Chapter 29 P-Arena
Chu Beiling was also frozen in place; their eyes met, and the air fell silent for half a second.
Chu Beiling apologized and slammed the door shut, shutting out the awkward situation.
For some reason, Chu Beiling felt inexplicably flustered and uneasy. He patted his chest and took deep breaths.
Sharing a bathroom was perfectly normal for them, but bumping into Xing Yu in such a space gave them an indescribable, strange feeling.
Young Master Chu stood bewildered at the door for a moment. The bathroom door opened, and Xing Yu, who had finished washing up, let him in.
"You can use it." Xing Yu cleared his throat, his eyes revealing an unbearable embarrassment.
Chu Beiling nodded, and the two brushed past each other and switched places, tacitly choosing not to mention the awkwardness that had just occurred.
While the others were engaged in a battle in the restrooms, Chu Beiling and Xing Yu went out together, stepping into the second canteen as the first rays of dawn climbed over the wall of the art building.
If you arrive early, there aren't many people in the cafeteria; they're just scattered around, and you don't have to queue at the food counter.
Chu Beiling leaned closer to the window. The breakfast had just been taken out of the kitchen and was still steaming. There was a thin layer of condensation on the glass.
This was the first time he had seen sesame balls and fried dough sticks at the window since he came to the school.
After asking the cafeteria lady for a serving, Xing Yu, who was getting his food from another window, came over. There weren't many people in the cafeteria, and Chu Beiling immediately spotted Li Dong waving at them. Sheng Xia was sitting next to her.
"Good morning, both of you," Chu Beiling greeted them cheerfully.
In the height of summer, she politely replied, "Good morning."
Chu Beiling had just sat down in the empty seat opposite Li Dong when she heard her say, "Did the sun rise in the west? Getting up so early."
"To have breakfast."
Young Master Chu is not only grumpy when he wakes up, but he also likes to stay in bed and dawdle. He's the kind of person who would rather skip a meal than not sleep for five more minutes. Being too familiar with each other can be a little unfriendly, as they are very familiar with each other's personalities and habits.
He himself felt a little guilty saying that.
“Eat breakfast!” Li Dong raised an eyebrow and bluntly exposed him: “You’re probably torturing yourself again.”
"How can you talk like that? Do you think I'd give up the fried dough sticks and sesame balls from the second canteen?" Chu Beiling immediately changed the subject; he didn't really want to bring this up.
Xing Yu's eyelashes fluttered, and his gaze fell on Chu Beiling. This man was rebellious by nature; the more he was forbidden from doing something, the more enthusiastic he became. He had to find another way.
Before I could even speak.
A distinctive husky voice came from across the room: "Nobody believes that."
Li Dong doesn't like to meddle in other people's business, but she can't help but say something to Chu Beiling, whom she grew up with: "You're already good enough to get into the experimental class in academics, and you're number one in art. Nobody can compare to you. It's just an academic exam. Let it go in the past. Don't keep dwelling on it. Chu Beiling, relax."
Chu Beiling pursed his lips into a straight line; he neither responded nor could he respond.
In addition to sacrificing sleep time to study, I repeatedly reinforced my understanding of the questions.
What could he do?! He wasn't a top student who could easily get high scores by studying casually. Like Li Dong and Xing Yu, even though they were art students, their academic scores were still among the top 20 in their grade.
He can only use time to exchange for space, a quantitative change leading to a qualitative change.
Li Dong and Xing Yu didn't understand his actions and even opposed them. Chu Beiling could understand their opinion that his approach was a waste of time.
But their ideas are only their own.
He simply cannot meet Ms. Li's requirements if he doesn't study hard.
Chu Beiling wanted to gain Ms. Li's attention, to please her, and to protect what he liked.
That's the only way; there's no other choice.
Xing Yu glanced at him indifferently and said casually, "The fried dough sticks and sesame balls in the second canteen are definitely worth getting up early to eat."
Chu Beiling was somewhat surprised. A gifted academic genius couldn't understand how crazy ordinary people would be to improve their scores.
After all, in their world, all questions are the same; you just need to overcome your weaknesses. The "sea of questions" approach is just a waste of time.
He thought that when Li Dong said those words, Xing Yu would, as before, point out his perceived flaws in his studies with disapproval.
Xing Yu lifted his eyelids and asked doubtfully, "Isn't that right?"
"Yes, of course, you have to come every day from now on." Xing Yu had already paved the way for him to fall down, how could he not appreciate it?
After breakfast, the four of them went back to the classroom together. At that time, there were only the four of them in the classroom.
As soon as Chu Beiling sat down, she took out all the midterm exam papers from under the table and took out the collection of wrong answers. Just as she was about to copy out the wrong answers one by one, Xing Yu pushed a notebook over to her.
"With so much energy and time, copy this, copy it several times."
Chu Beiling's lazy study habits were perfectly fine, but to prevent him from getting stuck on a rut, Xing Yu simply gave him something to do.
Chu Beiling paused, looked down, and saw that the notebook contained important knowledge points for history, geography, and politics, as well as the textbook table of contents.
"You think I'm idle?" Young Master Chu stared at him with droopy eyes, his expression unreadable.
Xing Yu looked up at him and said quietly, "I think you're quite free."
Chu Beiling ignored him, lowered her head and continued working on her wrong questions, doing whatever she was supposed to do.
Xing Yu, who was standing to the side, spoke up:
"To gain a macro-level understanding of politics, the textbook's table of contents is the most essential summary. By summarizing and organizing the knowledge points under the table of contents, these definitions can be used as answer templates. When encountering questions related to the table of contents, simply apply the definitions and then answer the question based on the question stem."
The mental mapping method for geography involves first creating a map in your mind, then filling in knowledge points on the map, and finally adding humanities knowledge to the corresponding regions.
The historical timeline method involves constructing timelines for ancient and modern history, filling in stories that occurred simultaneously both domestically and internationally, and marking each time point with keywords related to the event.
Xing Yu's classical Chinese is relatively weak. He has been doing special exercises in classical Chinese recently. Without looking up, he said, "Your learning method has always been to build a framework and fill in the details. It's not wrong. Your foundation is not a problem. In humanities, understanding is always more important than doing questions, especially doing questions repeatedly. If you really want to strengthen your memory, you should memorize the important knowledge points of each subject and then do intensive training according to the method I mentioned above. It's more effective than the sea of questions strategy."
He raised his eyes and said quietly, "You're just bored and have nothing better to do than copy the wrong questions over and over again. If you're not bored, who is?"
Recently, Xing Yu finally managed to shut his venomous mouth, but now he's started again.
Chu Beiling suppressed the urge to beat him up, smiled slightly, and directly responded: "It's been sun-dried for too long, it's become too salty, I'm really sorry."
Xing Yu glanced at him: "No need to be shy, I won't eat you."
"..." Unwilling to be outdone and unable to think of a way to retort, Young Master Chu, who was so angry he was practically fuming, decided to drag him down with him and disgust him too: "Brother Yu, you are so heartless. I was so looking forward to it, and you actually said such hurtful things. Listen to how much my heart aches."
Xing Yu said without any politeness, "Shut up and go back to being a salted fish."
Chu Beiling retorted, "Brother Yu, you know you're the kind of person who likes to say one thing and mean another. You clearly don't want me to leave, so why won't you admit it?"
Xing Yu narrowed his eyes and kindly reminded Chu Beiling, "If I really want to admit that you run faster than anyone else, then don't be arrogant if you don't have the guts."
Is Chu Beiling the kind of person who would stop after just one warning? Of course not.
Seeing that he seemed helpless, Young Master Chu became even more enthusiastic: "Brother Ayu, you should be more honest."
Xing Yu, who was doing his homework, couldn't stand it any longer and suddenly leaned closer. A faint lemon scent wafted over, and Chu Beiling jumped back to create distance between them.
Young Master Chu's Adam's apple bobbed, his heart skipped a beat, and he said nervously, "Xing Yu, for the sake of our harmonious and stable friendship, don't do anything, please don't do anything."
When he was provoking him, Young Master Chu was more arrogant than anyone else, acting as if he feared nothing.
Her eyelashes trembled slightly in the sunlight, and her amber eyes stared unblinkingly at Xing Yu, like a deflated balloon, devoid of any imposing presence.
Xing Yu looked down at him, getting closer inch by inch, asking each time he got closer, "Is this okay? Is it honest enough?"
Regardless of whether he answered yes or no, Xing Yu always looked as if he wanted it. Chu Beiling had nowhere to escape and was forced to retreat step by step until his back was pressed against the wall and he had nowhere left to go.
They were so close that their breaths mingled. Xing Yu smiled knowingly, a roguish air about him: "Is that all you've got?"
Of course not. If he didn't resist, he wouldn't be Master Chu. He didn't resist because of the hard-won friendship between him and Xing Yu, not because he was really afraid.
He couldn't stand Xing Yu's provocation at all.
Chu Beiling threw a heavy punch, but his wrist was grabbed. He reached out with his other hand, but it was grabbed again.
Even without hands, he still had feet, so it wasn't difficult. Little did he know that Xing Yu had anticipated his intentions and easily clamped his legs between his knees.
With his hands and feet bound, Chu Beiling was unable to move, making his situation even worse than before.
What did this person eat to grow up so strong?
Xing Yu asked leisurely, "Are you going to continue being arrogant?"
If time could be turned back, Chu Beiling would never have provoked Xing Yu.
He really did something terrible. Knowing full well that Xing Yu was harder to bully than anyone else, he still bullied and provoked him just because of his competitive spirit.
Now look what happened! They shot themselves in the foot.
Young Master Chu is observant and knows when to yield. He won't continue doing things he knows won't bring any benefit; getting out of his current disadvantageous situation is the most important thing.
"I wouldn't dare," Young Master Chu replied verbally, but added in his mind.
I'll do it again next time.
Xing Yu: "You really don't dare?"
"I wouldn't dare." Chu Beiling admitted defeat when she should.
People gradually entered the classroom. Xing Yu let go of his hand and sat up straight: "All talk and no action, all you do is talk."
Chu Beiling instantly bristled and was about to retort when Xing Yu glanced over, so he dared not make any further moves and could only obediently remain a couch potato.
