Chapter 9: Let's not bother each other, it'll never end!

They sourced the vegetables from the market and then delivered them in large and small packages to the construction site canteen.

Zhou Chen handled everything by himself.

To Zhou Chen's surprise, Li Juan brought someone over today after he mentioned asking for help yesterday; the efficiency was astonishing.

Zhou Chen's second employee was an older woman named Wang Lan, who was a bit older than Li Juan.

Zhou Chen got to know Wang Lan and confirmed the salary, reassuring her that he was young, inexperienced, and unreliable.

After working for a while, Zhou Chen had to go to school to register, so he waved goodbye, rode his bicycle, and left the construction site.

"Xiao Juan, isn't our young boss a bit too young? He's still in school? What were the site managers thinking, daring to contract out the canteen to him?"

With no outsiders in the cafeteria, Wang Lan whispered a curious question to Li Juan.

"Sister Lan, don't underestimate Little Chen. He's very capable. When it comes to bargaining, neither you nor I can compare to him."

Moreover, Xiao Chen is highly regarded by the construction site leaders, and he's also a good student; he'll definitely become a college student and a pillar of the nation. You should work hard; Xiao Chen certainly won't let us down.

Li Juan knew that her relative, Sister Lan, was a bit snobbish, but not too badly. She thought that if she reminded her a few more times and spent more time with Zhou Chen, he would genuinely admire Zhou Chen.

Others may not know, but she knows in her heart that the reason the canteen was contracted to Zhou Chen was because the construction site leaders appreciated Zhou Chen. If it were someone else, even if they were offered an extra thousand yuan in contracting fees, the construction site leaders might not have agreed.

Many workers were talking about this in secret. She had heard it no less than ten times, and she admired Zhou Chen for working on the construction site for three years.

Because construction work is extremely tiring, there are quite a few people as young as Zhou Chen who go to work on construction sites, but Zhou Chen is probably the only one who has persisted for three years.

Zhou Chen has endured so much hardship, and now she runs the cafeteria business. She feels that this is what she deserves, and that being valued by her superiors is the result of her own hard work.

The campus is filled with the vibrant energy of youth.

Every young face is full of vigor and vitality.

Student life is the happiest time, a sentiment shared by every working professional who has entered the workforce.

This leads many people to reminisce about their student days, after all, it was a carefree time when they could laugh out loud or cry freely without caring about anyone's opinion.

A simple yet monotonous life, ingrained in one's very being, leaves a lasting impression.

Zhou Chen, who has been reborn, feels this sentiment most acutely.

He watched the students in his class chatting and laughing, and he was actually quite envious. Unfortunately, his excessive maturity made it difficult for him to enjoy school life as freely as his classmates.

As the bell rang, a new class began.

Zhou Chen quickly regained his composure and focused his attention on the class.

noon,

He ate at the school cafeteria instead of the construction site cafeteria because the lunch break was short, and he wouldn't be able to help much there and would have to rush back.

It basically wasted all the time.

On his way back to class, Zhou Chen saw his second sister, Zhou Na, walking with a classmate from afar. Both of them noticed each other and walked in different directions, avoiding a close encounter.

Zhou Chen was not angry at Zhou Na's reluctance to get close to him in front of his classmates; on the contrary, he thought it was very good.

Because he also didn't want to meet Zhou Na, the most successful and also the most ruthless younger sister in the Zhou family in his previous life. Zhou Chen only wanted to give her one sentence: go your separate ways, live your own lives, and don't bother each other.

He wouldn't seek revenge because of the coldness of his three siblings in his previous life; there was no need for that. But he would never help them again. It would be fine for everyone to remain familiar strangers.

It's likely that Zhou Na shared the same thought.

"Zhou Na, I feel like you know him. Why are you avoiding him?"

"Tell me the truth, do you know him? You're not dating someone, are you?"

"However, he looks a bit dark-skinned and is quite tall. He's not ugly, just very dark-skinned."

Faced with the teasing from her classmates and friends, Zhou Na immediately became expressionless and said coldly, "I still have homework to do, I'm going back to class first."

"Zhou Na, are you angry?"

“Let’s go back too, wait for us.”

Zhou Na ignored him and walked straight towards the teaching building.

That afternoon,

Zhou Chen learned that the entire senior class would have a mock exam at the end of the month tomorrow.

Everyone was both nervous and excited.

After school,

Zhou Chen was called to Teacher Wu's office.

"You don't need to put too much pressure on yourself for the mock exam tomorrow. You've just come back to school, so it's okay if you don't do well."

Fearing that Zhou Chen would be upset, Teacher Wu took the initiative to prepare him by providing him with psychological counseling.

Zhou Chen thought to himself that he wasn't so fragile as to be defeated by an exam; in terms of mental age, he was no younger than Teacher Wu.

"No matter how bad the results are, I accept them gladly, because they are just my starting point, not my end."

Zhou Chen felt that they should give Teacher Wu some confidence.

"Hearing you say that puts my mind at ease. After all, the questions are getting harder and harder these days, and I was worried that you might get discouraged and want to drop out of school again," Teacher Wu said with a smile.

Zhou Chen smiled and shook his head. "I like challenging tasks. The more difficult they are, the more they ignite my fighting spirit."

"Heh, you've got quite the nerve, kid. Well, I'll be waiting for your surprise." Teacher Wu said with a smile, then waved his hand, allowing Zhou Chen to leave.

After leaving the school gate, Zhou Chen greeted Grandpa Liang, who was guarding the gate, and then headed to the construction site as usual.
