Chapter 5: You are an ugly girl, don't be too proud
Although Marquis Dingbei was not happy, he was still ready to take the tea. But just as he raised his hand, he was held down by his wife.
"You are of low status, just the adopted daughter of the Zhou family. Marrying into our mansion is a blessing you earned in your previous life. In the future, you must be thorough and considerate in everything you do in the mansion, serve your husband wholeheartedly, and not be disrespectful in the slightest. Follow the rules!"
The wife of Marquis Dingbei looked at Liu Mingyue coldly and admonished her condescendingly to restrain herself and be polite and not to be disrespectful to her husband.
Liu Mingyue smiled secretly in her heart. Lady Dingbei Marquis knew that her son was inhumane and was afraid that she would look down on him, so she deliberately tried to intimidate her.
"Yes, my daughter-in-law will follow my mother's teachings." Liu Mingyue acted obediently and lowered her head respectfully. Her arms were sore from holding the tray for too long, and the tray was shaking with her arms.
Liu Mingyue wanted to laugh at the Marquis's words, but she felt disgusted. In her previous life, she knew that she was not welcomed as a substitute bride, so she was filial to her elders and managed all the affairs of the mansion until her death.
Despite this, the Dingbei Marquis and his wife still often made things difficult for her and disliked her very much.
Even the miracle doctor who cured Tan Zhuoyan was willing to lend a helping hand because of her, but how did the Hou Mansion repay her? What she received was a nightmare that hurt her to the bone.
Do you still want her to work hard for this family in this life? Dream on.
"Well, this is how a daughter-in-law of a wealthy family should behave." Seeing that Liu Mingyue was a little exhausted, the lady took the tea. The two took the tea and drank it, saying a few words casually, and simply didn't even bother to show respect, and the tea ceremony was over.
After serving tea, Liu Mingyue and Qin Zhuoyan left together, one in front and one behind. Qin Zhuoyan hated Liu Mingyue and was unwilling to walk with her. Coincidentally, she did the same.
The two walked in silence for a while, and when they were at a place with few people, Liu Mingyue spoke quietly: "I know the Marquis has no interest in me, and I don't want to be an eyesore to the Marquis. I've thought about it. As long as the Marquis gives me a letter of divorce, I will leave the Marquis' Mansion immediately."
She proposed divorce straightforwardly. They just got married yesterday, and today she was talking about divorce, which caught Tan Zhuoyan completely off guard.
Although Tan Zhuoyan is physically disabled and inhumane, he still has the authoritarian and chauvinistic character.
In his opinion, even if he looked down on Liu Mingyue, he was the one who proposed the divorce.
Tan Zhuoyan prided himself on being the son of Marquis Dingbei, but he was asked for a divorce by a woman. How embarrassing!
The man in the wheelchair looked terribly pale, "Liu Mingyue, are you crazy? How dare you ask for a divorce from this prince? It's ridiculous!"
Qin Zhuoyan looked at Liu Mingyue in disbelief, but when he saw the ugly face, he turned his eyes away in disgust.
Because of his anger, his face was extremely gloomy. After a moment of silence, he snorted coldly and said in a cold voice: "Liu Mingyue, this prince warns you that even if I am lame, you, an orphan girl, cannot humiliate me."
When talking about Liu Mingyue's identity, Qin Zhuoyan seemed to feel more balanced. The status of the two people was very different.
The man glanced disdainfully at the large birthmarks on Liu Mingyue's forehead and face, and a look of contempt flashed in his eyes: "Why don't you look at yourself in the mirror and see how honorable you are. You are just an ugly woman. Don't be too proud. You still want to divorce this prince? Don't even think about it."
After he finished speaking, he pushed the wheelchair and left Liu Mingyue. Liu Mingyue had no intention of chasing him, but just stood behind him, thinking about something. She originally wanted to part ways amicably, but she didn't expect Tan Zhuoyan to be like a clown.
