Chapter 88 Is he mute?

When Jiang Wanqing went to bed that night, she was still careful, but fortunately, there was no disturbance or accident, and she got through the night peacefully.

The next day, she packed her things and went to school to register. There were many banners welcoming new students hanging inside and outside the school, a bright red scene, and it was very lively.

There were students holding signs at the school gate directing them to register.

Jiang Wanqing, carrying her luggage, attracted a lot of attention as soon as she entered. Her beautiful face was a striking feature.

"Hey, which college are you from? If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, I'll take you there."

"Comrade, let me help you with your luggage..."

Jiang Wanqing deftly dodged the outstretched hand that offered help, politely said thank you, and quickly found her college.

The registration staff looked up at her, held a pen in their hand, and tapped the table.

"Notification letter".

"This is all I have." She took out the certificate that Professor Xue had given her.

However, the other person didn't even look at her, looked at her impatiently, and rolled their eyes.

"Can't you understand human language? Report with your admission notice. If you don't have it, you didn't pass the exam. Don't try to fool me! Next!"

As he spoke, he pushed her back, letting the people behind her go forward to register. Jiang Wanqing frowned.

She wasn't the best-tempered person, but it was her first day at school, which meant she would be facing different people there. Plus, she didn't actually have an admission notice, so she thought she should explain things first.

"Student, it's not that I don't have an admission notice; it was lost in the mail. Professor Xue told me to report first and then come see him later. Do you understand?"

Her complexion wasn't as good as before, but she still tried her best to explain her situation clearly.

The other students who came to report on her situation looked at her, but since she was someone who had been admitted to the University of Washington and her character was decent, none of them tried to squeeze in; they just waited.

"Smack!"

The female student in charge of registration slammed her pen down on the table with considerable force and glared at Jiang Wanqing.

"Hey, who are you? Bringing Professor Xue into this, do you think I'll let you in without following the proper procedures? Get out of here, don't waste everyone's time. Dealing with you country bumpkins is already annoying enough!"

"Excuse me, why don't you let us register first?"

The female classmate behind Jiang Wanqing patted her arm and asked a question, slightly embarrassed.

"Then you go first."

She left the queue; there was no point in lingering there, and since it wasn't her first time at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, she decided to go straight in to find Professor Xue.

But no sooner had she left than the person in charge of registration gave a wink to the person next to him…

The roads to Huada University are winding and circuitous. Jiang Wanqing had a clear goal, but halfway through, she felt someone following her and couldn't help but stop.

His eyes darted around, he pondered for a moment, then turned and walked into the side path.

The person who followed couldn't see her at first, and circled around twice, scratching his head.

"Where are they...?"

Are you looking for me?

Jiang Wanqing emerged from behind the tree with icy eyes, blocking the path back to the main road, and stared at the person.

"Who...who are you? I saw you sneaking into the school without registering, and I was worried you might be some kind of criminal..."

"Don't you have any idea who looks more like a criminal between us?"

The man had shifty eyes, wore clothes that were neither stylish nor unfashionable, and his hairstyle looked like it had been bombed.

He raised his hand to smooth down his overly fluffy hair, displeased, and stepped forward to pull Jiang Wanqing away.

"Come on, follow me to the security office... Ah!"

Before he could even touch Jiang Wanqing, he was pinned down with his hands behind his back, his face pressed against the rough tree trunk.

"Who gave you permission to follow me! If you don't explain yourself clearly, forget about the security department, I could send you to the police station!"

She abandoned any thoughts of being kind to others, realizing that the only way to deal with this kind of person was to be tougher than him.

"Do you think I'm easily scared? You barged into the school without a notice, and if you went to the police station, you wouldn't even know who committed the crime!"

"Oh? Really? Then why don't we give it a try?"

She pulled hard, and the man lost his footing, forced to follow her. He became frightened after only a couple of steps.

"No, no, no... Let go of me. Go back to where you came from. I won't hold you responsible."

"Now it's my turn to hold you accountable. If I remember correctly, you were there when I was reporting the news!"

"I... I was just following my senior's advice. She told me to follow you and see what you were doing. I didn't mean anything by it. I was just worried that outsiders might try to take advantage of the situation and disrupt the school's order."

Jiang Wanqing didn't believe a word of his high-sounding words. She pressed down hard on his hand, and he gasped in pain.

"It hurts, it hurts... Let go, let go! I... I'll take you somewhere and you'll see."

Jiang Wanqing was skeptical, but she had to find out what was going on since she had just entered the school and had encountered a deliberate targeting incident!

She followed him to an office building, entered an office, and heard the door close as soon as she stepped inside. The man had regained his arrogant demeanor.

"Hmph, you'll find out soon enough."

A woman was sitting in the chair behind the desk, her back to Jiang Wanqing. She slowly turned around after the door closed.

Upon seeing that face, Jiang Wanqing raised an eyebrow. It was indeed Guo Xueyun; they had met again in such a short time.

"Teacher Guo, it was her who forced her way into the school without an admission notice!"

"I understand, you can go out now."

She raised her hand and waved. The man stared at Jiang Wanqing for a couple of seconds, then walked out and closed the door again.

There were only the two of them left in the office, so Jiang Wanqing didn't want to waste her breath being polite with her.

"What's your purpose in going to such lengths to bring me here?"

Aren't you curious why you didn't receive an acceptance letter?

Guo Xueyun, wearing exquisite high-heeled leather shoes and a sophisticated outfit, revealed a vicious look that seemed to want to tear someone apart, creating a stark contrast.

"Was it you who did this?"

"You're only realizing this now? It's probably a bit too late." Guo Xueyun glanced at her bag and scoffed, "I know you have the credentials Professor Xue gave you in your bag, but unfortunately he was temporarily sent out to give lectures. He's not here, so who can prove you passed the exam? Without an acceptance letter and having missed the registration deadline, even if Professor Xue comes back, he can't save you!"

So that's what she was planning. She first set a trap at the press office, then lured herself here to have a private conversation. Without anyone else to corroborate her story, these self-disclosures had no effect on her whatsoever.

Jiang Wanqing clicked her tongue, then simply sat down on a chair nearby, put down her luggage, and waited patiently for Guo Xueyun to continue.

"You continue."

Her composure was a wake-up call for Guo Xueyun: "Isn't this serious enough? Stop pretending to be calm!"

"Well, I just wanted to hear Teacher Guo's advice. Since you're willing to say all this and have gone out of your way to bring me here, there must be more to say, right?"

Guo Xueyun's lips twitched, feeling embarrassed at being exposed, but her thick skin allowed her to quickly recover, even taking it for granted.
