Chapter 10: Secretly Drinking Contraceptive Soup

Prince Yan asked the imperial physician to check Shen Wei’s pulse.

He stood beside the bed and saw a set of gorgeous men's clothes hanging on the clothes rack not far away.

It was an open-fronted long gown made of luster brocade with a cross collar. The garment was exquisitely sewn and came with a light-colored silk belt.

With just one glance, the King of Yan knew how well-fitting the dress was.

Every stitch and every thread is Shen Wei's love.

And he actually thought that Shen Wei was greedy and arrogant...For a moment, King Yan was invaded by guilt. He almost let down a girl who loved him wholeheartedly.

Shen Wei has him in her heart, so even if she has some small flaws of being arrogant and greedy, it is not a big deal. No gold is pure, and no one is perfect.

This heavy love is the most precious.

King Yan completed his self-strategy silently.

After the imperial physician took the pulse, he reported to the King of Yan: "Your Highness, Master Shen is weak, his internal organs are damaged, and he has a slight fever. I will immediately prescribe a prescription to treat Master Shen."

King Yan urged: "Go quickly."

Cai Lian followed the imperial physician to get the medicine and boiled it overnight.

Everyone left, leaving only the sleeping Shen Wei and King Yan in the room. King Yan sat at the head of the bed and held Shen Wei's slender hand.

He murmured, "You are the first woman to make clothes for this king personally."

As the prince of Daqing, all his clothes were prepared by the clothing bureau of the imperial palace. Even his mother, his legal wife, had never made clothes for him.

Shen Wei was the first.

She had never asked Prince Yan about his waist size, but she was able to make clothes that fit him.

King Yan was overwhelmed with emotions: moved, loved, and relieved.

Chen Wei was ill, and Prince Yan was afraid of disturbing her rest, so he stayed in Fangfei Garden until late at night and left with his glittering brocade dress. Before leaving, he repeatedly told the maids and eunuchs to take good care of Shen Wei.

Supplements were also delivered to Fangfei Garden like a stream.

The next morning, Shen Wei got up yawning. She had a very good sleep.

Get ill?

Of course she wasn't sick, she was just pretending. The doctor found out that she was in poor health, and it was an old illness in her body.

Even when making clothes for Prince Yan, Shen Wei only provided Prince Yan's measurements. As she often slept with King Yan, Shen Wei naturally knew his body size.

The tailoring and embroidery of the clothes were all done by Rong Mama, Caiwei and Caiping.

Chen Wei jumped out of bed and ran a few laps in the spring-filled yard as usual, then huddled back into bed and continued to pretend to be sick.

Not long after he lay down, Prince Yan, who had just left the court, came to visit him.

“Your Highness.” Shen Wei opened her eyes weakly and extended her hand towards King Yan. Her face was snow-white, with black hair scattered on the pillow. She was at the age of a delicate flower, and her sick appearance was particularly pitiful.

King Yan held her hand and said, "Weiwei, you are feeling better now."

Shen Wei smiled weakly: "Your Majesty, please try the dress to see if it fits. If it doesn't fit, I will modify it."

If it were any other concubine, she would definitely say how miserable she was due to her illness and take the opportunity to gain the favor of the King of Yan.

But Shen Wei was different. She did not mention her "illness" at all, but first mentioned the clothes she gave to King Yan. This would make King Yan think that she cared about him wholeheartedly and didn't even care about her own health.

"It fits very well." King Yan held Shen Wei's hand, his handsome eyes filled with special emotions, "Making clothes is hard work, so let the servants do this kind of work in the future."

Prince Yan went back last night and tried on the dress.

Perfect fit!

Every stitch and thread was Shen Wei's love, how could he not be moved?

Shen Wei's eyes widened, and she said angrily, "The clothes I made myself are different from those made by others. How can I let others make them?"

After a pause, Shen Wei seemed to feel that her words were too overbearing. She lowered her eyes aggrievedly and said sullenly, "My lord, please don't blame me... When I saw the floating brocade that day, I thought it was suitable for making clothes for my lord. I just hope to be nicer to my lord."

Her attitude was like that of a jealous little girl, her heart and eyes filled with love.

She stole the Fuguangjin just to make clothes for the prince. What did she do wrong?

As for the half of the floating brocade that was left over from making clothes, she kept it for herself. What was wrong with that?

Prince Yan felt warm in his heart and thought, she really loves me!

But after all, he was worried about Shen Wei's health, so King Yan deliberately said seriously: "Be obedient, and take good care of yourself, which is the greatest good for me. I asked the Ministry of Internal Affairs to select some good fabrics, and I have sent someone to deliver them to make new clothes for you."

This silly girl was so busy making new clothes for him that she forgot about herself.

The Prince of Yan specially sent her some fine fabrics to make some beautiful dresses so that she could attend the Spring Banquet next month.

Shen Wei pouted, looked up at King Yan, then shrank back into the quilt and hid in anger.

Seems to be sulking.

In bed, Shen Wei rolled her eyes in disdain - this old lady is so fake, ugh~

Outside the bed, Prince Yan smiled indulgently - jealous and arrogant, so cute.

Prince Yan spent some time with Shen Wei in Fangfei Garden, but as he was busy with official duties, he got up and left.

As the prince of Daqing and the right-hand man of the crown prince, although Prince Yan dotes on Shen Wei, he will not allow himself to be overly obsessed with women.

Before leaving, King Yan did not forget to take a look at the vegetable garden.

The cabbage seedlings have grown out, and the radish seedlings have also grown out. Their fresh and tender leaves are waving in the wind, and they are growing well.

He looked at the half of the vegetable field planted by Shen Wei. The cabbage seedlings were green and yellow, and several radish seedlings had died.

Prince Yan felt an infinite sense of accomplishment in his heart. His vegetable-growing skills were still more impressive.

...

Early in the morning, the maid Zhang Yue came out of the greenhouse with a pot of gardenia in her hand and deliberately passed by Fangfei Garden.
