Chapter 91 P - Sunset

Chapter 91 P - Sunset

Chu Beiling hadn't really thought about what to say, but he thought he had "changed his mind," so he just said it out loud.

The bright sunlight streamed through the glass, casting a soft glow on Xing Yudu, who was leaning against the windowsill.

Chu Beiling moved in front of him, an arm's length away, and his shadow fell on Xing Yu, overlapping with his skin.

The two looked at each other from a very close distance.

Xing Yu's eyes flickered, but the shimmering light reflected in them vanished in an instant, quickly returning to calm like a pebble dropped into water, leaving no ripples.

Chu Beiling looked into his eyes, her heart pounding in her chest, her voice trembling slightly with nervousness: "Brother Ayu..."

“I like you,” he took a deep, slow breath, each word clear and solemn: “Would you like to be with me?”

Xing Yu didn't speak, but Chu Beiling unexpectedly heard his heartbeat, like a drumbeat, so loud that it struck his eardrums from his chest, entwined with his heart, and resonated together.

Chu Beiling now understands that no matter how calm and rational he is, he cannot control his heart from beating for Xing Yu.

Even knowing that their relationship might be shattered and destined for destruction, Chu Beiling still wanted to be with Xing Yu and kiss him.

think--

Love him boldly.

He should have said those words long ago.

Xing Yu's Adam's apple bobbed, and his voice was low and hoarse: "But I don't seem to have anything to give you."

Chu Beiling reached out and took his hand, gently pressing it against her heart. "Then, do you like me?"

His palms were warm, and his heartbeat pulsated through his skin, one beat after another, firm and fervent.

Xing Yu's fingers twitched slightly, wanting to pull away but reluctant. He lowered his eyes to look at their intertwined fingers, closed his eyes briefly, and then opened them again: "I like it, I like it very much."

He wouldn't deliberately put Chu Beiling in a difficult position or make him bear his affections, but as long as Chu Beiling asked, Xing Yu wouldn't hide anything from him.

He couldn't refuse any of Chu Beiling's requests.

Upon hearing this, Chu Beiling knelt down on one knee, lowered her head and placed a light kiss on the back of his hand, then looked up at him and winked playfully, "Your Highness, I sincerely invite you to be my boyfriend."

Xing Yu paused for a moment, then chuckled, and immediately squatted down to be at eye level with him.

He didn't want Chu Beiling to look up to him, much less to bow down and submit, not even in jest.

Xing Yu's gaze moved down from his eyes, then he restrained himself and looked away, saying in a low voice, "Are you sure you've thought this through? We..."

He paused mid-sentence, unsure how to phrase it, and after a moment of silence, continued, "Dating me would be harder and more difficult than with other people, if possible..."

Chu Beiling cupped his face, leaned forward, and lightly kissed his lips before pulling away slightly: "As long as you're willing, as long as it's with you, I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid of anything."

He said softly, "Thank you, I'm sorry, I like you."

"I will protect you well," Chu Beiling silently added in her heart.

Xing Yu could no longer restrain himself and leaned closer.

Their gentle, soft lips pressed together quietly. Chu Beiling didn't move, and neither did he.

The touch was light and fleeting, yet both felt a resonance within them, and soon their rhythm was disrupted.

A breeze came in, and the sheer curtains swayed in the wind, creating ripples of light and shadow in the room like flowing water.

Two boys huddled in a corner, their bodies pressed together, gently exchanging breaths and heartbeats. In the thin air, they kissed each other with a youthful yet devout tenderness.

Chu Beiling felt lightheaded.

Like a drunken immortal in a martial arts drama, it's as if he's stepping on a ball of cotton candy; he's fully conscious, but his movements are unsteady and lack any support.

When he sobered up, he was sitting in front of a waterway in a water town, a place with a rich and poetic spatial layout, staring at a snow-white canvas, without making a single stroke.

Xing Yu and his classmates have already begun to refine the details.

Once his mind returned to normal, Chu Beiling finally realized that they were in a relationship.

Xing Yu is his boyfriend.

Chu Beiling glanced sideways. Xing Yu seemed much calmer than him. His hand holding the drawing board moved constantly across the paper. He was focused on his painting, and his taut lips were tinged with a faint red.

Remembering those soft lips, Chu Beiling's throat felt itchy again, and his body temperature spiraled upward. He picked up a bottle of mineral water from the ground and put it in his mouth.

"Don't drink..." Xing Yu tried to stop him, but it was too late.

Chu Beiling stared at him blankly until he swallowed the saliva, at which point he realized the taste was off and looked down.

Well, the paint water is murky.

He immediately confronted the culprit: "Hu Tutu, why did you use my mineral water to wash your brush?!"

Xu Tunan felt wronged: "Heaven and earth bear witness, although I have a criminal record and this water is indeed mine, I cannot pass through you to wash my brushes."

Chu Beiling was stunned for a moment, then belatedly realized what was happening.

What he just took seems to be—

Chu Beiling turned her head mechanically, and said incredulously, "You didn't bring a bucket!!"

"I was in such a rush that I left the water bottle at the hotel." Xing Yu cleared his throat, not forgetting what he needed to do, and handed him the water glass: "Rinse your mouth."

It seems he wasn't as calm as he thought; he even forgot to bring the important bucket.

Chu Beiling smiled slightly, took the water glass from him, and walked towards the restroom.

After rinsing his mouth and returning, Xing Yu looked him over and asked, "Are you feeling unwell?"

He wasn't uncomfortable, but he felt like he needed to be taken out for emergency treatment, but it had nothing to do with drinking the paint water.

Chu Beiling calmed down her chaotic emotions. "A small amount accidentally ingested is not a big problem. We'll deal with it if there are any issues."

At this moment, Xu Tunan, who was even more wronged than Dou E, spoke up, "You two are out of your minds today. One forgot to bring the bucket, and the other hasn't touched a single brush yet, and even drank the paint water."

He suddenly stood up and moved between the two, his gaze shifting back and forth between Xing Yu and Chu Beiling.

Chu Beiling pried open his big head: "What are you looking at?"

Xu Tunan stroked his non-existent long beard, narrowed his eyes, and said, "There's nothing wrong with him."

It would have been better if he hadn't said anything. Chu Beiling licked his still slightly burning lips and said awkwardly, "Injury, what injury? What kind of injury could there be?"

Xu Tunan said, "Isn't it because you two fought eight hundred rounds in the room and knocked your souls out?"

Xing Yu's face went blank for a moment.

Chu Beiling suddenly choked, coughing like a fully cooked shrimp.

Li Dong turned around and handed over a pack of tissues, saying meaningfully, "Take it easy."

"..." Chu Beiling shook his head at her, unscrewed the water cup that Xing Yu had just given him, and gulped down half of it in one go: "I brought some."

Li Dong glanced at the black water glass, then took back the tissue. "Okay, you can continue."

Chu Beiling: "Continue what?"

Li Dong: "Disheveled in the wind."

Chu Beiling: "..."

The group exchanged a few sarcastic remarks before calming down.

Chu Beiling pointed all the blame at Xing Yu: "It's all your fault."

"Yes, it's my fault," Xing Yu replied frankly.

Chu Beiling said, "If I get sick from drinking today, you'll be responsible for me for the rest of your life."

"OK."

The rainy season has just ended, and everything in the water town is clean. When the sun shines, it sparkles with a warm luster, and the whole river is lush and green.

The air was dry and fresh, and the temperature was just right. Chu Beiling loved this kind of weather; everything was perfect and made him feel happy.

He composed himself and began catching up with the others' progress.

After finishing their morning sketching and having lunch, they moved to a more open location, set up their easels, and sat down in a row.

As the day drew to a close, the sky was painted in shades of pink and purple, the sunset filled the heavens, and the people on the ground, the trees by the roadside, the white walls and blue tiles, the small bridges and flowing water were all bathed in a romantic velvet hue.

The students in the class all took out their phones and pointed them at the sky.

Lin Tingdao pointed at them from behind and coughed lightly: "How arrogant~ Your teacher Wang has only been gone for a short while, and you already don't take me seriously?"

"Teacher Lin, please pretend you didn't see it."

"Teacher, it's a holiday now, so please turn a blind eye."

"We'll just take a picture of the sunset. When we're painting, we'll be focused and absolutely won't be using our phones."

"It's such a rare sight to see such a beautiful sunset; it would be a shame if the teacher didn't take a picture."

...

Dozens of mouths, each saying something, chattered away like a noisy market in the early morning, giving one a headache.

Lin Tingdao made a stop gesture: "Stop, stop, stop. You brought your cell phones to school and you still have the nerve to ask me to pretend I didn't see them."

Xu Tunan reminded her, "Teacher Lin, we are not at school now."

Lin Tingdao pointed at him in the air: "Tutu, I've got my eye on you. Be careful when you go back to school, or I'll give you five hundred lashes if I catch you."

Xu Tunan laughed and said, "Teacher, I wasn't your main focus that day."

Lin Tingdao: "You're quite honored."

Xu Tunan: "Of course."

"You can save your breath. Every time I see your paintings, I feel like I'm going to die from anger for months."

Xu Tunan laughed twice: "I'll try not to be abstract."

"You'd better be."

Lin Tingdao said seriously that Wang Caiyan was not here and they did not take her seriously, but he did not really do anything to them. He also told them to hurry up and take pictures so as not to miss such a beautiful sunset.

If they could, these little rascals in Class 13 would be more than happy to have Lin Tingdao as their homeroom teacher.

Of course, this is just a thought.

Most of my classmates were taking pictures, and the sound of shutters clicking was constant.

As soon as Chu Beiling opened the sketchbook and began to paint, the sky darkened a bit more. He clicked his tongue, afraid of missing the sunset, and quickly took out his phone, opened the camera, and took several pictures in a row.

In the lens, there is a dense mass of heads, and layers upon layers of infinitely recursive, purple-pink sunset clouds.

"Chu Beiling".

The sound came from behind him, and he subconsciously turned around, just as he walked into Xing Yu's camera lens. The image froze, and his round amber eyes had not yet recovered from the shock. The wind blew by, and the tuft of hair on his head floated gently in the air.

When she came to her senses, Chu Beiling grabbed Xing Yu's wrist and pulled him close: "If the photo looks good, that's fine, but if it's ugly..."

On the screen, his hair was slightly disheveled, and his expression was blank, both dazed and silly.

Chu Beiling instantly exploded: "Xing Yu, are you doing this on purpose?"

Xing Yu stuffed his phone into his pocket: "The camera doesn't lie."

"Nonsense." Chu Beiling reached out to grab the phone, but the other party grabbed her wrist.

Xing Yu ruffled his fluffy hair: "Stop fooling around, be good."

Chu Beiling's ears burned, but her struggle weakened slightly: "Let go."

Xing Yu calmly said, "Don't move, and I'll let go."

Although Chu Beiling was not entirely convinced, she wasn't going to make things difficult for herself, so she quickly agreed, "I'll behave and not move."

Yeah, right.

Just as Xing Yu let go, Chu Beiling turned around to reach for his pocket, but Xing Yu anticipated his move and grabbed his hand beforehand, twisting it behind his back again.

He said coolly, "I already told you, don't move around."

Chu Beiling cursed inwardly, "Bastard Xing Yu, he looks so serious, but once his true nature is revealed, he's completely black, so pure and simple, he doesn't even bother to pretend."

Xing Yu: "Are you still going to cause trouble?"

Chu Beiling thought to himself, "It's clearly you who's causing trouble."

Young Master Chu thought this in his heart, but he quickly begged for mercy aloud. It wasn't that he was afraid; well, he was afraid.

Actually, there's nothing wrong with guys joking around, especially since he and Xing Yu used to argue a lot and fight fiercely, but no one ever thought anything of it.

The problem is, he's with Xing Yu now, and Chu Beiling feels guilty. He doesn't want anyone to notice anything and end up like Su Beichen and Shen Zhi.

Since you've decided to be together and want it to last, you absolutely cannot act recklessly.

Xing Yu let go of her hand, and Chu Beiling turned to him to discuss, "Could you delete that photo from just now?"

He lifted his eyelids slightly. "Five hundred for one, or not?"

Chu Beiling: "These unscrupulous merchants are raising prices arbitrarily; I want to report them."

Xing Yu: "Yeah, I'm heartless, go ahead and report me."

"..." Chu Beiling wanted to bite the black sesame dumpling into pieces.

Unable to delete it, Chu Beiling decided to find an opportunity to take an unflattering photo of Xing Yu and then exchange it with him.

Thinking of this, the ugly photo from before didn't seem so important anymore. Young Master Chu was actually looking forward to taking a picture of Xing Yu and seeing his wonderful expressions.

The sky darkened further, and the sunset transitioned from pinkish-purple to light purple. In the dense crowd, they stood one after another.

Being so close, Xing Yu's cool aura lingered near his ear and around his neck, a posture that felt exceptionally intimate, as if Xing Yu were half-encircling him from behind.

Chu Beiling, her mind wandering, reached out and took Xing Yu's hand in a corner where no one could see her.

At this moment, on their first day together, the sky was ablaze with sunset colors, and the air was filled with the sounds of people.

Everyone was focused on the sunset; no one noticed them—so close.
