Chapter 40 P - Unknown

Chapter 40 P - Unknown

Chu Beiling raised an eyebrow and stared at him with interest: "I haven't said anything, how do you know what I want to say to you?"

Xing Yu glanced quickly at someone before looking away: "Isn't that right?"

"..." Chu Beiling couldn't refute it, because it was true.

Since he can't change the fact that he has to perform in a stage play, he has to at least be a prince. Otherwise, it would be a huge loss to have someone call him "Little Prince Fanfan" in such a childish way.

He grinned at Xing Yu, revealing two small, white tiger teeth, pointed at himself, and started his usual line: "Brother, look at my face, do I look like a beauty?"

Xing Yu nodded: "It looks like it."

Chu Beiling waved her hand: "Brother, I'm nothing like you."

Xing Yu answered irrelevantly: "You don't want to act with me?"

“I’m willing.” Chu Beiling didn’t want to accept her fate at all: “But I think you’re more suited to playing a beauty, so let’s switch roles.”

Xing Yu resolutely refused: "No change."

"Change it," Chu Beiling insisted.

"No change."

"Change."

"No change."

The two of them argued back and forth, until the Chinese teacher on stage glanced over and finally stopped.

Chu Beiling was unwilling to go on stage and play the princess himself, and vowed to do whatever it took to get Xing Yu to switch places with him.

Unfortunately, Xing Yu was unyielding, and Chu Xiaoshao's nagging continued until the day before the art festival, but he still couldn't get Xing Yu to give in.

He was so angry that his teeth itched, and he wished he could pounce on Xing Yu and bite him ten or eight times.

On the morning of December 8th, the Xigao Arts Festival was held as scheduled. Students were not dismissed yesterday, Friday, and will not be allowed to go home until after the arts festival ends today.

Chu Beiling, who was to play the princess, was constantly thinking about how she could go home early and not participate.

But Young Master Chu could only think about it; he still had to act, even though he really wanted to quit.

Class 13 drew the third spot to go on stage. Early in the morning, the arts and culture committee member was arbitrarily urging the performers in the cafeteria to finish their breakfast and go to the auditorium to assemble.

They had already rehearsed several times, and the matter was already settled. Before going to the auditorium, Chu Beiling still wanted to make one last attempt: "Xing Yu, let's switch. You are clearly more suitable to play the princess than I am."

Xing Yu lifted his eyelids: "You still haven't given up?"

Chu Beiling: "What if you change your mind? If I don't ask, I'll miss out."

Xing Yu lifted his eyelids and refused Chu Beiling's request to exchange for the 208th time: "No exchange."

Chu Beiling was quite provoked and stormed off with her plate.

Li Dong watched Chu Beiling's departing figure, raising an eyebrow with schadenfreude: "Xing Yu, you've angered him again."

Xing Yu picked up his plate and caught up with Chu Beiling.

"I'm angry."

Chu Beiling looked at him and said, "I won't be angry if you change it."

"Here you go." Xing Yu handed over a decorative balloon.

Chu Beiling was confused: "?"

Xing Yu: "I'm blown away by him, he's so stress-relieving."

"..." Chu Beiling's teeth chattered: "Shut up."

Backstage at the school auditorium, there were only two large preparation rooms. The students who performed on stage early were the ones who went on stage early. The other two classes that came earlier, one was a choir and the other was an aerobics performance. They had changed their clothes in their dormitories and came directly to wait for their turn.

Right now, only the members of Class 13 who participated in the performance are in the lounge.

While everyone was preparing in the backstage dressing room, the arts committee member and a few girls brought over several small boxes filled with unopened performance costumes in various colors.

Chu Beiling suddenly had a bad feeling. The next second, she casually handed him a dress and a wig: "Little Prince Fanfan, these are your clothes."

Chu Beiling stared at the yellow tutu, her lips twitching involuntarily: "You mean you want me to wear this dress on stage?"

Renyi smiled and nodded: "Okay, Prince Fanfan, you can go change your clothes now, it'll be our turn soon."

"That bastard came up with such a terrible idea, making me, a boy, wear a skirt on stage!" Chu Beiling was furious, wishing she could tear the person who came up with the idea to pieces with her own hands.

Chu Beiling grabbed Xu Tunan, who was changing into a frog costume, and pulled his frog ears: "Was it your idea to make me wear a princess dress?"

“Which princess doesn’t wear a tutu?” Xu Tunan blinked and said seriously, “This is dedication to art. Go Chu Fanfan, you can do it, I believe in you.”

Chu Beiling hooked her arm around Xu Tunan's neck and choked him: "If I wear a skirt on stage today, how am I supposed to face the school tomorrow?!"

Xu Tunan looked completely innocent: "Look, I'm a frog. What did I say? This is all for the sake of art. It's nothing."

Not only does he have to play a princess, but he also has to wear a princess's tutu. Where does that leave his domineering and handsome face?

Chu Beiling chuckled twice: "This outfit is way too extravagant. I'd rather be a toad than a princess dress."

Xu Tunan's loud laughter echoed in the lounge. He clutched his stomach, which ached from laughing, and said, "Frogs don't suit your style."

Xing Yu had already changed into his exquisite and handsome prince attire. Chu Beiling was too lazy to waste words with Xu Tunan, so she walked up to him and complained, "They all want me to wear a princess dress."

Xing Yu: "Then I'll burn it for you?"

Chu Beiling smiled slightly: "No, I'd rather see you wear it."

After a moment of silence, Xing Yu slowly spoke: "You are more suitable."

Chu Beiling shot him a glare: "What exactly is it about me that's suitable?!"

Xing Yu looked up at him, his expression languid and nonchalant: "What's wrong with it?"

Chu Beiling lifted her long skirt and gestured in front of Xing Yu: "You are clearly more suitable."

“Yes, it suits me,” Xing Yu said, lifting his eyelids in a very irritating way, “It doesn’t matter if it suits me or not, you’re the one who has to wear it.”

"You—" Chu Beiling was so angry that he was practically fuming.

All the performers had changed into their costumes, except for Chu Beiling, who hadn't. Renyi came over and urged, "Little Prince Fanfan, you can change now, or it'll be too late."

Chu Beiling, with a death-defying air, unfolded her tutu, staring at the gorgeous yet adorable dress with utter disdain.

This dress also thoughtfully comes with matching silk gloves and a princess crown.

The equipment was so complete that Young Master Chu just wanted to curse.

He looked left and right, but in the end he couldn't bring himself to wear a dress on stage, and it was this princess-style tutu.

Young Master Chu had just put down his skirt and was about to run away when he was caught and brought back by that heartless bastard Xing Yu.

Seeing that he was about to run away, the others escorted him and pushed him, along with the clothes, into the fitting room.

That devilish bastard Li Dong said, "Don't come out until you've changed."

Chu Beiling shouted from inside the door, "Believe it or not, I'll cut your skirt off!"

Li Dong chuckled: "Even if you cut it, you'll still have to wear it out like this."

"..." Chu Beiling was about to sharpen his knife: "Where's my knife? Where's my knife?"

Chu Beiling searched for a long time but couldn't find the knife. He was also trapped in the fitting room and couldn't get out. He had no choice but to reluctantly put on the puffy skirt for the time being and then look for an opportunity to escape.

It was the first time in her life that Chu Beiling had worn a skirt, and the puffy skirt was very cumbersome. She struggled with the skirt for a long time, but she couldn't get it on no matter what she did. The strings were even tangled together. Wearing a skirt was annoying enough, but not being able to put it on made her even angrier.

Young Master Chu was so angry that he jumped up and down, and had no choice but to open the door and stick his head out.

All eyes turned to him instantly, and Chu Beiling couldn't find a chance to escape.

After a brief pause, he pinpointed Xing Yu's location among the crowd and beckoned to him, "Xing Yu, come here."

Xing Yu walked in: "What's wrong?"

Chu Beiling pinched her aching temple hard and said helplessly, "Could you help me untie the ribbon? It's all tangled up."

Xing Yu leaned against the doorway, his deep gaze fixed on the knotted rope on Chu Beiling's back. "Turn around."

He squeezed into the cramped fitting room, closed the door, and shut out all the stares.

At 7:30 a.m., the first rays of morning light streamed in through the skylight in the backstage area, forming a small, square grid that cast interplay of light and shadow on Chu Beiling's face, illuminating every detail of his features perfectly.

Xing Yu's hand gripped the dress's shoulder strap, his fingertips occasionally brushing against the cool skin on his back, the obvious sensory stimulation causing his fingertips to tremble.

Chu Beiling tugged at the corner of her skirt, dissatisfied, and said, "Who has such a perverse sense of humor to make me wear a skirt?"

As he moved, his puff sleeves slipped loosely and hung halfway on his arms, revealing his slender shoulders and neck, exuding an indescribable sexiness and tension.

Xing Yu lowered his eyes, paused in untying the rope, and then pulled it tight. Chu Beiling lost his balance and his back bumped into Xing Yu's chest.

Chu Beiling turned around: "Did I hurt you?"

Xing Yu: "No."

"The homeroom teacher had someone arrange for them to buy it." Xing Yu paused, then breathed warmly on his ear: "I'll go outside and see if there are any extra clothes. If you don't want to wear it, then you don't have to."

Chu Beiling's ear tickled, and he turned away, saying, "Of course I don't want to wear it. Playing a princess is already too much for me."

Xing Yu: "Don't move here. I'll go see if there are any spare clothes outside."

All clothes are provided per person, so there are definitely no spare clothes.

Chu Beiling turned around and met his gaze: "I have an idea."

Xing Yu glanced at him and said, "Don't try to take advantage of me."

Chu Beiling shrugged, intending to drag Xing Yu into the mess: "If all else fails, we can both wear skirts, and you can consider it a sacrifice to accompany a gentleman."

Xing Yu turned and left, leaving only the wind lifting a corner of his suit jacket.

Seeing his retreating figure, Chu Beiling couldn't help but curl her lips into a smile, deliberately provoking him: "Princess Xing, don't run away~ I haven't given you my glass slipper yet!"

Xing Yu covered his ears and ran away.

After much hesitation, Xing Yu still couldn't find a spare outfit. In the end, Chu Beiling had no choice but to wear his yellow tutu on stage. As soon as he stepped onto the stage, the whole school was in an uproar, and many students in the audience had their faces twisted in laughter.

But it really is beautiful.

The entire stage play features cross-dressing effects. For example, Xu Tunan plays the frog, Li Dong carries Xing Yu onto the stage on his white horse, and Sheng Xia plays the bed. Although Chu Beiling is a boy wearing a skirt, he is relatively normal among all the various idiots, so wearing a skirt is not that abrupt.

The audience was eagerly anticipating how the prince would act out the final scene where he kisses the princess awake.

Light and mist poured down, casting a bright circle in the center of the stage. Another beam of light followed Xing Yu's footsteps and came to Chu Beiling's side.

The narrator, Ren Yi, spoke in a melodious voice: "The princess was indeed so beautiful and charming. The prince stared at her intently, and couldn't help but step forward and gently kiss her."

Xing Yu walked over, placed his hands on either side of Chu Beiling, and half-wrapped him in his arms. He slowly leaned down, and as he got closer to Chu Beiling, Chu Beiling suddenly opened his eyes.

Their eyes met.

They gazed at each other's lips, their breathing becoming erratic.

Chu Beiling's breath hitched, and an indescribable feeling welled up in his chest once again. He pressed down on the microphone, his hands fidgeting with the tulle of his puffy skirt, and opened his mouth: "Are you really going to keep acting to the end?"

Xing Yu slightly raised his chin: "What do you think?"

The stage was dimly lit, with only a hazy mist. The audience's eyes were fixed on the stage. The auditorium was very empty and large, capable of holding many people, and many gazes were directed at them, yet it was so small that only the two of them remained.

Backlit, Xing Yu's figure was imbued with a soft and hazy texture.

Chu Beiling's Adam's apple bobbed nervously: "I, I, I think it's completely unnecessary."

Xing Yu slowly moved closer, closing the distance between the two of them.

At this moment, Shengxia, who was playing the bed board, held up a large whiteboard with mosaics written on it to cover the faces of the two people.
