrong. You've been back for a few days and haven't even taken a moment to come back and see us. You..."

“Dad, are you and I as unreasonable as Mom? If I didn’t want to come back, I wouldn’t have let you know I’d been back to Beijing. You know I have the ability to do so.”

"you……"

Cheng's mother was speechless. Seeing that she couldn't use family ties to manipulate him, she took out a letter and pushed it in front of him.

"Explain this!"
